a woman who was in the car streamed video on social immediately. the video is graphic and it is disturbing. >> stay with me. we got pulled over for a busted taillight in the back. the police, he is covered. he killed my boyfriend. he's licensed. he's licensed to carry. he was trying to get out his i.d. and his wallet out his pocket and he let the officer know that he was -- he had a firearm and he was reaching for a wallet and the officer just shot him in the arm. >> no worries. i will, sir. he just shot his arm off. we got pulled over. >> i told him not to reach for it. i told him to get his hand up. >> you told him to get his i.d., sir. his driver's license. oh my god, please don't tell me he's dead.

please don't tell me my boyfriend just went like that. >> keep your hands where they are, please. >> yes, i will, sir. i'll keep my hands where they are. please don't tell me this, lord. please, jesus don't tell me he's gone. >> officers performed cpr after the shooting. the man was later pronounced dead. the interim chief for the st. anthony police department spoke about the shooting. >> during the stop, shots were fired. one adult male was taken to the hospital. we have been informed that this individual is deceased. no one else was injured and the bca has been called in to investigate this officer-involved shooting. a handgun was recovered from the scene. the bca will be providing additional information as their investigation progresses. >> the man has been identified as 32-year-old filando castile.

now to the latest in the deading police shooting in louisiana. the u.s. justice department will lead a civil rights investigation into the death of 37-year-old alton sterling. he was shot at a baton rouge convenience store. several hundred people gathered outside the store where sterling was killed. in philadelphia, a dozen was arrested after they blocked an interstate entrance, some lying on the pavement. there are two angles of the shooting in circulation. the store's owner says he believes alton sterling was murdered. gabe gutierrez has the disturbing images. >> reporter: in the newly released cell phone video, a closer look at the final moments of alton sterling's life. baton rouge police say early tuesday morning a 911 caller said someone matching sterling's description threatened him with

a gun outside a convenience store. >> he pulled the gun on the complainer and told him he -- >> reporter: they say when two officers confronted sterling. they tackled and wrestling steriling to the ground. seconds later, gunshots. this other cell phone video was shot by the store's owner, at one point an officer yells he's got a gun. >> was he acting aggressive in any way towards these officers. >> he just wanted to know what was going on. why are they coming to arrest him? >> announcer: this than said sterling had sold cds outside for years and recently started carrying a gun for protection. these up close stills an officer pulls an unidentified object from his pocket. it's not clear what happened before the cameras started recording. sterling's death quickly spread through social media and prompted peaceful protests. >> the individuals involved in

his murder took away a man with children. >> reporter: quinyetta mcmillon is the mother of steriling's 15-year-old son. >> i for one would not arrest and would not allow y'all to sweep him in the dirt. >> reporter: less than 36 hours after the incident, the governor announced the department of justice's civil rights division would lead the investigation. fbi director james comey facing intense political scrutiny on capitol hill today. he will testify before the house oversight committee on the fbi's recommendation not to prosecute hillary clinton. in a statement, committee chairman jason cha fets says it's surprising and confusing. secretary clinton violated the law. congress and the american people have a right to understand the depth and breadth of the fbi

investigation. i thank comey to publicly answer these important questions. now, the clinton campaign has responded saying in part house republicans are launching yet another tax-payer fund sham of an inquiry to try to hurt hillary clinton. for weeks they said they trusted comey. this comes as the d.o.j. says it is accepting the fbi's recommendation to not bring charges against clinton and staff. the clinton campaign welcomed that news with spokesman ryan fallon tweeting, with the ag accepting directory's recommendation -- >> newt gingrich introduced donald trump at a rally in cincinnati and trump praised the former speaker of the house. >> newt has been my friend for a long time. and i'm not saying anything and i'm not telling even newt

state comparison. no pro trump money has been spent in north carolina, iowa or new hampshire. team clinton is also outspending team trump in the battleground states just under 43 million to 900,000 and some change. former candidate and senator marco rubio says le not attend the republican national convention later this month. a spokeswoman tells the tampa bay times rubio will miss out. trump is preferable to clinton, he disagrees with trump on many issues and some of trump's statements he finds, quote, unacceptable. on the democratic side, bernie sanders still has yet to endorse clinton and the frustration on capitol hill seems to be mounting. politico reports that sanders was booed by house democrats at a closed door meeting last night. >> did you get booed? >> i think that there were a few people who were booing. i think most of the people were
