"msnbc live" starts right now. good morning, everyone, i'm alex witt. we begin our breaking news overnight. the loss of a woman many called america's tv mom. florence henderson, the star of the cult classic "the brady bunch," has reportedly died of heart failure. the actress burst on to the scene about a blended family. generations of americans grew up watching reruns of that show. a favorite of millions around the world, henderson was surrounded by her friends and family when she died in los angeles last night. henderson was also on broadway and made countless television appearances, including "the tonight show." she was the first woman to host when johnny carson took time off. maureen mccormick tweeted, florence henderson was a dear friend for so many years in my

been killed. officials say the service member was killed when an ied detonated halfway between raqqah and turkey. it is the first combat death for the u.s. military in syria since the conflict resolved. one other american was injured, as well. right now a massive man hunt under way in central california for two escaped inmates. 26 year old lafen campbell and chavez escaped late on thanksgiving eve. authorities say four inmates cut the bars of their window, then they used bed sheets and clothing to rappel down from their cell. two inmates were immediately caught. police are investigating how they got ahold of the tools used to cut the bars, but sheriff's deputies add this particular section of the jail is the oldest part of the facility, constructed in the 1950s. officials say it's unclear if

the inmates are armed, but they should be considered dangerous and desperate. authorities are searching for two women said to be armed and driving a dark suv. they are suspected of abducting a california mother more than three weeks ago. 34-year-old mother of two sherry papua knee was found safe earlier this week. although bound, she was able to flag down a passing motorist. papini vanished, she has been treated and released from a hospital. in our thanksgiving holiday edition of quick hits, miss piggy to the rescue. there was a moment during the macy's thanksgiving day parade right after the puppet diva sang the duet the parade float moves suddenly. to tony bennett nearly takes a spill. okay, great job, miss pigy. new york city police officer who was shot on duty last year

through israeli city. forcing thousands of evacuations. authorities say firefighters battling the blaze have reined it in. there have been no causalities, but hundreds of homes have been damaged. 14 smaller fires are still raging. the fire has spread now to the west bank. israeli leaders blame arsonists for some of the blazes, calling them terrorists. quite a brawl breaks out in the middle of a taping of a russian tv talk show in moscow after a polish journalist insulted the living conditions in russia. well, that host challenged him and other guests on the show chimed in, so watch as he punches the polish man in the face. whoa! although this makes for interesting tv, the program was not aired in russia. the channel just uploaded this video to youtube instead. donald trump's signature plane became a staple of many rallies during the presidential campaign. it is without a doubt one of the most recognizable planes in the country with, of course, except one, air force one.

so how do these boeing jets compare? we take a closer look at both planes. >> reporter: they are the two most famous planes in the skies, air force one, the most secure airplane in the world. and trump's own plane, perhaps the most ostentatious. one represents the strength of the united states. it even has its own movie. >> get off my plane. >> the other, the strength of the trump brand, as seen in this promotional video. >> you'll notice the seat belts, as well as everything else, are 24 karat gold plated. >> reporter: when donald trump assumes his presidency, is he upgrading his ticket with air force one or taking back to basic economy? let's do the numbers. air force one is a souped up boeing 747 coming in at 231 feet long. it can seat more than 100 and reach top speeds of over 700 miles per hour. trump's plane is a much smaller 757.

it's only 155 feet long, seats only 43, and reaches speeds of 660 miles per hour. >> when you get on air force one, you are struck by the sheer enormous size. all of the white house, the defense department and some other departments get crammed to one airplane. >> reporter: trump's plane is no budget airline. it has gold plated seat belts, a bathroom with gold plated fixtures, onboard home theaters, even a special vip lounge. a trumpish flair that could be brought to air force one. >> the president can put anything he wants on air force one. there's an enormous budget to take care of the president. >> reporter: it makes up for in what's most important, security. it has safety shields that block electromagnetic pulses, a fully functioning hospital, and advance communications capabilities, including 87 different telephones so the president is always in touch. for air force one, security is priority number one.

ago, turned the star-spangled banner into a performance for the ages. a half a day of trading hits wall street. 137 million american shoppers go wild, and donald trump working to keep carrier in the u.s.. steve is here to make sense of it all. good morning, steve. >> alex, thank you very much, indeed. it's going to be an absolutely megatime for retailers. the national retail federation says holiday sales will be up 3.6% over this period. online sales over the cyber monday, today, and thanksgiving, as well, are going to be 8.4 billion dollars, absolutely huge. and, of course, record figures. be careful, though, a lot of debt, 3.7 trillion of consumer debt, that's another record in the united states. elsewhere, the protests we've seen across the country. a lot of trump supporters are blaming it very firmly on the billionaire investor george soros. george soros says it's absolutely nothing to do with him, but he's, of course, a long-time democratic donor.
