kicking off in a matter of hours, the rnc. first up, a bombshell article in the "washington post." it dropped overnight like a ton of led, the president's sister criticizing him. she's a retired federal judge and she spoke about her niece mary trump, unaware she was being recorded. hours of recordings in 2018 and 2019. geoff bennett has more on the story. scandalous. this is a whole other level. >> it is, kendis, thank you. trump's sister is heard on the

recordings she's simply aghast how trump has handled himself while in office. she says he has no principles, he's a phony, calls him cruel, and says, you can't trust him. and to get a sense of this, here's a clip of mary ann trump berry surreptitiously speak on these recorded trump tapes. >> [ bleep ] oh, my god. i'm talking too freely, but you know, the change of stories t lack of preparation, the lying. holy [ bleep ]. but he's appealing to the base. what they're doing with the kids at the border. i mean -- >> now, president trump in response to all this, via a white house press official says every day it's something else. who cares. i miss my brother. not even agrees. but the results are obvious. our country will soon be

stronger than ever before. and then a white house official said i can't fathom anything more despicable than surreptitiously recording an elderly relative without their knowledge. beyond that, i don't want to commend on family matters. mary trump claims the reason she recorded her aunt back in 2018 and 2019 is she was convinced family members were lying in their depositions about the estate, the estate left by mary trump's grandfather, and so she recorded her aunt, she said, for her own safety and for her own sort of legal protection. what she didn't expect was to get mary ann trump berry speaking so candidly about president trump. and what's damning and damaging about this -- i think the people's views of president trump are baked in at this point. when you take into account what michael cohen said about president trump, his former fixer who ultimately turned on

well, decision day in 72 days to the election and new insight today into what voters are thinking in at least one swing state that helped determine the 2016 election. we're talking about the commonwealth of pennsylvania, which has more registered
