good morning, everyone. thursday, november 2. i'm ayman mohyeldin alongside yasmin vossoughian and louis burgdorf. calling for the execution of the attacker who authorities said cared out the motor vehicle attack that killed eight and injured dozens more. asked to hang the isis flag in his room. killed eight people. badly injured 12. should get death penalty. yesterday the suspect who was hit with federal charges of providing material support to a terrorist organization and destruction of a motor vehicle causing death. now according to the court documents, said he was inspired to carry out the truck attack by isis videos he watched on his cell phone. fbi says he had 90 videos and nearly 4,000 mainlies, many appeared to be isis related propaganda. complaints also said he rent add truck on october 22.

second man of interest. where does that stand this morning? >> reporter: good morning, they spoke to that second person and found he is no longer interested in the investigation. that much we can tell you. where he can also tell you this is the bike path itself right on the west side of lower manhattan. just where this white pickup truck from home depot came barrelling through, killing eight people. most foreign visitors. five from argentina. one from belgium and two americans. he told the fbi he felt good about what he had done. made a trial run a week ago sunday to find oat which turns he was going to make because the plan was to go onto the brooklyn bridge. he made it that far. hit the school bus with children inside. one was critically injured in the attack as well. see the video of him wondering around. and finally put down by officer nash who is held a hero tuesday

everything. he had everything going for him. believe me, my son is the kind of guy that said -- i wish every night he was in his room. we ate at the same table every night. celebrating 30th anniversary of high school graduation. a mother with two young sons was also killed during the attack. president trump placed a call to "new york times" yesterday afternoon to refute some information. after two aides were indicted and a former policy adviser pled guilty, the president wanted to say, quote, i'm not under investigation as you know. that is not what his chief of staff, john kelly, said on monday.

welcome back, everybody. i'm yasmin vossoughian and alongside ayman mohyeldin and louis burgdorf. new information about the new york city terrorist and alleged plans. hit with federal charges for bribing material support to a terrorist organization and violence of a motor vehicle in the attack that killed eight and injured a dozen more. criminal complaint, told the fbi that after the attack on the west side highway, planned to drive to the brooklyn bridge to hit more people. he also said he wanted to kill as many people as he could. wanted to display isis flag in the front and back of the truck. according to the fbi decided against it because he didn't want to draw attention to himself. >> also learned he was interviewed by the department of homeland security back in 2015 because he was listed as a point of contact by two men alleged to have majoverstayed visas.

bring us up to speed on the latest with the investigation. what direction is it going. >> reporter: well, i think right now, ayman, they're trying to figure out if there are other people involved or new about the plans he had. there was a gentleman yesterday the fbi talked to. very interested in talking with him. after speaking with him realized he's of no interest going forward. here's what we know this morning. saw two bicyclists, probably three or four all in all this morning. back on the bike path here. the truck came down from the north to the south here. striking eight bicyclists and people on this path. here comes another bicyclist right now. killing eight of them. two americans, six foreign nationals. he made this turn in the truck and ended up on chamber street just a block east where he ran into the school bus and disabled

his vehicle. the plan apparently according to the fbi is he wanted to continue on to the brooklyn bridge. that didn't happen. and a 28-year-old nypd officer hail aed a hero. put an end to this. striking the suspect in the abdomen. in terms of investigation will go on quite some time. police are done with their work on the ground in new york city. new yorkers as hay do best are back to work and going back to school as usual, which is what everybody would like to see. guys, back to you. it white house says it's considering the suspect an enemy combatant. open to sending him to guantanamo bay. >> do you want the assailant from new york -- >> i would certainly consider that. i would certainly consider that.

placing the blame on chuck schumer. along with jeff blake, came to the defense of chuck schumer and said perhaps this is not the time a native of new york should be attacked. on the premise of chuck schumer, he was the author back in the 1990s, also part of the gang of aide on 2013 that would have ridded the u.s. immigration system of that diversity visa lottery program. >> let me ask you about this. the president also commented on his approval rating. been talking about that recently over the past couple of days since our own polls came out with the "wall street journal" numbers getting lower and lower. he had comment saying i just got fantastic numbers. listing his biggest accomplishments including deregulation and low unemployment rates. the numbers are actually telling a very different story with him losing numbers even among his

base of white uneducated men. >> exactly. the numbers we have run counter to that. see the nbc news wall street journal poll that came out on sunday. 38% approval rating. at the same time, the president the putting the numbers out there. he got the numbers from the rnc chairwoman. important to also remind people that in many of these swing states when it comes down to elections, remember a year ago just before the election, it's not like donald trump had great stayingering numbers at that time either. we'll he's at 38% approval rati rating, the lowest it's been since a month after he took office, when it comes to electorally, you have to look at virginia governor race. tuesday. you have a situation where there's a republican candidate trying to walk the line of trump support versus trying to get more establishment republicans on his side. the president still has i guess
