sighting. >> they are showing up looking like royalty, and over to amal's gorgeous dress, and the fascinating fascinator hat. >> and also, victoria beckham wearing her own victoria beckham. >> yes, look at how open it is, the slit from the neck no thigh. >> and the jackie, and keep in mind that she was pregnant at kate and william's wedding. >> so she is definitely not pregnant now. >> and i will have to tell you now that we have serena willi williams, and the queen of tennis. oh, my goodness! she looks absolutely degorgeous. >> and this is the co-founder of reddit who spent a lot of time in brooklyn and he has the hip ter vibe. he mett serena work on the computerer poolside at a conference in rome, and it is serena who gave him a hey, should we get together, and fast forward and here he is, and a spectacular guy, and i love that it he is in the moment.

the fall. >> and yes, yes, my waist is super smashing, and i look good. >> yes, and she was a weight watchers' spokesman. >> and another wedding. >> and can we talk about the fact that this, windsor wedding, and it does not happen often, and typically the weddings at a certain point, the royal families began to do the weddings in london. >> yes, the tradition for many, many decades was west mminster abby, which is over 1,000 years old, and that is where the queen's father and the chaplain of the king speech, and where he got mar trained queen princess ma margaret and everybody except for charles and diana did not get married there. >> and the sir elton john is spe speaking to none other than david and victoria beckham. >> i can't image anything cooler than that, and it is a rock star affair, and -- >> james blount and joss stone, and mumford and sons.

>> that is a nod no the hipsters. >> but ellton john, and think of the relationship with princess diana, and after she passed he rededicated the "candle in the wind" to her. >> it was her anthem. >> yes, and a significant influence on this royal family. >> some speculation that maybe elton john would perform at some point later and maybe in a reception or the party the frogmore house happening, and there is elton john again happening with the beckhams. >> and pip pa middleton and her family, including kate middleton's mother has joined the procession inside to take their seats, and obviously, these would be the -- >> once removed. >> and we know quite a few more royals are going to be making their way in. >> and system of the touches that are nontraditional here, and would that have been things that would have had to be approved by the queen or would this have been under the control

of the bride? >> well, harry and meghan would have had the say and the ideas behind it, and the queen will have been involved along the way in order to not only support the decisions that they are make, and i mean, she is well aware of the media attention surrounding the wedding as will harry and meghan, but also to support her grandsonned and to make sure that the day is a day that he can look back on with fondness and happiness. we saw it with williams' wedding as well when they were going to say, i don't know where to start with all of the dignitaries, and the plus point for meghan and harry, they don't have the pressure to invite the many, many politicians and world leaders and what have you from around the world. they have a little bit more freedom, and this is reflecting harry's place in the line of successi succession, because he is not going to become king, and little bit more weight off of the should shoulders a and there is a seen that going off of the royal engagements, and they can tell.

i was down there just behind on the high street. i was down there when they did the walk about yesterday, and you have got the impression that harry was much more relaxed and i think that is going to reflect him as a person. and then obviously, that is goi going to reflekt on the wedding itself. >> we believe that this is the car that is carrying meghan markle and her mother. yes, it is a rolls royce, and remember, that kate middleton arrived in her wedding in a rolls royce which is a departure from the weddings in the past where the weddings in the past where the bride had arrived in a carriage, but this is a furthering of a new modern tradition of of course not quite a modern car. >> and there she is. meghan markle sitting in the car -- >> yes. >> next to her mother. a thoroughly modern woman. she certainly is. we are talking about, you know, the changing traditions, and it was diana the first who when reciting the vows didn't say love, honor and obey, and she left the obey out, and we stau

same from kate middleton and i will take a leap here if i am a betting woman, but ghoit imai d imagine -- >> i don't expect meghan markle to say that. and they will be taking on the more modern version of the vows where she ist not promising to obey harry, and there she is in a vail -- >> her mother. >> and there was also a bet whether or not she would wear a vail. >> and the mother is going with the english tradition to wear a hat, and i will take a guess that those two are breathing in a couple of deep yoga breaths. >> i can't tell, but the can you tell if she has a tiara or not? >> i cannot, but i have a couple of fashion experts on the set, and jackie and lola, and what can you see? it is hard to the spot, but what are we seeing there? >> well, the big reveal here is, i don't know if it was stephanie or kate, but she had a vail on. >> and tiara? >> a headband or the tiara, and if it is a tiara, it is a small one. is it from the house of spencer

or something selected from the queen, because they were saying that she would be wearing something from diana's family, and something borrowed from the house of spencer. >> and it could have been -- >> it lookeds like princess diana has been photographed wearing it. and also telling me, she has gone with something demure. the arms are covered, and she is wearing a vail, and so she has gone with the traditional. they were thinking that she may expose the arm, because she is a young and vibrant bride, but she has gone with something very tradition aal and respectfulf of the position. >> well, for the royal wedding you have to dress not only for the personality, but the venue and the occasion. >> spoiler alert, the bride is wearing white. >> yes, indeed. absolutely. >> and we did see zahra phillips there who is very he ri pregnant, and princess michael of kent, and lovely to see, and there is zahra, and she is very heavily pregnant and just gorgeous, and i love her.

to this, and give us how this feels to see it so close. >> it is amazing, joy, because you can hear the bells and the cheering, and they are about to go into the castle gates right behind us, and little bit out of our eyesight unfortunately, and the excitement is certainly building. it is amazing. i mean, a ton of americans here, and a ton of brits are here obviously, and the eyes of the world are on meghan markle and prince harry right now. >> joy, we can hear the church bells, and again, i just mentioned it jokingly, because few years ago, a friend of meghan's who is in the fashion scene in new york set her up on a blind date with harry, and he had never seen the show "suits" but he knew as soon as he met her that he wanted a second date. and fast forward two year, and here she is at the most extraordinary wedding that we have seen up close and personal and stunning. you cannot overstate how grand and amazing this is. >> it is a blind date, and i don't know about you, but i have

been set up with the frogs on blind dates, and i have never gotten the prince. >> it never works out this way. she is literally becoming an american princess. she is going to be a part of the british royal family ashgsd i feel like it is the 1776 convergence in reverse, and like we have reemerged with the b british empire, and there is william and harry sitting next to each other. they are not looking nervous, but harry is a calm looking groom, and he is prepared for the moment sitting inside of st. georges cathedral and so much pomp and circumstance to it, but the couple is so accessible. >> they are used to it. >> i don't know if you were watching that the moment between prince harry and prince william as they were looking around and i was living in that moment on screen, and harry was looking up, and taking in the sights and the situation, and taking a deep breath, and he is not looking nervous, but he is smiling, and i think that he is pretty

nervous right now. >> as anybody would be. >> and harry there, and he is the dictionary look of a handsome devil. he has found his path and got there on his own. and we talked about it before and he had troubles in the past and we should put it into context, but what he has been is a naughty boy and not a bad guy in any way, and a lot of the school friends and well known here for the social posse, but that is the guy that we see, and we will see that tonight and some of the dear friends that he has around him, and so, yes, this is a royal event, but he is a different kind of oguy, and special one. >> can we give prince harry the fashion due, because he is wearing the frock coat here in my notes made from blue dough skin, and single breasted with a standup collar and cut and made by hand and intricate details around and the frock coat with the rank of major with the large embroidered crown.

the new testament says it this way, beloved, let us love one another, because love is of god, and those who love are born of god and know god. those who do not love do not know god. why? for god is love. there is power in love. there is power in love to help and heal when nothing else can. there is power in love to lift up and liberate when nothing else will. there is power in love to show us the way to live. set me as a seal on your heart, a seal on your arm, for love is as strong as death. but love is not only about a

young couple. now, the power of love is demonstrated by the fact that we are all here. two young people fell in love and we all showed up. but it's not just for and about a young couple who we rejoice with. it's more than that. jesus of nazareth on one occasion was asked by a lawyer to sum up the essence of the teachings of moses, and he went back and reached back into the hebrew scripts, and jesus said you shall love the lord your god with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. this is the first and great commandment. and the second is like it. love your neighbor as yourself. and then in matthew's version he added -- he said on these two, love of god and love of neighbor, hang all the law, all

the proveettes, everything that moses wrote, everything in the holy proveettes, everything in the script your, everything that the lord has been trying to kell the world, love god, love your neighbors, and while you are at it, love yourself. someone once said that jesus began the most revolutionary movement in all of human history, a movement grounded in the unconditional love of god for the world. and a movement mandating people to live that love. and in so doing, to change not only their lives, but the very life of the world itself. i'm talking about some power. real power. power to change the world.

if you don't believe me, well, there are some ole slaves in america's antebellum south who explained the dynamic love of power and why it has the power to transform. they sang it in a ritual even in the midst of their slavery. there is a balm in gilead to make the wounded whole. there is a balm in gilead to heal the soul. one said if you cannot preach like peter and you cannot pray like paul, you just tell the love of jesus, how he died to save us all, oh, that's the balm in gilead. this way of love, it is the way of life. they got it. he died to save us all.

he didn't die for anything he could get out of it. jesus did not get an honorary doctorate for dying. he wasn't getting anything out of it. he gave up his life. he sacrificed his life for the good of others. for the good of the other. for the well-being of the world. for us. that's what love is. love is not selfish and self centered. love can be sacrificial. and in so doing, becomes redepartmer redempti redemptive, and that way of unselfish sacrificial redemptive love changes lives and it can change this world. if you don't believe me, just stop and think for a minute. think and imagine, well, think

and man a world where love is the way. imagine our homes and families when love is the way. imagine neighborhoods and communities where love is the way. imagine governments and nations where love is the way. imagine business and commerce when love is the way. imagine this tired old world when love is the way, when love is the way, unselfish sacrificial redemptive, when love is the way. then no child will go to bed hungry in this world ever again. when love is the way, we will let justice roll down like a mighty stream and righteousness like an ever flowing brook. when love is the way, poverty will become history.

when love is the way, the earth will be a sanctuary. when love is the way, we will lay down or swords and shields. down by the riverside, to study war no more. when love is the way, there is plenty good room, plenty good room for all of god's children. because when love is the way we actually treat each other -- well, like we are actually family. when love is the way, we know that god is the source of us all, and we are brothers and sisters, children of god.

my brothers and sisters, that's a new heaven, a new earth, a new world, a new human family. and let me tell you something, old solomon was right in the old testament. that's fire. with this i will sit down. we have got to get y'all married. a french jesuit was arguably one of the great mind, one of the great spirits of the 20th century. a jesuit roman catholic priest, a scientist, a scholar, a mys c mystic. in some of highs writings he said, from his scientific background as well as his thoughio logical one. in some of his writings he said, as others have, that the discovery or invention or harnessing of fire was one of

the great -- one of the great scientific and technological discoveries in all of human history. fire, to a great extent, made human civilization possible. fire made it possible to cook food and to provide sanitary ways of eating, which reduced the spread of disease in its time. fire made it possible to heat warm environments, and there are made human migration around the world a possibility, even into colder climates. fire made it possible -- there is -- there was no bronze aim without fire, no iron age without fire, no industrial revolution without fire. the advances of science and technology are greatly dependent on the human ability and capacity to take fire and use it for human good. anybody get here in a car today? an automobile? nod your head if you did.

i'm guessing -- i know there were some carriages. but those of us who came on cars, fire, the controlled harnessed fire, made that possible. i know that the bible says and i believe that jesus walked on the water, but i have to tell you i didn't walk across the atlantic owing to get here. controlled fire in that plane got me here. fire makes it possible for us to text and tweet and e-mail and instagram and facebook and socially be dysfunctional with each other. [ laughter ] fire makes all of that possible. and he said fire was one of the greatest discoveries in all of human history. he then went on to say that if humanity ever harnesses the energy of fire again -- if humanity ever captures the energy of love, it will be the second time in history that we

female presiding bishop in 2006. he gave an address that had references of dr. king, had references of the black tradition, the black church tradition, something martin i'm sure is not typically heard inside of an anglican church. >> it was sensational. in a real sense, bar act and michelle obama were present. their spirit, to engage this artist artistry, to evoke dr. king, to talk with such passion about love as a force, channelling john lennon about imagining a better world. ♪

we have it. >> with his two front teeth missing. you know, it was such a beautiful, well thought out, brilliantly architected ceremony, ladies. i felt for a moment when i was listening to the most reverend michael curry like i was back at new birth cathedral faith international in miami listening to my bishop, bishop victor t. curry, preaching and that was a baptist church. it had that feel of sort of old time black church religion with the reality of the introduction of africans into the new world was violent. it was traumatic. it involved the reverse of colonialism, great britain of course the architect of much of the sort of colonial wreckage of what we call sometimes the third world. these two people, harry and meghan, have managed to take that history, distill the soul that was wrung out of it because

what came out of that trauma was a cultural firmament that lives in not just black america but in t the dispora. if you go to africa, we have a member of our panel who's from nigeria, if you go to where my father comes from, if you go to africa where britain predominated that same collective spirit is there. and it's in britain. you saw that coming together of these cultures in that room where you have these very episcopal moments with that beautiful young youth choir with that soaring voice, right, that soaring, very sweet and then you have that west indian piece all in one ceremony. >> they are coming. they are coming. they are almost here. >> here they come. here they come. they're coming right behind katy and i right now. stay with us. we're seeing the horses make their way and you know, it's amazing when you talk about the togetherness and that message. it's simply a message of unity

say soul. >> it didn't happen. >> let me say this. i think there is kind of like two groups of african-americans, some who are like who cares about the royal wedding and some black people that are so excited about this. the people that are not for it fell like as far as race relations she is not going to do much. while she is of mixed race she doesn't talk much about the black side of things. she doesn't weigh in for example, on black lives matter. >> right. >> and i think now that she's a royal she's not going to be allowed so we think to speak on politics and controversial matters. but i think that this ceremony will change that. >> actually groups of black women are having teas. >> he why, one group in seattle is having a brunch. they are calling the black af wedding brunch. >> and black royal wetting as jackie pointed out is trending. >> if you go on twitter.
