awkward charity dinner. back on the trail telling you everything that's happening for the race of the president. two and a half weeks if you can believe it. major development from the story that could affect -- >> i am joining now is katy tur. >> what are you going to say when it comes election day. katy tur is her name. we were joking about pence and tim kaine being all over the map. i am wondering why he picks pennsylvania over north carolina. what is he thinking? north carolina, he's statistically tied with hillary clinton. he needs pennsylvania to win in november. without it, it is very hard to
12:01 pm
see how he will get the electoral college vote that he actually needs. but, so what you are seeing right now is he's going to two spots in pennsylvania outside of pittsburgh, there are spots where it is rural and less urban where his voting block is situated. he's not necessarily expanding the map there. he's trying to energyize his base enough to sort to counter act the cities in pennsylvania. and the same thing with with north carolina. that's why you see him when he gets ons sta stage out there. we need to watch these communities. and this sort of various actions and voter fraud in philadelphia. >> romney got zero votes in a couple of precincts in
12:02 pm
philadelphia in 2012, there must be something negative gouing on. >> african-american votes out there leans heavily to democratic. >> he seems like he was talking about, well, hope this is all worth it which he said before, he has said that before. >> i mean, analyzing trump's mood and tone from rally to rally. >> what do you think of the last two and a half weeks. what is the campaign telling you of their strategies? >> the campaign does not say there is anything wrong, well, at least what they are telling reporters. they believe that the polling is incorrect and under representing trump's support because people don't want to say to a live person that they'll be voting for donald trump. i don't know what they're saying about the campaign.
12:03 pm
it is kind of counter inintuiti. >> in colorado, you are down eight points in colorado. why are you campaigning here, why not focus on a place in arizona and it could turn blue or even texas which is coming up close. we are going to win colorado. so it is a bit maddening when you speak to them and try to show them the facts that are in front of them and they try to deny it. that's what donald trump does on campaign stage as well as rallies and saying he does not believe any of these polls about women and look at all the women that come to my rally. reality, there are a lot of women out there than just the one. >> we'll see, election night and the voters get to decide. we'll see what happens if those polls -- >> you never know of that campaign and i would never make a prediction because he has define political gravity over and over again. >> katy tur, great to see you.

thank you very much, have a great weekend. the clinton campaign in ohio today. kasie hunt is also here on me on the set. kasie we ke kasie, we keep on saying it is two weeks. what do you hear from top clinton people? >> we are not counting down to the end of this thing, are we? >> we are not. think think this is the final phase for the clinton campaign. she talked a lot about the fact they are ripping up campaign str schedule and she will be holding many more events previously and he will be out in pennsylvania and north carolina. i think for them, the focus is really trying to close as strong as possible especially of this conversation about a rigged election. they feel like it is really important to make sure that, you know, presume thing that the po hold and it is looking like a durable lead in a lot of these

polls. they are trying to make sure that there is no way the number on the boards are all unclear. >> to put whatever questions there maybe to rest. >> let me ask you about wikileaks, we got more e-mails out from today. again, today, as has happened many times over the previous few days. more messages between clinton's associate that could make the liberal wing of the party and not very happy. there is o and then he says, but we live in a lefty alternative universe. are we seeing wikileaks e-mails starting to divide the democrats a little bit? >> i think that the last impact of these wikileaks maybe exactly what you are talking about. a serious drift in the democratic party between the progressive wings. but, the more center left and
12:06 pm
more pragmatic and wing of the party after the '90s. we are getting this pointing of just how the clinton's campaign where he wrestled with. i was surprised of the movement of bernie sanders and hillary clinton called herself a moderate. and john podesta saying does she does not understand what planet we are living on. the way they took it initially was to as you say point out how they did not seem to understand what was going on on the left. there is one e-mail referred to on the left as freaks and collectively gotten under beneath the skin of a lot of people. we are where the juice and the passion is on the left. so, i think that this actually may last longer in this election. >> we should point out that we have not authenticated those e-mails nor the clinton's

campaign have authenticated. >> and intelligence agencies are arguing that the russians are booi behind this hack and it is a direct attempt to stop it. >> thank you, you also have a great weekend. >> lets bring in john stanza. we should know msnbc's company universal has made a lead there. john, great to see you there. >> lets start with the buzz feed of rnc chair, michael steel, saying that he will not vote for donald trump. you guys put it out there, he won't vote for hillary clinton either. maybe not so shocking, how much does it hurt trump to have three rnc former chairs not backing him? >> i think it hurts him a lot. michael steel for a long time tried to thread this needle
12:08 pm
where he was -- it was critical giving him some kind of c constru constructive advise and for people that supported him and undecided voters. for him to say i had enough and i cannot do this anymore is bad for them frankly, it shows the establishment is worried about what's going to happen come november 8th. john, donald trump has been talking about a rigged election, and we were looking at our results from our nbc news survey mo monk monkey, 45% of americans won't except the results of the election if their candidate loses verses 16% if we can flip the screen of the democrats who say they won't. so in other words, republicans
12:09 pm
seem unlikely to accept the results. what do you think is in store if trump loses this election. >> representative steve king, that's literally what she's going to have to do. it is herbally the birther movement but now in terms of really questioning the legitimacy of her government, assuming that she's elected. it is going to make things almost impossible for her and for moderate republicans or conservative republicans trying to get things done in washington. the house republican party is going to be conservative and a lot of their moderates are looking at lose elections and it is going to be hard for speaker paul ryan. we don't believe and we think it is stolen from us. it is going to make us of this poison culture for eight years or worse. >> clinton's campaign has a new ad today of the father of

capta captain khan, i want to play a little bit about it. >> he saved everyone in his unit. >> the one soldier that died. my son was kept. he was 27-year-old. and he was a muslim american. i want to ask mr. trump, would my son have a place in your america? >> as political ads go, all politics aside, it is impact full and it is an emotional ad. is this part of clinton's closing argument? certainly, like a closing punch i would say. if you go back to the convention when donald trump attacked the kh khan's. it was the first time we saw across the board.
12:11 pm
people were looking at it negatively and they still represent that. it is an emotional ad and speaks to people. i think it will have a good and presignificant impact on voters. >> john stanza, thanks so much clinton, appreciate it. >> good to be here. >> coming up, bridge gate bomb shell, a former aid of chris christie testified, not only he knew about the george washington bridge lane closures back in august of 2013, lane closures lasted for days. the governor gave the go ahead as the testimony. we are going live at the courthouse after the break. >> we are going to iraq, where they are gaining momentum from freeing mosul. >>

12:21 pm
e-mail is and what she's saying is look as what adam were saying. that e-mail is her kerrserving between winestein and chris christie. >> there is a lot of people who have that title. the title did not mean much. it was hard for people to believe that briget kelly would be ghiciven in the order of tha magnitude. >> that's more plausible. >> we'll hear christie's side of the story at some point >> yes, he's been called en. there is a separate thing that's that emerged of a local activist took the testimony that emerged in the trial. he used the provision of new jersey law to file a complaint of chris christie. he's going to come up and testify.
