said, there's great confusion. nobody really knows. and hacking is very interesting. once they hack, if you don't catch them in the act, you're not going to catch them. they have no idea if it's russia or china or somebody, it could be somebody sitting in a bed someplace. >> so why would the tcia put ou the story that the russians wanted you to win. >> i don't think they're putting it out. i think the democrats are putting it out. if you read the stories, the various stories, there's disputing, they're disputing. and certain groups don't necessarily agree. personally, it could be russia. i don't really think it is, but who knows. i don't know either. they don't know, and i don't know. >> someone hacked. we don't like that. i don't like it. no one wants it. we want to protect american interests. it's america first. i don't want the dnc hacked.

john bolton believes it could have been a diversion from the obama administration. >> it's not clear to me just pi peering in from the outside that this was not a false flag operation. let's remember what james comey said dealing with hillary's home brew server. he said we found no direct evidence of foreign intelligence service penetration, but given the nature of this, we didn't expect to. so the question that has to be asked is why did the russians run their smart intelligence service against hillary's server but their dumb intelligence services against the election. i believe that intelligence has been politicized in the obama administration to a very significant degree. >> reactions to the allegations of russia's involvement have varied. john cornyn of texas responded all of this quote, news of russian hacking has been going

expected to be named the next secretary of state. trump's top aides remain concerned about his relationship with vladimir putin. some are urging that the choice be delayed. tillerson has spent his entire career at exxon. his rise was marked by ambitious projects with russia. in the 1990s, he oversaw the sack lynn island project. five years ago, exxon signed a multi-billion dollar deal with the russian-owned oil company to drill in the arctic, something the russians couldn't do without american expertise. the deal led to tillerson receiving the order of friendship declaration and later a billion barrel oil discovery off russia's northern coast in 2014. they were about to start drilling, but the project was halted when the u.s. and

european unions levied sanctions against russia for its aggression against ukraine. exxon said those sanctions were costing the company $1 billion. tillerson has fought against the sanctions saying in may 2014, we don't find them to be effective, unless they are very well implemented. we always encourage the people who are making those decisions to consider the very broad collateral damage of who they really are harming with sanctions. alex? >> and of course the possibility of rex tillerson being selected to li lead the state department, marco rubio tweeted being a friend of vladimir is not an attribute i'm hoping for for secretary of state. john mccain said tillerson would have to face some tough questions. >> vladimir putin is a thug and a bully and a murderer, and i

and $4 billion for an airplane, which is, who knows, but when you're talking about the kind of money, i said who gives these orders out? but i think i'm going to impose a ban that anybody who gives out these massive military contracts should never, ever be allowed to work, i don't mean in five years in ten years. should never be allowed to work for the companies that make the equipment. >> and now dominating the headlines, a massive deal between the jet manufacturer and tehran. more on this, i want to bring in our tehran bureau chief, this is a watershed moment in the wake of the iran nuclear deal. iran has been doing business with other countries since the deal was in place, but not like this with an american company. >> reporter: not since the revolution in 1979. america was iran's biggest

trading partner which virtually ground to a halt after the revolution. and the iranians here are touting it as a big victory. because they've been complaining that there's been no tangible results since the nuclear deal was inked a little over a year ago, and now they've got a deal with boeing for 80 planes as you said, over ten years, worth $17 billion. so it's a really big deal for the iranians, and it has been criticized in the states. there are groups saying boeing shouldn't have made the sale to iran. president-elect trump has also been very critical over iran and it will be interesting to see how he navigates their deal with iran, but it's a big deal for iran and something that iran really needed, ali, because their aging fleet has one of the worst aviation records in the world. >> and it's got a very big air traffic industry. competing airlines. i notice a deal has a lot of triple sevens, which are not

usually used in the country, that means for international flights. it's worth noting they're also working on a deal with boeing's main competitor, airbus. >> reporter: that's right. they're almost playing the two against each other to sigh what ki -- see what kind of a good deal they can get. iranians can't get enough planes, their planes are in really, really bad shape. the hat racks have fallen off mid flight. it's had a terrible safety record. so they really do need an abundance of planes and parts which they were unable to get during the sanctions. >> our bureau chief in tehran. good to see you. thank you. oil getting a huge boost this morning after opec and non-opec oil producers agreed on a deal to cut oil production. last i checked up almost 5% this morning. >> yes, that's right, moving at

a range of 4% to 5% higher this morning. and it is the first deal between opec and non-opec members since 2001. so you can't play down the significance of this one. yes, there are some fears over full compliance, when you talk about the level of the cuts that were agreed. but i was just speaking to an analyst from energy aspects. he told me not overly concerned about it, because even without full compliance, he still sees prices going to $60 a barrel for u.s. wti crude in the first half of next year and in the second half of 2017 getting to $68 a barrel. nevertheless, the consensus seems to be that this deal will continue to push oil prices even higher. elsewhere, president-elect donald trump is expected to hold a round table meeting with the biggest names in tech on wednesday. recode has reported that apple ceo tim cook and sheryl sandberg are among the guests expected to

be attending that round table. the microsoft ceo should be in attendance as well. there have been mixed reports over whether or not tesla ceo elon musk will be there. but nevertheless, this is a big meeting when you consider that the president-elect has had a bit of a mixed history with silicon valley thus far. we did hear from oracle ceo saying that he wants to talk to the president-elect about tax changes that he thinks could be encouraging r the tech sector as a whole. another big name to check out is whether amazon ceo bezos will be attending. >> he's still trying to get him there, but he's got other commitments that he's trying to change. we'll see whether elon musk shows up. thank you so much. still ahead, we have more big business news. another big investigation involving wells fargo and claims

all right, here's one for you. just two months after federal regulators said that wells fargo had set up millions of phony accounts, the company may have found itself in hot water again. new allegations say that the company may have been involved in life insurance fraud in partnership with prudential. gadi schwartz has more. >> reporter: it was one of the most wide-spread cases of consumer abuse and fraud in history. employees fired after the los angeles city attorney filed a lawsuit which alleged bankers set up customers for millions of unwanted accounts to meet aggressive sales quota.

now a new whistle-blower report aimed at prudential, saying they found accounts linked to unmanned kiosks set up in wells fargo banks. >> they did set clients up without their knowledge or consent. >> reporter: the investigators say think found evidence that spanish-speaking customers and others may have been pushed into policies by wells fargo. >> they wanted to go to wells fargo first. perhaps they could just sweep us under the rug and not have to report it or let it be known to the public. i strong lly believe that we we terminated because we were raising the red flags to senior management. >> reporter: prudential released a statement saying these employee terminations were entirely unrelated to wells
