security kirstjen nielsen is set to ask congress in the coming days for legislative authority to deport unaccompanied migrant children more quickly. in addition according to a copy of the request, kirstjen nielsen wants to hold families seeking asylum in detention until their cases are decided and to allow immigrants to approve asylum in their home countries. kirstjen nielsen argues the proposals will address what she called the quote the root causes of the emergency that has toledo recent spike in border crossings. the proposal would need approval in the democratic controlled house which is expected to strongly oppose that request. >> the russian charged working as an undeclared agent for the kremlin in the u.s. will learn her fate. the sentencing for maria butina for april 26th. butina a russian gun rights activist pled guilty in december to a charge of conspiracy to act as a foreign agent without

registering. she was accused of working with an american operateives to make connects with nra officials. butina faces a maximum of five years in prison but could receive as little as zero to six months because of a plea deal. >> yale university's former women's soccer coach pleaded guilty yesterday for his role in the college admissions scandal. 51-year-old rudy meredith admitted to accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for pretending certain applicants were soccer recruits in order to boost their chances of guesting accepted at the university. meredith who started to cooperate with the authorities last app resign in november. third person to plead guilty in that scandal. >> i believe yale was the first university to rescind one of the students' admissions.

so today was supposed to be the day that the united kingdom left the european union. that obviously is not happening. at least today. prime minister theresa may's brexit deal has twice been rejected by lawmakers by historic margins and parliament proved on wednesday that it is far from being able to come to an agreement on any sort of divorce deal. joining us now from outside parliame parliament, is ali. thank you for joining us. with really no end in sight. what do we expect out of the palace of westminster today? >> reporter: good morning. welcome to another installment of brexit where decisions are driven by desperation. today was meant to be the day that the uk leaves the european union. instead members of parliament are going to be voting for a third time on the prime minister's deal. well, at least part of her deal. they are going to be voting on

president donald trump held a campaign rally last night in michigan a state he won by fewer than 11,000 votes back in 2016 and where he's currently deeply unpopular. a poll by mra of lansing, michigan find 49% of michigan voters say they will vote to replace the president in 20. 31% say they will vote to re-elect him. trump rallied those supporters making a profin enunciation that he described as a conspiracy. >> the crazy attempt by the democratic party and the fake news media right back there -- [ audience booing ] -- and the deep state to overturn the results of the 2016 election have failed. they tried to do everything possible to take us out but we're very tough to take out,

aren't we? we do not abuse the law enforcement and intelligence power to target our political opponents when they spy on me. whoever heard of this. they spied on me. they spied on our campaign. they did it all because they refuse to accept the results of one of the greatest presidential elections probably number one in our history. >> new report by "the washington post" finds president trump frequently crafted financial statements that exaggerated his assets and hid his debts while a businessman. according to the "post" when trump wanted to make a good impression he sometimes sent them official looking documents called statements of financial condition. the "post" reviewed several of these documents laying out

trump's properties debt and net worth. newspaper notes if someone was trying to get a true picture of trump's net worth the documents were deeply flawed. some simply omitted properties that carried big debts. some assets were overvalued. some key numbers were wrong. now investigators on capitol hill and in new york are looking into these documents in an apparent attempt to determine whether trump's familiar habit about bragging about his wealth ever crossed a line into fraud. statements were the center of at least two inquiries that continue to follow trump unaffected by the end of special counsel robert mueller's probe. on wednesday the house oversight committee requested ten years of his statements from one of trump's accounting firms. "washington post" reporter who helped break that story will be on "morning joe". >> we're learning new details about robert mueller's russia report as nancy pelosi addition in for a fight over releasing

that investigation. a justice department official tells nbc news that mueller' report to attorney general william barr is over 300 pages long. barr released a four page summary on the report on sunday. the doj said it would release a version of the mueller report with sensitive information contained in the original report will not be included. speaking yesterday, nancy pelosi hammered the attorney general over i had summary reiterating her calls for the full report. >> in terms of this, this is a responsibility we have to uphold the constitution. i have said and i'll say again, no thank you, mr. attorney general. we do not need your interpretation. show us the report. we can draw our own conclusions. we don't need you interpreting for us. it was condescending and

arrogant. the sooner they give us the information the sooner we can make a judgment. >> pelosi's comments follows mika brzezinski's commenting to use her full force of her position to have the report released. the speaker elaborated on those remarks as well. >> the will of the congress on the floor of the house, 420 members voted to release. if the administration wants to ignore overwhelming 100% vote of democrats and republicans alike on the floor of the house, i think it's a really important message that the american people need to receive. we're a reflex of the will of the people. more than 80% of the american people want to see the report released. that's reflected in a 420-0 vote in the congress. and so we will not be ignored. >> you'll get your hands on

this? >> it will happen. just a question of time. the sooner the better. >> despite some objections, acting white house chief of staff mick mulvaney reportedly help persuade president trump this week to get behind the effort to invalue date the affordable care act. mulvaney and his allies told trump joining the lawsuit to overturn obamacare will help him fulfill a campaign promise and could help lead to his re-election. but congressional republicans worry he has sent the president on a suicide mission and while republicans are united in opposing former president obama's signature health care law, the party remains divided about how to replace it. for instance house minority leader kevin mccarthy yesterday reaffirmed his support for maintaining the current requirement that heat insurers provide coverage for pre-existing conditions. >> make this promise you and this is a conversation i had with the president. the republicans will make sure pre-existing conditions are

protected. >> joining us again from washington, d.c., capitol hill reporter molly hooper. you got the president saying the republicans will be the party of health care. as i mentioned there's nothing to back that you want. we got 54 words from the press secretary yesterday outlining, i guess, what the plan might be as of yet still no plan. >> well, it was interesting when he was making those remarks that first day, i think it was tuesday when he sort of broke this to republicans. guess what? you got to come up with another health care plan. remember the ones that didn't fail. that's okay. forget about that. move on. he said he knew how complex the health care system was. and that may be the case. he may know how complex the health care system is but it seems like in talking to some lawmakers on the hill it seems he still doesn't understand how complex the reality of getting something passed through the

senate and house will be, especially given that democrats are in control of the house. and if this law goes away all together, then republicans are left number one without a plan that they've passed. keep in mind they couldn't pass anything. there were four iterations back in 2017 and they weren't able to pass any of them. so it's unclear how they will move forward. keep in mind there are several senators who have been working on producing a plan because, again, this is what republicans ran on and won during the tea party movement, back in 2010. even a majority in the senate will be very difficult. >> interesting because this could have been their moment. they knew the mueller report of coming out. they could have made a plan with whatever comes out with regard to the mueller report or barr letter let's change the march negative, go in on health care, have a plan to go out to the

public. people can concentrate on health care and not the mueller report. that's not what happened. instead the president announced the republicans will become the party of health care but not having a plan to back that up and losing that momentum and losing that moment that the trump administration could have taken ahold of. i want to quickly turn, molly, back to the mueller report here and the doj's reasoning behind having a four page -- i mean this is like, it's like writing a bad paper for, like a book report based on a really long book and i just got two pages out of it. i wouldn't get a good grade. we have a four page summary on 300 plus pages of the mueller report. what's the reasoning behind this? >> that's a good question. that's what democrats in the house want to know. that's why they are pushing for the mueller report to be released by april 2nd. again, those key committee chairmen of the six committees in house that are investigating

aspects of the trump administration have demanded the special counsel office, office of the special counsel release the full report by april 2nd. now granted that's not going to happen. likely that's not going to happen as we've seen in the reporting. what they are doing they are setting up, getting the ball rolling towards subpoena, you know, towards trying to subpoena the report, the release of the full report. maybe all but the classified portions of it because keep in mind part of this was a counter intelligence investigation. so intel committee will get that. again they are trying to get that timeline moving up. it takes a while to get these subpoenas through the house and then the court system. they are working on it. again, it's unclear. >> interesting because if you tick through some of the major investigations in our history, most of those reports were released publicly. sensitive information and intelligence redacted from those reports but nonetheless most released publicly. why is it this hasn't come out?

june 26th and 27th. it will air on nbc as well as msnbc and thrisnbc msnbc. timing will be announce later on. the democratic national committee said the lineups for each debate will be chosen at random not strictly for how candidates are ranked in polls. to qualify a candidate will need to either have 1% support in three qualifying polls or provide evidence of at least 65,000 unique donors with a minimum of 250 different donors in 20 states. >> let's talk about some of those polls you were just seeing. even though he hasn't entered the race new andy poling shows former vice president joe biden leading the democratic primary field in iowa. a new focus on rural america poll shows 25% of voters support biden. senator bernie sanders comes in second. david axelrod tweeted joe biden was at 37 in the same iowa poll

big thing." >> the "1 big thing" is beto showing trends and shifts that show over the last several years, not just 2018 with beto o'rourke, that the state is more willing to vote for democratic candidates up and down the ticket and 2020 could be the first time that the state votes for a democratic nominee for president since 1976. and all these folks that i talked to said that beto o'rourke certainly brought a lot of attention to the state and provided a lot of tv and air coverage, but he's not the sole reason the state has been shifting this way. they pointed to things like voter turnout in the 2018 midterms which increased by 18 percentage points in 2014, they talked about racial demographics shifting, more latino and younger people in the states and also looked at trends across the

its decision to scrap the funding of the special olympic,s as we've been talking about in the last hour in what you're calling "trump the tormenter." break it down for us. >> president trump decided to go against his own people and override his own cabinet member but saying he's going to decide unilaterally that he'll fund the special olympics. he's the tormenter because this is a clear pattern of behavior with president trump. he did this with jim mattis who resigned after president trump tweeted he was removing troops from syria. he's told folks not to listen to rex tillerson, secretary of state, about north korea and he would handle it himself. he loves to show himself making unilateral decisions and be the good guy where other folks might look like the bad guy.
