annas house. >> i had the blinds open and noticed the police officers came and were knocking on the door. so, i came out and asked what was going on, and they said that they were following up on a well-check. >> her boyfriend had called police to say he was worried. he said that he had gone to her house the night before to pick her up for a date but she didn't answer the door and now her colleagues are saying she didn't show up for work. >> no signs of forced entry anywhere. >> which means you don't have an excuse to go inside. >> correct. we didn't have any reason to go kicking in somebody's door because there didn't seem to be anything out of the norm. >> the doors were locked so they asked the boyfriend to help them find her son. >> they show up with the son and

the key and the alarm code, you getting a read off the son? >> i didn't talk to the son. he sat in the car. >> that is where eager waited while the police went in to his mom's house. a member of the team was wearing a body camera. >> the first thing that we wanted to see was if there was a car there. two of my guys went in the garage and looked and said, hey, no car. >> and then they looked down and what they saw was beyond bad. ana moses, who's sonny presence had touched so many lives was lying dead on the garage floor. >> i was standing in in the laundry room and like, is she? is she deceased? >> yeah, she is. >> trauma? >> blood at the mouth. we checked for anybody else in the house and then left and locked the door to keep the scene pristeen for the

investigators to arrive. >> any initial observation was coming in through the foyier that it was a clean house. then i made a b-line for the, the laundry room, which was -- >> one sec, clean meaning it did not look like she interrupted a burglary and there was no ms.s, drawers open. >> and her purse still held $300 in it. nothing else missing except the car. >> that is when we noticed shell casings in the garage. just, multiple shell casings. >> the casings easily identified the murder weapon as a .22. and a careful look at ana's body told them more. >> she was laying on her back,

still heavy hadly clothed and wearing her jacket and a couple of skar-- of scarves, and i saw bullet hole in her scarf, and i observed the hole in her neck. >> they was presumed to be killed by someone waiting for her? >> or, spb run-- or somebody ru in when the garage door goes up and shoots her and takes the car. >> correct. >> so there was so many considerations. the medical examiner outlined the cause of deg -- the cause of death. >> he was able to document that she was shot six times. >> she found a seventh bullet in her clothing that did not penetrate. the deadly bullet wounds were close together. someone had shot her in the chest, and then in the back.

so, this is somebody who was probably not too far away from her. >> correct. yeah. >> and fired a bunch of times. >> the trajectory of the bullet suggested that ana got out of her car, perhaps saw her asaillant and turns away. >> she doesn't go with the three rounds. that's where you have the following barrage of bullets in her back. square in her back. >> if we start le you and the door is there, and you turn to run to the door. you will catch it left to right. >> there was something else and it was at the least, odd. ana may have been shot seven times, but police found 11 shell casings at the scene. and no sign of the other four bullets. >> did crime scene ever find the other slugs in the walls or the floor, anywhere? >> no, sir. >> that is kind of weird. >> yeah. >> right? >> yes, sir. >> so, now, detectives turn

a formal investigation. the officers said he passed the credibility test. 1:00 a.m. in a room downtown, already a long day for mankin, whose back is at the table. and they are facing bob. >> we are trying to figure out what happened, and maybe, one of the last times you saw her or spoke with her. we have a good reason to believe that anna was murdered. >> oh, my god. >> yep. >> no. >> god. how does something like that happen? how would that happen? >>. >> you know of anybody that would want to harm anna? >> no, i mean -- why would someone want to harm anna? >> the detectives needed to nail down bob's timeline for the evening anna was murdered.

tuesday, january 13th. >> i was not really doing anything yesterday. watching tv more than anything else. >> bob's alma mater ohio state had won the national championship monday night and he said he spent the next day reveling in postgame celebrations and commentary on tv. and he said, one of the three men he shared his house with, could vouch for him had. >> who was at home yesterday when ever you were at home? >> um, well, i was there, ken. >> bob said it was so cold he did not go outside until 7:00 p.m., when he drove to twin peaks, a nearby restaurant. police would confirm it on security video. spotting bob wearing his re ohio state jacket. what seemed to matter the most to bob was his son. who needed him now more than ever. >> i should go see igor, and really see him and talk to him and see how he is.

reported her missing. detectives invited him downtown and grilled him about his whereabouts the night of anna's death. >> and the boyfriend's aliby was i was there at the scene of the murder, i could not get in and i didn't know she was there. >> right, yes. >> he said that he was at grapevine elementary getting his daughter's grades much. >> he answered all the questions. but a couple of things left the cops wondering. during the interrogation, he asked if he should get a lawyer and later, he did. >> anna's son talks freely to you. doesn't hire an attorney. her ex-husband, bob, talks to you, doesn't hire an attorney. her boyfriend, however, does. that make you sit up and take notice? >> he does raise the question of if he should get an attorney, about the time we started to ask
