little rocket man and now sick puppy as we just heard. is there concern among the national security members that this language is really complicated diplomatic efforts. >> there's absolutely concern about this. experts widely agree the best way to solve this crisis is to get north korea to the negotiating table. hurling these types of insults is not helpful and increases the chances of miscalculation that could launch some sort of military conflict. would be absolutely devastating to south korea and japan and other allies in the region. let's talk about something else happening yesterday. president retweeting fake videos. we have this president trying to build bridges with some predominantly muslim countries. the keyword being some. how does this affect those ropes, if at all. >> absolutely affect the impact of the relationship with eastern

i am awed by the courage my client showed to be the first to raise a complaint and to do so without making any demands other than the company do the right thing. variety magazine laying out a report of alleged misconduct. including exposing himself to employee in his office and inviting women employed by nbc late at night to his hotel room while covering the olympics. three unnamed women tell variety they were sexually harassed. accounts variety says, corroborated by friends or colleagues. the magazine also reports that several women made complaints to executives at nbc, which were ignored. then nbc news spoke person responded to that claim. we can say unekw kwiquivocally to monday night, we were not made aware of conduct. in september interviewed bill o'reilly who had just been fired from fox news. >> doesn't it seem safe to assume that the people at fox news were given a piece of information, given some evidence

new sanctions have any effect on quelling kim jong-un's nuclear determination. the previous sanctions have not worked. what are the chances this new round might. >> that is the key question. as you know, sanctions are a very blunt instrument. we've had round after round of sanctions at the united nations after emergency meeting after emergency meeting. and kim jong-un is still firing missiles. so you have to conclude that the sanctions still are not stopping him. so you know, what would new sanctions do? however, the u.s. is clearly not push i pushing calling on ail doll cous to cut ties with north korea. and asking president xi of china

it should be known a recent report suggested that they used taxpayer money to pay a severance package to a former staffer. he called that article misleading. now to the latest on the russia investigation. there are reports that bob mueller's team has questioned jared kushner about michael flynn siting a person familiar with the investigation. the associate d press reports that the interview happened earlier this month. took less than 90 minutes. aimed at establishing whether kushner has any information about the national security adviser. the associated press reports grand jury testimony scheduled for the coming days has been postponed. new developments fuel speculation flynn may be cooperating especially after last week's news his lawyer is no longer sharing information with the president's legal team.

joining us now, jacqueline klein. politico reporter. talk to us the about what ayman was discussing which is flynn. and the fact he may be cooperating. how is the national security community reacting to this. this is definitely a big development. it's just we're kind of waiting, waiting to see what comes next with the russia investigation. i don't think we've seen the end of this for sure. there's still a lot left to be done. people are saying we don't expect this investigation to wrap up this year. some people are saying the end of this congress so we could have another year for more revelation of this to come out. >> let me ask you quickly about the senate relations committee convening a panel to discuss the president's nuclear authority. there's been some concern about how that system of directing an order of nuclear strike would play out. what were some of tv key take was during this conversation on the hill. >> some senators expressed some concern that president trump has the authority to launch a nuclear strike in the case of a

first use strike. u.s. is not under attack and we are launching a weapon first. the panel of experts largely said they don't believe anything should change. there are while no one can stop the president from launching a nuclear weapon unless it's an illegal order, he does have to go through a numb of people who would counsel him and ultimately have to sign off to make it happen. >> also, rex tillerson as we've been reporting has come under fire for vacancies at the state department. also want to know how the national security community is reacting to this. >> some of the top national security lawmakers on capitol hill are definitely concerned about this. there was a letter sent to the state department earlier this month actually asking for a briefing about this exodus and what impact it's having on u.s. diplomacy. by senator john mccain sent a similar letter on the senate side calling it very troubling that so many top diplomats are leaving the state department. so it's definitely something the top national security lawmakers
