fishing vessel. that claim has been rejected. iranian state tv has released this video saying it is from the revolutionary guard showing the seizure of this tanker including when comandos repelled from a helicopter on to the vessel. reviewing audio demanding the tanker change course adding, if you obey, you will be safe. a british naval officer then responds warning the iranian forces of, quote, unlawfully attempting to board the tanker. a mediator says the incident may have been in response to of uk sei seizure and impoundment of a ship in the sea of gibraltar. iranian media also says they are

describing it as a, quote, reciprocal action. president trump discussed the situation at the white house. >> as you know, we have a very close alliance with the uk and we always have. we heard that. the united states has very few tankers going in because we are using our own energy now. we've made a lot of progress over the last two and a half years so we don't have many tankers going in about we have a lot of ships there that are warships. we'll talk to the uk. we have no written agreement but we have an agreement. they've been a great ally. they'll have a new prime minister soon which is a good thing. we have no written agreement but i think we have an agreement which is longstanding. i know it is not an american ship. it is a uk. we'll be speaking to them. they have a new prime minister soon. that's a good thing for the uk.

and o'rourke at 2. in california, biden and harris are tied 23 to 24% with warren at 19%, sanders 16% and buttigieg at 6%. in texas, biden holds a ten-point lead over o'rourke. 27% for biden, 17 for o'rourke. warren at 16%, harris and sanders at 12% each. buttigieg and castro with 4% each. president trump could win five million fewer votes in 2020 and still secure an electoral college victory. he has a narrow path. both states are growing more diverse due to booming asian and latino populations trending towards the democrats. despite the increase in voters

neither blue california nor blue texas would play a pivotal roll. the 2016 victory relied on other states white states with the highest share of white voters without college degrees. president trump could actually lose pennsylvania and michigan. if he picks up every state he won in 2016, he could secure the victory. as we get started here, let's talk about how this potential edge in the electoral college could impact his strategy. >> i think this will impact the democrats more than the president's campaign. if you talk to his advisors, they say they are running the same race for 2016.

they are making a play for all of those states. they are considering a few states out side of the ones that carried trump to his narrow victory in 2016. they are focusing on north carolina, florida, wisconsin, michigan and pennsylvania. all of the states he'll need to perform well in or carry to win reelection. if you look at democrats, the nominee is going to have to run a 50-state strategy. that is something we didn't see hillary clinton do and something that led to a lot of criticism after she lost to president trump. she never went to wisconsin, which was one of the biggest things democrats that were disappointed in the results last time continued to point out. >> let me get your thoughts on the new polls showing joe biden in the lead in several key battleground states. how could this impact strategy

as his lead begins to narrow a little bit? >> joe biden will be on the stage with both senators harris and booker and a number of other progressive, fiery democrats who are sort of languishing at 1% and will be looking for an opportunity to lan a moment that sticks. he's in a precarious position heading into this second round of debates. if you notice, after the last debate when he got into that tense exchange over bussing with senator harris, it allowed her to shoot up in the polls. i think there will be a lot of democrats on stage who want a similar moment. he can find himself in a position where he is emerging as a leader, he is a front-runner he is or come under attack from all different sides. that could bode not so great for joe biden in that second debate. >> i think his camp has suggestsed he'll be a little better prepared.

with two days to go before special counsel robert meuller testifies. working on some of the country's

most ard ant voices. others plan to go full throttle with the claims of a corrupt investigation. reportedly planning to ask whether mueller knew there was, quote, no coordination and no conspiracy by the president. reporting that the evidence found insafishent evidence of any wrongdoing. and instead give credence to the claim of an unlawful presidency. jerry nadler had this to say on fox news yesterday. >> the report presents substantial evidence that the president is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. we have to let mueller present those facts. the administration must be held accountable. no president is above the law. >> robert mueller is set to

testify on wednesday morning. >> joining us msnbc legal analyst. give me a sense of what we can expect to happen. >> if i were a betting person, i would say we are likely to hear the contents of a little thing called the mueller report. he himself said if you call me to testify, i will essentially be reading the report that has been public to everyone and apparently polls show anywhere from 2% to 5% to 10% of americans have even bothered to read. even democrats have been forth coming to say, we are really calling him so americans will see what is in the report. the report that is readily available and no one appears to have read. if i'm robert mueller, i would

be saying, couldn't you have an audio book. >> they have celebrities doing it. >> i would be saying, i created this report, now you want me to read it in my own voice. he's saying, hey, folks, everybody is really interested in obstruction where i concluded there was all this russian interference and we indicted a number of individuals. my report was a success if you -- depending on how you define success. if you just want to get the president, then maybe not but in this case, he's got to be wandering why am i here. >> you are giving us insight of what is going on in mueller's head what about the other side. what is the first line of questioning? >> for the most part will say, on page whatever, you say blank.

then tell us more about that. tell us about where did you get that information. you are going to hear a lot of, i can't answer that question because as you can plainly see in the report with the big blacked out area, it is redacted. it is harm to an ongoing area or invasion of privacy. we'll hear a lot of declining to answer and sticking to the letter of his own report. >> let me ask you this, many questions are out there still. why didn't he call on president trump to speak with him directly instead of written statements. will that come up? >> i think that is one of the biggest questions. he explained that in the mueller report. it is in the pages. he concludes he could have done it but it would have taken a long time and maybe he didn't need it. i'm paraphrasing because it is wrong for me to say what is in the report without reading from

9%. buttigieg at 5%. in tennessee, biden's lead is smaller. 33% to warren's 18%, sanders at 13, harris at 12 and buttigieg at 6, bennett at 2%. in mississippi, biden with 47% with sanders at 21%. senator harris plans to take her 2020 campaign to iowa after next week's second debates. on august 8, harris will be on a five-day bus tour of the state. marking the first of several planned campaign events throughout the country this summer through early fall. harris announced she will make stops across the state. the tour will include stops in three of iowa's congestional districts.

harris's retail operation in iowa has begun to intensify. she has more than 65 staffers in the state. >> we'll go to white house reporter. let's talk about camera harris. what is the strategy behind this late summer push? >> her campaign has always said her goal was to preserve staff and numbers so that she could make this late summer debut in a number of these prime rrry states. in iowa, this will be an opportunity to build on the momentum she gained on the first debate. some of the momentum she's likely to continue after this debate later this month, i expect she's going to join to rise in the polls there, more that the democratic voters.

theaters for under 90 days and this compares to "avatar" which ran for 244 days in first run. really limited number of days to already top that record. one thing to note here is that with the acquisition of fox earlier this year, disney how owns "avatar" and the "avengers" series and owns the four upcoming sequels that we're expecting on the "avatar" front. just to give you a little bit of color, put this in the context of the rest of the highest grossing films of all time, the top five list is rounded out by titanic, "star wars," the force awakens and "avengers infinity war." that's the top five all time grossing films. >> interesting to see "titanic" still up there. >> your heart can't go on, 1 00%. >> let's talk about something else close to our hearts. instagram announcing in april removing the number of likes on a person's post on the app.

that could go either way. it is expanding to more markets around the globe and talk about how this will impact the influencers and those who rely on this for a business perspective and also psychologically for young teens who are affected by the likes they see on instagram. >> well, to your second question, this is definitely part of their push to create a less pressurized environment, make instagram less of a competition. so with this new test that they're carrying out users will be able to see the number of likes on their own content but not the number of likes on other users' content. in terms of the impact on the business environment for influencers, this is potentially going to lead nor of a focus on -- to lead to more of a focus on content. so they can't rely on the likes to create partnerships with brands. again, this is just a test but this is in line with their broader strategy to try to shift users away from posts to stories
