tragedy from kansas. a big investigation underway after a boy died while riding a water slide. right now the water park in kansas city is closed. investigators trying to figure out how this happened. we have the latest. this morning a full scale investigation at the schlitterbahn water park after a ten yoer ten-year-old died on the park's attraction. it is the world's tallest, more than 16 stories high. a raft plummets at more than 65 miles per hour. it was on the first steep drop where he some how went airborne. they say they inspect the attraction and an outside group does the same at the start of

inside the gym here in rio, its american women looking all but unstoppable. the u.s. gymnastics team will get a chance to defend its 2012 title in tuesday's all-around competition. but last night, wow, they nearly swept the qualifying events. simone and aly raisman. but gabby douglas despite having the third highest score overall will not get to compete because of a rule allowing each country to only advance two qualifying athletes. with me now, shawn johnson, who competed in 2008, winning a gold

and three silver medals. they call them the fierce five. i don't know if that describes it. have you ever seen anything like this? >> i have never. i mean, in the entire history of gymnastics, nobody has seen it. normally first and second place is separated by a point or two. and our girls are separated by ten points total. so they're unstoppable. they're flawless. >> and they seem to be having a good time. i don't sense the tension. >> not at all. the tension isn't there because the pressure is not there. they're the best and they just have to go out and have fun. work as a close-knit group of girls like they are. and so you can tell. >> i've been covering gymnastics for a very long time, but never having done it, it's hard to appreciate what they're doing now, even versus what was being done, particularly by simone biles, what was being done four and eight years ago. >> it's the difference between men's gymnastics and women's gymnastics. the sport has evolved so much, but simone has taken it to a
