whether he had heated words with world leaders. in a transcript excerpt of a call between president trump and the mexican president last week president trump said he was ready to send u.s. troops to stop, quote, bad hombres down there unless the mexican military does more. he said it is absolutely false that the president of the united states threatened to send troops to mexico. the call came after the mexican president canceled a trip to washington. the reported transcript did not specify who or what the bad hombres are. he used the term in both reference to terrorism and drug.

turnbull on saturday. the official read out of the call says both leaders emphasized the enduring strength and closeness of the u.s.-australia relationship, calling it critical for peace, stability and prosperity in the asia pacific region and globally. but according to the "washington post," trump informed turnbull that he had spoep to four other world leaders on saturday, including russian president vladimir putin and that this was the worst call by far. they are primarily from countries on the recent travel ban. iran, iraq, sudan, and somalia with some syrians. according to "the post" the president claimed that he was going to get politically killed. and accused australia of seek to go export the next boston bombers. >> there will be extreme vetting

can i ask given your position with politico, your reaction on capitol hill? are republicans going to get behind trump's diplomatic approach? >> that is something we're going to find out as early as this morning. it's likely that we're going to see some dissent on this. we know that people like john mccain and lindsey graham have been very willing to vocally criticize the president on matters of foreign relations. we saw bob corker, a staunch trump ally in the senate, split with trump on the roll-out of his travel ban, and so i think that when it comes to grading an ally like australia, when it come to ts report of a thrt to invade mexi, you will start to see republicans on capitol hill speak up. >> okay. we thank you for doing so.
