7:00 am
i'm reminded of, that i love new york. thank you have much. that wraps us up this thanksgiving hour. i'll be back at 11:00 a.m. i hand you back to new york city where my colleague will take over. thanks. have a good rest of your day. i'll take to you in about an hour. we want to get right to the news. the president made in just the past hour. came in a message from president trump to the troops. while it included thanks for their service on this holiday, the president unexpectedly used as a time to discuss the stock market and what he sees as his economic accomplishments. for more on this kelly is following the president from his vacation spot in florida. it's good to talk to you on this something morning. thanks so much for working. talk to us more about the president's message today. >> reporter: right back at you and happy holidays to our viewers who are probably working on their preparations for family meals today.
7:01 am
the president will celebrate the holiday with his family at his mara lago home. it is tradition that presidents will do some type of activities especially as it relates to u.s. military personnel on a holiday. the president did that using a video conference with different branches and sending out a message of good will on this holiday. he did what we've seen the president do in my of these instances which is play his own greatest hits about his accomplishments in office for these first ten months and talking about things like the economy. he did thank those who are serving and wish them well and talked about some of the advances he thinks his administration is bringing about to support the men and women in uniform. here is a bit of president addressing troops today. >> for each of you i know it's hard to by away from home this time of year. we're doing well at home. the economy is doing really great.
7:02 am
when you come back you'll see with the jobs and companies coming back into our country and the stock market hit a record high. unemployment's the lowest it's been in 17 years. you're fighting for something real. you're fighting for something good. >> reporter: an unusual message directed toward those on duty and in harm's way. it is very typical of the president to want to when he knows there are media cameras there and he made a point of saying that to those assembled on the other end of the video conference that the white house travel pool, the dozen or so journalist who is are always closest to the president that they were present and making the point his words would be seen far beyond the military institutions that were connected through video conference. he also said something on twitter that was not on husband public schedule that he will be spending time at a coast card
7:03 am
outlet here in florida. we await to find out what he will be doing. we suggest at some point they'll sit down as family and have their holiday meal. >> thank you. i want to bring in my panel now. jonathan allen is a national political reporter and sarah westwood is a white house correspondent for the washington examiner. welcome to you both on this thanksgiving morning. happy thanksgiving to you both. what did you make of the president's message? >> i think the broad message there is that the president is making america great again while these folks are risking their lives abroad. i think that's the message he's trying to get across to them is they shouldn't be worried about what's going on back at home. i think there were some phrasing in there. there were some things that critics will have a field day with him taking credit for letting the troops win is something you'll hear a lot about over the next 24 hours. i think saying the troops are fighting for something real now is something you'll hear a lot
7:04 am
about over the next 24 hour pps a lot of those troops were fighting before president trump became president and thought they were fighting for something real then. >> of course, the president talking about the economy, wanting to get tax reform passed. that's just around the corner. a lot on his docket, that's for sure. this is not the first time he has used the armed forces as a sort of backdrop to talk about his own agenda. he spoke at the coast guard graduation and complained about the media. he said no politician in history has been treated worse or more unfairly. why do can you think the president here turns non-political events into political ones? >> right. this is unusual for any president to inject presidents into an apolitical moment like the thanksgiving address to the troops. it's not unusual for president trump. it's something he frequently does any time he's given an opportunity to off the off the
7:05 am
cuff. his fruflstration they didn't repeal obamacare. any time he's given the space to drift back to his key issue, he does. he was reading off a set of prepared remarks but he did inject some of his own thoughts in there. >> certainly not messages we heard from presidents before. i want you to stay with me because i want to get your reaction on the next story. a new accuser saying long time congressman john conyers was verabve verbally abusive to her. the fire brand still has one important defender in his corner, president trump. i want to go to blake mccoin who is standing by in chicago. it's good to talk to you this morning. tell us the latest on congressman conyers.
7:06 am
>> reporter: the em bbattled congressman from michigan has a new accuser coming forward accusing him of abusive behavior. the two previous accusations have been sexual harassment allegations. this one is not. former employee of his who was an attorney who worked for three years for him back in '90s accuses him of abusive behavior towards her and other staff. listen to what he's saying. >> one time he called me out into the hall and screamed at me for not wearing stockings when he never wore socks. there was the incident in which i walked into his office after i had been called up there and he was walking around in his underwear. >> we have a new statement today from congressman conyers attorney saying while these alleges are serious.
7:07 am
many people would be out of work including many members of the house, senate and including the president. congressman conyers has no plans to resign. we have not heard from the congressman since the allegations broke a week ago. the congressmen says he does plan to speak publicly after the thanksgiving holiday. >> thank you. i want to bring back my panel. sarah, i'm going to start with you. congressman conyers remaining e defiant saying he's not going to resign. you make a 20,000 plus pay out to an accuser, you think that's realistic? >> i think it will be hard to hang on in this post-harvey weinstein. the kind of allegations would be difficult to hung on through even before this national conversation turned to sexual harassment in the workplace. now that as a society we're talking about these issues and we're instituting a new very strict zero tolerance policy in the private sector, it's only
7:08 am
matter of time before that kind of policy gets imposed in washington. i think even for someone like senator al franken, hanging onto your seat through this environment is going to be very difficult if you're accused by multiple women of misconduct. >> jonathan, one of arguments that conyers is making is pretty similar we heard from bill o ree lee. just because you make a pay out doesn't mean you're guilty. >> i don't think the public buys that. i think most of the public's reaction to these things is if there's a settlement in a suit like this then it was because the person who was accused even if they don't admit wrong doing, believes it was worth paying money to not have whatever happened exposed. that usually means there was some level of misconduct. that's how i think the public views it, not necessarily the law. >> i want to turn to roy moore which has been top of mind for a
7:09 am
lot of people. obviously president trump making his voice heard with regards to roy moore. i want to read a part of the piece you wrote. trump sured up his own base by standing with a candidate who many republicans view as a good guy who has been unfairly maligned. you think that's what this is about? is this really about his base? >> i think part of it is about his base. part of it is about wanting that republican vote in the senate. not shrinking the republican caucus from 52 to 51 because you have the tax bill on the line. i think the president when faced with a question of whether to stand with his political base and his political base in alabama standing with roy moore or to not do that, to stray from it has shown his inclination is almost always to gravitate towards the base.
7:10 am
you still haven't had the president endorse roy moore but he came close to it. >> isn't this also personal for the president as well. he's got ten plus accusers he said he would sue once he elected president. he absolutely did not do that. if he were to say roy moore needs to step aside, he would be making it personal as well and he would be the focus of things. >> it would be difficult to argue with credibility that roy moore needs to step aside because he does have his own problems in that department. >> that's why he said he didn't do it when he was in that press gaggle. it's like he said he didn't do it which is what president trump said. >> he could have made his policy to stay silent on all of these sexual misconduct allegations but once he started tweeting about the al franken accusers then he opened the door to being forced into responding to the
7:11 am
roy moore allegations and he did so in way that surprised a lot of people which was to more or less stand with roy moore in the face of these allegations saying they are 40 years old. it's suspicious the timing and we don't need a democrat until the seat. that's not quite endorsing roy moore because that would be a pretty self-destructive move but he got as close to the line as he could get. >> we saw very directed shift from the white house from kelly ann conway on fox news trying to turn the conversation to issues away from the morality issue with roy moore and talk about the fact you need to vote republican for this and for that for tax reform. doug jones in his state of alabama is trying to make it about morality. i want to play a part of his ad and then we'll talk. >> gina richardson, wendy miller, kelly harrison clark and the list is growing. they were girls when roy moore
7:12 am
immorally pursued them. now they are women, witnesses of his disturbing conduct. will we make their abusers a u.s. senator. >> does it work? >> i think it works for fund raising for democrats outside of alabama. i think the big question is will it work inside of alabama. i was there last week. i think there's a lot of republicans who would like to be able to vote for roy moore and still have some serious doubts and there are others who think they might vote for doug jones or stay home and have some doubts about that. i think the race is flulid. if kellyanne conway and president talks about that, it will be good for roy moore.
7:13 am
>> i can't imagine anybody agrees that roy moore was right to pursue a relationship with teenagers. nobody is making that argument. i would be shocked. >> the argument that doug jones wants to have that argument. he wants to have the argument about whether roy moore was immoral in what he was doing. if that's what this race turns on, it will be to doug jones benefit. if the race is about issues and politics and who is on the supreme court and your tax levels, that's going to benefit roy moore. that's why you're hearing the president and his allies make those arguments. >> thank you so you both. happy thanksgiving. all right. focusing on michael flynn. why a former prosecutor believes robert mueller will get associates to flip. killed in the line of duty. baltimore police officer shot with his own gun. why there's growing suspicion of foul play over testimony he was set to give against fellow cops. we'll be right back.
7:15 am
7:17 am
welcome back. new details in the search for a missing argentina submarine. an unusual noise was detected hours after they lost contact. the sound is consistent with a nonnuclear explosion. the search will continue until they are sure about their fate. there's new developments in bob mueller's russia investigati investigation. he's now zeroing in on a friend of michael flynn. in recent weeks multiple witnesses have been questioned about his lobbying work on behalf of turkey. joining me now a former federal prosecutor. happy thanksgiving to you. thank you for joining me this morning. what do you think this latest development is going to mean for michael flynn now that mueller's investigation is zeroing in on
7:18 am
some of his closest associates? how likely do you think it is that theese guys will flip? is there one of the obvious things is this new gentleman could appear in the indictment with mr. flynn. we already heard news that flynn's son is also someone that mueller has the evidence to charge. this gives us yet another individual and there's always an advantage for a federal prosecutor to charge multiple people in an indictment or multiple people in connection with a particular crime because as you point out, one or more of them might consider cooperating with the government. what we call flipping in exchange for a recommendation of a reduced sentence. mueller is getting his ducks in the row, assembling the evidence and witnesses so he's ready to have as much evidence as
7:19 am
possible when those indictments are presented to the grand jury. >> we're already seeing this. he's ploo if people don't know this, he's close to turkey's president who alleged to offer flynn money to ship his top political rival from the u.s. back to turkey. we're watching the president who is visiting the coast guard station in riviera beach. we're not sure he's going to be making remarks but you see the president there alongside the first lady. we are awaiting to see if he will be making remarks on this thanksgiving holiday. let's listen in. >> it's an honor to be here. the coast guard always respected but if you're looking at it as a brand, there's no brand that went up more than the coast
7:20 am
guard with what happened in texas. i would say in particular, texas has been incredible. you save 16,000 lives. nobody knows that. 16,000 lives. that was bad one. it was a big water job. i guess it was the biggest water jump they've ever seen. florida hit. that one well. there's no brand that's gone up more than the coast guard.
7:21 am
incredible people. you've done an incredible job. i love coming in here and doing this with you today. i think it's -- we have to keep you very well fed. this is good stuff. it's an honor. this is the first lady, you know. >> happy thanksgiving. >> we went together to texas. we saw what you were doing. you just followed that storm, right next to that storm. you saved so many people. i still haven't figured out how people take their boats out into a hurricane. some day you'll explain it. they were doing it to save their boat in many cases. they're not thinking about their life. they're thinking about their boats. they go out in a boat and think think they have a wonderful boat. they've had it for years. it can weather anything and then they have 25-foot waves crashing down.
7:22 am
i want to thank you. on behalf of the whole country and on behalf of us, what a job you've done. thank you very much. i'll also take questions. should we leave the media here to do the questions or should we tell the media? it's thanksgiving. let's let the media stay. anybody have any questions about the country, how we're doing or any of those things? i love it when you don't. that means you're doing great. i love that. that's the greatest. the press i know doesn't have any questions. if you do, we won't take them but that's already. the press has plenty of questions. the country's doing really well. stock market all time high. this is all good stuff. i just spoke to a lot of your friends in afghanistan and iraq. we spoke to the uss monterey.
7:23 am
great missile ship. our country is doing great. you folks are fighting so hard and working so hard. it's nice that you're working for something that's really starting to work. we've cut back so much on regulation and all the waste and the abuse. that means your 401(k)s and all the things you have. even if you're in the military. you have a country that's starting to turn. we won't have a strong country. we won't have a country where i can buy new coast guard cutters and not have to worry about it. that's what we're doing.
7:24 am
you know they were cutting back for years. a lot of planes in particular. it's almost like an invisible fighter. i was asking the air force guys and saying how good is this plane. they said, you can't see it. i said but in a fight. the enemy cannot see it. even if it's right next to it. i can't see it. nobody has the equipment we have. it's sad when we're selling our equipment to other countries but
7:25 am
we're not buying it ourself. that's all changed. the stuff we have is a little bit better too. we're really proud of the coast guard. i walked in today and gene said the day i got elected, the following morning, they were putting up the statement i made right on your front door. right on your glass. the first thing i noticed, i said look at that. i said did you put that up just for me because i happen to be coming here today. you did that the first day. that tells me something. that tells me something. thank you very much. let's go, fellas. come on. let's get up here.
7:26 am
>> help yourself. >> this is good stuff. this is made by trump people. thank you. >> there you go. the president visiting the coast guard station in florida. praising the troops and the coast guard for hurricane recovery because of the major hurricane season that we had. the coast guard having a lot to do with all the help and recovery and a lot of those citizens in those regions needed and received. the president, of course, touting the economy and the stock market and where that's at. we showed earlier in the hour as well and getting a dig in at the media but allowing us to stay. we thank the president for that again. the president visiting the coast guard station. we're going to go to afghanistan in just a little bit. he's going to show us how the trooks are vis troops are celebrating their thanksgiving holiday.
7:27 am
i apologize. i had to cut you off for the president there. it's a thanksgiving holiday and the president and the first lady making their rounds. we were talking about michael flynn and how bob mueller has been entering a lot of associate of michael flynn and how he believered there could be a flip. the major question with regards to flynn is why is it you think flynn has not been charged? >> because a federal prosecutor wants to get all of your -- you want to get all of your evidence together. there's not an agreement amongst the jury and that's it. you don't get your guilty verdict. mr. mueller is interviewing from what these reports say many witnesses, he's getting everything lined up. he potentially is trying to get certain witnesses to cooperate
7:28 am
with him agree to testify against flynn. it's a smart thing to do when you're a prosecutor to get your ducks in a row because once you charge then there's going to be motions that are going to be filed against trying to dismiss the indictment by flynn's attorneys. they could try to have a very speedy trial. you never know what's going to happen. you could be on a bloclock, so speak. you want to have your ducks in a row before you charge. >> all right. thank you so much. have a good thanksgiving holiday. tom costello, we're going to go to a piece from him later in the show. right outside nbc headquarters here in rocker feller center is the parade. we see what the nypd is doing to make the route safer. what are you seeing out there? >> reporter: good morning and happy thanksgiving to you. i should tell you this has got
7:29 am
to be one of the safest places on the planet today because the security is in layers. so much that you can see and so much more that you can't see. they're all over here making certain that everyone's protected including take a look at this, we have the police as a part of parade and you should have heard people applauding as these guys go by. from big kids like me to little kids like this family, the mcdonald's from dallas, texas. how many times have you been to parade before in new york? >> none. >> never. what's the best part? >> that we're all together. >> i should tell you, a 6-year-old, 8 and double trouble with 11-year-old twins. they've been smiling this entire time. do you have a favorite balloon? >> i like them all. >> she likes them all this
7:30 am
that's like me. i like them all too. the one thing i can tell you that is wonderful about besides the fact it's thanksgiving is this day brings people from all across the country and they're all getting along. >> i love her answer there. how many times have you been to a parade? none. you have to love that. the honesty from children even when on television. i want to bring in former new york state homeland security director. it's good to talk to you this morning. appreciate you joining us. i want to play you some sound of nypt chief of patrol. he spoke with matt lauer on the today show. >> you can also cops with the heavy weaponary along the route. there will be cops you won't see. the entire route is secured. no cross bound traffic. no cars can get onto the route. we look at everything that happens around the world.
7:31 am
we adjust and make everything different as we go along. >> we're about a month after a terror attack happening in downtown new york city. the city is always on edge considering it's new york city and a focus for a lot of terror groups. what's the biggest challenge that security forces face in a city like new york with so many tourists coming to new york city. >> new york city has always been the center and the target for terrorism and we see that constantly from inspire magazine or any of the people who talk about where they want to come to. today it's a unique situation. . the nypd does this every year and baecause it's a national event, you take the resources
7:32 am
and make sure it will be here for the people. three reason, to deter, prevent and reassure. that's what they're doing. just as your reporter said, it's in layers. work agains way before today. is there anybody talking about trying to mount some type of attack. then you look at the parade route. the key to security and event like this is to eliminate the unknown to the extent possible so you don't have people who are able to do things like drive a car into this area and you saw the sand trucks. it's preventing, it's limiting the access of any type of vehicle into the parade area. >> i saw these huge sand trucks barricading along the central park route which i had never seen before.
7:33 am
what can you tell people on these parade routes tomorrow being plaqblack friday as well, they can feel more secure. what can they be doing and how can they feel more secure that things will be okay? >> any time i have friends traveling in areas that are unstable, that's not the united states, overseas, i tell them try to avoid large crowds. that's impossible today. it means about awareness and about being in communication with people and it's dpraet to -- great to enjoy the parade. let be police officers do their job. in the same sense you have to know what's going on around you. the cell phone is that great communication device and can also be that great distraction. >> thank you so much. >> thank you. i want to turn now to other focus if uniform making our lives safer.
7:34 am
>> we also want to give thanks to our loved ones, our amazing military families. i know they miss you and they miss you so deeply and so badly there. every bit as important as everyone else you work with. how are the troops spending the day out there? >> reporter: it's a mixture of fighting and fun. they started off with a football game. they have to be concerned about the security here. when we talk to people here, one thing that's clear is how much different the mission is now as opposed to two, three years ago. a lot of troops we're talking to have had multiple deployments here. some up to as many as nine. you get a lot of institutional memory on how the fight has changed. now it's primarily train, advise and assist. they are shooting off some
7:35 am
artillery. a couple nights ago they shot up flai flares so they can see what the taliban is doing. a lot of the area around here is contested by the taliban. the goal and i spoke to general nickelson, the goal really is to make sure that the afghan government controls more and more territory. they'll have 80% of the territory. as for that football game this morning, the enlisted guys beat the officers. >> good for them, i guess. what voters can't get away from on this holiday in the senate race between roy moore and doug jones. do republicans have the vote to get it done. we'll look at that. plap tis.

>> it would be significant. donald trump received the largest vote total. to have the backing of donald trump at this point is not insignificant especially when the allegations made against trump one year ago are not dissimilar to those roy moore is taking fire for right now. i should note that roy moore's campaign is 19 days away from the special election. doug jones is running quite an operation. you have the tv on this morning and you see one doug jones add on after the other. two of those are florida operatives. he's naming these accusers by name and showing their pictures and telling the voters he used the word impomoral to remind voters of alleged past actions of roy moore. i want to tell you we focus so much on the politics of this. i want to tell you about a story
7:41 am
of this woman i talk to yesterday out in huntsville. she came up to me and goes this goes beyond roy moore. she said this is in her own workplace that she's hearing men defend him and defend several of these other men that are under push back for sexual harassment allegation ls and she said she endured six months of stalking. she said she never came forward to local officials because it was a small town and she said she struggles to this day, still has an anxiety. still seeking help and said when she hears voters that are under these conversations now saying they don't know why it would take 30 to 40 years for women to come forward, she goes it's beyond the politics of who is going to the u.s. senate. she says i never came forward and to hear men question now the stories of these nine women that are coming up with allegations of roy moore is tough. this goes beyond the politics here in alabama. >> incredibly touching to heat wave that first hand account
7:42 am
from that person you spoke to yesterday. i feel like a lot more people are having those types of sort of revelations and conversations amidst what's been going on for the last couple of weeks with so many different stories comingei out of sexual harassment. thank you. i want to turn now to baltimore where there are new details about a police detective murdered last week. detective sean suitor was killed one day before he was scheduled to testify before a federal grand jury in a corruption investigation into the activetiactivit activities of other officers. >> good day to you and happy thanksgiving. detective sean suitor wasn't just any officer shot and killed. he was also a federal witness against other police officers. the police commissioner says this case remains a homicide investigation. this morning baltimore police say detective sean suitor fatally shot by a gunman in the line of duty last week was
7:43 am
killed by his own gun just one day before he was set to testify before a grand jury investigation. >> we have evidence of a struggle between detective suitor and his killer. he was shot and killed with his own gun. >> reporter: that evidence. police are pointing to his clothing and a brief radio transmission he made. the fbi is working to enhance the radio audio. investigators say 43-year-old suitor and his partner for looking for a witness to an unsoevered 2016 homicide last week when they saw the shooter engaged in suspicious behavior. as suitor approached and tried to start a conversation, the suspect shot the detective in the head. >> we do not know where these shots came from. we have officers in bad locations. let's everybody's take cover somewhere. >> reporter: word that suitor was set to testify before a federal grand jury investigating a group of baltimore police officers who worked together on a firearms crime task force and charged with stealing money,
7:44 am
property an narcotics over two years. >> there's no information that has been communicated to me that detective suitor was anything other than a stellar detective, great friend, loving husband and dedicated father. >> detective was an 18-year veteran. he was also the father of five. he was not the target of any ongoing criminal investigation. police did take two people into custody for questioning but released them. the reward for information leading to the killer is now at $215,000 and a go fund me page has been set up for his family in his name. back to you. >> all right. thank you. what the president will ask republicans and democrats to put on their to do list before the end of the year and in the next hour his first television interview. what a texas pastor is saying after losing his teenage daughter in a mass shooting earlier this month.
7:48 am
next week all four congressional leaders, mitch mcconnell, paul ryan, chuck schumer and nancy pelosi will head to the white house. the president says he wants a tax bill on his desk by christmas and republicans insist they can make that happen but among other things, they also need to fund the government, raise the debt ceiling, do something about daca, pass more
7:49 am
disaster aid and renew the children's health insurance program and get this, congress has just 15 more working days this year. how is they only have 15 more working days? welcome to you both on this thanksgiving holiday. happy holidays to you both. happy thanksgiving. i'm going to start with you. 15 working days left. how is that they only have 15 working days left? i have way more than that. in what universe can they get all this done in that amount of time? is it realistic? >> the tax reform might not be realistic because it's such a difficult haul and you have six or seven senators with pretty strong objections. that's going to be a difficult thing for them to do despite their strong motivation. this is how congress governs. i use this almost with air quotes. they wait until the last possible minute every single year. >> because it's a negotiating
7:50 am
tactic? >> it's a tactic to not have your name on a bunch of disgraced votes. you want one vote a year. you don't want your name on legislation. that's the sad reality of how o branch has abdicated its responsibility in a thousand different ways. >> talk about schumer and pelosi in all this. do they have any leverage in all this? what do they want to walk away from this meeting with? >> one thing they want to walk away with is some of what has been expressed. daca is very important. some of the congressional hispanic members are at odds with other members of the house over how much they should be pushing for this in this legislation. daca is obviously very important. and the truth of the matter is going to matt's point, even obama talked about this. you cannot legislate and governor incrementally in this way. the question for democrats is among the issues that are important to us, how ideologically pure is the
7:51 am
president of the united states? i don't believe that he really is. so the question he already talked about some leverage or some sort of wiggle room on dhadac daca. will he move on that and upset his base or hold firm with his base and democrats will be at odds with this. one thing we sort of look forward to is the fact that pelosi and schumer have been able to hold the line on legislation. so even though they do need democratic votes to avert this shutdown, i'm confident the democrats will push for some meaningful legislation. >> there are no longer any republicans who are interested in shutting down the government, so we don't have that sense that we did back in 2012. >> do you think the dems are going to buy into using daca as leverage to get tax reform pushed through? that's a theory that's been pushed around out there that in order to get taxes pushed through -- >> i don't think you'll see that. you'll see obamacare stuff tied up.

i mean, president trump has done something interesting that people don't give him credit for because he's president trump and you don't want to give him credit. but he's kicked three pretty big issues back to congress with the clock ticking. daca is one of them. you've got six months. you've got sanctions, definitions with iran, right? and you also have the subsidies -- >> and that's a tactic that the president takes. he doesn't necessarily have to take responsibility if they fail. >> but also -- you're right about that, but it's also hey look, do your job. and all of those, there's a bipartisan fix. especially on the immigration piece of it. there's a way to do that. the question is, does congress have those muscles anymore to figure that out? >> it's interesting because even though, yes, president trump has kicked all of this back to congress, that is his tactic. it work for him for them not to do anything. that satisfies his base and that will gin up his base. he can say, look, this is what i talked about. >> they're not getting anything done.

>> we've already pushed out, you know, jeff flake and others because they couldn't tow the line i wanted them to tow. this actually fits into his narrative. but at the same time, the question is how strong are the republicans going to be particularly after losses in virginia. how strong are they going to be to get something done to go back to their constituents for the midterms. >> let's bring up what you brought up which is injecting health care. in an alaska paper, quote, repealing the individual mandate restores the freedom to choose. nothing else about the structure of the aca would be changed. she didn't specifically say whether she would support that in exchange for the tax bill. but you think the repeal of that mandate stays in there? >> i think you have a difficult time. susan collins will be a no because of that. you already have ron johnson from wisconsin saying he's a no because of the effect on pass through companies. and the chances of corker with this is small. so even having one no because of

the obamacare thing might be enough to get it lifted out. but the problem with that is, if you lift that out, the obamacare repeal individual mandate makes this better for long-term debt and deficit. but there are at least three, maybe four strong fiscal hawks there. corker, flake, langford, and young people don't talk about. but they don't want to add to the long-term deficit. all of this stuff will add to the long-term deficit. to the extent they're serious about being deficit hawks, they're going to be noes if you take out that base. >> i want soto say once again, works days. matt, basel. thank you. happy thanksgiving to you both. still ahead, everybody. my thoughts on the valuable lesson one man shares after admitting to harassment in the workplace. we'll be right back.
