>> she was essentially a victim of war and a refugee, herself. you know, she was living in a nazi-occupied holland. she was enduring this horrible famine where she was living off of bread that was made from tulips. and it was the entity that was the predecessor of unicef, back at the end of the war, of world war ii, that brought her out of this famine. she made a vow to herself, in that moment, that she would dedicate her life to children. she was given a second chance, and she saw some people that weren't and so i think she really felt like she -- she owed it to the world and to these people to pay that back. she ever said is that when you get older, you realize you have two hands, one for helping yourself. and one for helping others. and that's exactly how she lived her life. and she was an example and is an example because of it. >> i'm so grateful for all that you do. and for your family's legacy, and for your time today and for sharing that with us. means so much to me. so this is pretty surreal. so thank you.
