expressing as much optimism as he can ahead of the midterm mid. with the republicans risking losing the house, this could be a political loss for the administration. we've seen a lot of democratic leaders who would assume the leadership roles if they retake the majority have vowed to invest in the trump administration and delay a lot of their progress that they've made in rolling back a let of obama's former policies and their agenda. so i think this is vice president trying to be very optimistic, but in terms of finding common ground, you know, dara, it's so hard to tell at this point because we've seen republicans and democrats in congress haven't been able to find common ground on a slew of issues. we see both sides digging in their heals in both areas. we saw vice president pence talk about trade and the new revamped nafta. that could be something.

supreme court justice brett kavanaugh was confirmed and that entire process. i think that shows that a lot of democrats in particular are fired up about this. you know, i think the republican party realizes that the kavanaugh bump was a temporary thing, so they've moved on to other issues such as immigration to rally their base. but the dream of women and kavanau kavanaugh's confirmation is carrying over to votering and the coalition, which includes women. president trump diverted attention by taking his attacks on the media to a new level, so let's listen to this.
