everything is installed in as little as a day by a kohler-certified installer. and it's made by kohler- america's leading plumbing brand. we need this bath. yes. yes you do. a kohler walk-in-bath provides independence with peace of mind. it is 7:00 on the east coast. and one of the big things we have been waiting for tonight, has just happened. steve kornacki, with news about a lot of vote that's just come in from georgia in a key county. steve. >> rachel, this was the biggest one that was outstanding here. chatham county. this is savannah, georgia, we are talking about here. so, we were saying we expected
4:01 pm
that mail, that absentee vote to be coming in. it just came in and let me take you through what happened and what it means. let me put a darker color here so you can all see it on the screen. right now, we just got the vote reported out. joe biden picked up 11,000 -- 11,148 votes in chatham county. and donald trump picked up 5,578 votes. so, you can see, the net gain there, that biden takes out of this county, is about -- is 5,570. biden netted 5,570 votes from chatham county. it looks like chatham county, now, is basically done. as basically, all the votes there have now been counted. so, what does that advantage for biden do to the statewide lead? remember, it was 9,400, before. now, it's come down to 3,635. the other thing we got to in
4:02 pm
that time, a couple hundred votes from clayton county, overwhelmingly, went for biden. so you had a couple hundred there. this is now sitting at a trump lead of 3,635 votes in the entire state of georgia. that is one-tenth of 1%. and, of course, i tell you, chatham county is now all in. so, what's now left? we were all waiting on chatham a minute ago, let's just pull this up again. where is the remaining vote? here you go. and, you know, i mentioned it. you got henry county, right here. that's not where i'm supposed to go. there we go. we got clayton county. that's what i wanted to get in there. clayton county's one we just got a couple hundred votes from. you can see, this is an overwhelmingly democratic county there. biden just won the lion share of votes that came out in that area. but again, a county like this. let me call this up. this is small and i think -- let
4:03 pm
me give you the exact number of votes we are expecting. this is a republican county and trump may actually do well on these mail ballots here. we'll see. we are expecting 682 votes out of floyd county. 682 mail votes. so again, if trump is winning those, if he is able to win those, at a good clip, he could make some gains there. so this is a situation here, there are some clear opportunities left here for joe biden to make further gains in some big-population, heavily democratic places. there may, also, be room here for donald trump to sort of make gains of his own. for trump, it is to don't let biden get in front of you. and for biden, get enough out of the atlanta metro area right now and perhaps overperform in republican areas. that's a big question i think to try to get ahead of trump in that statewide count. but, boy, democrats have been
4:04 pm
eyeing georgia for decades. they are -- >> steve, can i just ask you to go back to those very-hard-to-see bubbles? >> i can actually zoom them in. >> can you? because i want to know what else is outstanding vote in the atlanta area, beyond -- you mentioned clayton county. there's a number -- a number of other significant-sized bubbles there. >> okay. let's take you through. perfect. clayton county's left and we just picked up 300 votes from there. so there should, still, be 7,000 votes, or so, to come from clayton county. >> okay. >> now, it's -- again, biden is winning clayton county with, like, 85% of the vote right now. so, keep that one in mind. dekalb county. i'm trying to find the number on here. dekalb county. okay. we should be expecting, yeah, somewhere in the neighborhood of
4:05 pm
6,000. gwinnett county. gwinnett county. put a pin on gwinnett county because, actually, there may be a processing issue here. there's 7,338 ballots. but these are ballots that they already ran through the system in gwinnett county. and it's this thing where they want to make sure that the both ballot checkers sign off on them, ahead of time. so they have to do sort of a bureaucratic, administrative step and run the ballots through again. but they may already be accounted for here. it's unlikely the vote would change at all. it's sort of an administrative question. and then, let's see here. this is a republican county. 4,713 votes to come from there. floyd is a republican county, as i say. you have got about -- so i say, look, the two republican counties here in this area add up to about 5,000 votes. 5,000 votes in places where there's clear opportunities for trump. and it's, you know, north of
4:06 pm
10,000 in counties where there are clear opportunities for biden. i've got to get an answer on gwinnett, exactly what's happening, because we've had sort of an asterisk on that one all day. and now, it's come to this where gwinnett is actually going to matter i think potentially. >> well, just between dekalb and clayton, it seems like that's 13,000 votes, alone, in heavily democratic counties. even if you set aside gwinnett, with whatever's going on there. i mean, that -- if dekalb and clayton, the former vice president continues to win votes, at the proportions that he has been, thus far. 13,000 votes coming in, in those counties, is going to get you -- >> he could net about 7,000 votes. net. >> i was going to -- yeah. >> oh, sorry. >> knno, i'm really glad that y did the math because nobody would believe it, if i said it. >> i'm using the phone calculator but he would net about 7,000. and then, if you -- let's just say trump did something very strong in these counties.
4:07 pm
he could net 2,000. you know, that would be a total, then, that'd be a 5,000-vote gain, overall, for biden. that -- that is math that, you know, we're ball-parking this here but that is math that would allow biden to vault ahead. >> did you do richmond and bibb, yet? >> bibb, i don't think we have any outstanding vote in. >> what about richmond? >> i don't think we have any outstanding there either. >> the bubbles. >> i guess, what i am trying to get at is the suburban counties that are around atlanta, right, these -- how much is total around just those? excluding what there was for trump. you are saying those were about 13,000 votes? >> no, that's just between dekalb and clayton. >> just between those two? >> yes, there's about 13,000 votes outstanding. >> and then, you have got, you know, here is an example. taylor county. this is another trump county.
4:08 pm
we think there's about 450 votes. you see, there's a very small dot right there. we think there's about 450 there. so, there are a couple. i got to -- i got to piece together where these are. we got a couple, you know, a couple like that, that pop up, too. and let me just, in fact, take a look here. in cobb. cobb county, outside atlanta. there might be 700 there. fulton is basically done but there might be a couple hundred in fulton as well. these, you know, tiny bubbles, relative to everything. so, you know, you could factor in a couple hundred, potentially, down here for trump. you could factor in, maybe, 5,000 here for trump. cobb, on the mail in is definitely going to be biden. fulton, certainly, is going to be biden. so, again, he could get a couple hundred there. in gwinnett, i need to get an answer on because i think that's very significant. >> gwinnett. again, there may be a processing issue there. >> the reason i ask -- the reason i ask about those counties because i texted with a
4:09 pm
georgia person that is around the campaign and i asked them what are the major, black counties y'all are still waiting for or that you guys had hope in? it's interesting to me that -- and was texting also about strategy. we are now seeing the results of strategy. the biden campaign really laid in hard on mail. and they laid in hard on mail starting, really even before the convention. because of covid. because they were taking covid seriously. they -- they -- and they particularly zeroed in on african-american voters, and said put that in the mail. and they did that, all the way through the summer when they thought, maybe, it was going to ease up a little bit and they could get people. you know, but people were still scared, right? they were really worried about covid. and so, you had , on the other side, donald trump made a deliberate decision in the campaign to trash mail-in voting. he started doing this, way early this year. around may, he starts saying it's corrupt. don't do it. republicans were begging him not to do it. republica
4:10 pm
republicans i know were saying this is -- this is insane that we are doing this because republicans typically do really well on mail-in. so, what we are seeing now is donald trump deliberately undermined really the best strategy. republican voters tend to be older, they tend to be consistent. if you tell them vote by mail, they generally do it. but if you tell them to wait until election day, we are now seeing the results of a deliberate strategy that democrats were fixated on mail-in. and they were fixated on it and to say they did that all the way through the campaign. so, think about that. people were geared to mail in. there were things like party at the mailbox that a group called black girls vote in maryland. philly. that's one of the places they did a huge party at the mailbox. so i think it's interesting donald trump is now screaming about these late ballots. he decided not to have mail-in ballots. he chose to do that. >> and we are seeing it, i mean, republicans and democrats both had big increases in turnout.
4:11 pm
that absolutely happened. but the way you are seeing it play out, particularly in pennsylvania, where there is this huge, partisan divide between people who voted by mail and people who voted day of. is they got everything they could out of election-day votes and the mail-in votes as they continue to come in. >> particularly, places like detroit where people are really worried about covid. particularly, think about wisconsin. think of how catastrophic covid has been in that state. people were voting by mail and now we are seeing the results. >> let's go back to brian. >> let's go to blayne alexander at her post in fulton county. and, blayne, this is critical because of the numbers. steve just ran through this -- this outstanding vote in the state of georgia where all eyes are, right now. what do you have? >> well, what this does, what these latest numbers, this almost certainly puts us into recount territory, brian. you know, under georgia law, if a candidate is within .5% of another candidate, they can request a recount.
4:12 pm
and earlier today, an official with the secretary of state's office said, essentially acknowledged, it's almost certain there will be a recount in this. now, he did add the caveat, in all likelihood, he didn't believe there would be a change. but we are almost certainly looking at a recount when we look at a margin this thin. now, i want to say something about timing. of course, that is the big question here. and officials are not, necessarily, giving any sort of commitment to timing. he said, quote, that he is prayerful that it will be done tonight. they are pushing for tonight. but, brian, he's not ruling out sometime tomorrow, possibly even later. saying that, if that's what's necessary to get it right, then that's what it will take. now, i want to say a couple words about those counties that you spoke of. we talked about clayton county. chatham county, that steve was talking about. yes, heavily democratic areas but also a large african-american population that's certainly important to point out. and cobb and gwinnett are becoming increasingly diverse. so that's another, big reason for those shifts that you are seeing in georgia. now, there's one more wildcard
4:13 pm
to talk about that state officials said there are about 8,900 or so military ballots, overseas ballots that could possibly come in and they are looking to see whether those could be counted. they could come as late as tomorrow, guys. >> all right. blayne alexander outside the counting location in fulton county. we're going to check in with nicolle wallace. but, first, to the other drama we're following. that is, the commonwealth of pennsylvania and correspondent chris jansing in harrisburg. chris. >> yeah. we were talking, a little earlier, brian, about why we heard the secretary of state who thought they would have some very-near-final results, tonight, kind of back off on that. and what we're hearing is they actually had hoped to drop philadelphia and the suburbs, sometime this evening. but they had a series of issues, including that legal challenge that caused some delays. they actually stopped the count, for a brief period of time. so, here's where we are. they have about 37,000 votes in the suburbs. those are places like bucks county, montgomery, chester.
4:14 pm
they say those will drop, sometime tonight. there's another, perhaps 92,000 from philadelphia county. those are still being counted. the secretary of state says they have the people. they have the equipment. they're just doing this carefully, methodically. and then, we knew about the other 35,000 in allegheny county. 29,000 of them, you'll remember, were votes that the ballots were misprinted. and so, those got changed out. tomorrow afternoon, at 5:00, those are going to be looked at. that's part of a court settlement and another 6,000 where some questions were raised in allegheny county. ultimately, what we heard from the president is driving a lot of this as well. right? he said he believes that this is going to be an election that's decided by judges. and what one democratic official told me is, look, you can delay the ultimate results. you can't change the ultimate results. we are approaching this in a way to make sure that any challenge to it can be withstood. brian. >> all right. thank you, my friend. chris jansing in harrisburg, pa.
4:15 pm
and now, let's bring in nicolle wallace. and, nicolle, the president's remarks was not done out of a stunt or theatrics. we just -- we just can't have it. it was not rooted in reality. and at this point, in where our country is, it's dangerous. however, having said that, you remained watching and listening. and you're going to be our briefer on just how deep it got, and what we missed. >> well, i'm so glad that we kind of show our work because i'm proud to work at a network that didn't contribute to what trump just did. and i have the only show on the network named after the white house, so i felt it part of my job to watch it for all of our viewers. and it is a speech that represents one of the more dangerous acts that donald trump has undertaken, as president. the country is a tinderbox. and a lot of people in this
4:16 pm
country went out and voted for donald trump, on tuesday. and we've heard militia groups and -- and others say that they will not accept any result, other than a trump victory. why? because trump has been telling them, for many, many months, that anything other than a victory is fraudulent. what donald trump did a few minutes ago is something that fox-news anchors, brett behr and martha mccallum are still fact checking. and i want to put a pin in that because i think it's going to be really important to cover fox news. what their viewers see and hear about trump's lies and disinformation is probably as important as anything happening right now in the media -- media ecosystem. but donald trump, basically, went out and accused neutral-polling companies, not associated with any news organizations, the media, democrats, and local-election officials, of all getting together. the same sort of tree house he
4:17 pm
thinks law enforcement officials got together to undermine his presidency. to fake a result. now, it is worth pointing out that, after he made this accusation and claimed there was widespread voter fraud. martha mccallum and brett behr came out and said there is no evidence, as of yet, of any voter fraud. but i think taking the president's words for what they are, which is the most incendiary and most dangerous and the most flagrantly false lies at a moment when this country is in a fraught, political state, is really serious stuff. and i am really proud to work at a network that didn't further the propaganda. but it is really important to understand what he is doing, and to what end he's doing it. and i think it's clear to the folks on the biden campaign that what he's doing is sad and scary and dangerous. but, i'll point out, that they were watching, too. >> let's bring rachel into this discussion because i know you've been listening, rachel. >> nicolle, the decisions that
4:18 pm
media organizations are making in the middle of this, you're absolutely right, are fraught and difficult. and i guess, i have to ask whether media organizations' fact checking the president and refusing to go along with the stuff. whether it's us not airing it, unedited, and not airing it unclipped and not letting him run off with it. or it's the nonpartisan, non-prime-time anchors on -- on fox who are handling this political coverage, shooting it straight with their viewers. whether that turns trump-supporting republicans off of mainstream media, entirely. and they just go down, you know, into, you know, total trump, you know, facebook rabbit hopeful land a hole land. or whether you think there might be some calming effect of media
4:19 pm
organizations trying to be more responsible with this stuff. >> look. i think that was the right question and the right debate, years ago. i think that, what trump has done is he's off-ramped his supporters into a system that doesn't exist and consume and live in the gravitational pull of fox news. it's way beyond that, now. and when you look at -- and again, i watch fox just to understand what the, you know, 42% of americans who support him, the, you know, 36% of americans who think his covid response is adequate. where they're getting their information. and it's alarming to me. but, beyond fox news are far more, sort of, is a genre that's far more in line with science-fiction. and the problem that i think we're all going to have is sort of tracking the information loop. and i think joe biden's campaign, whether they like it or not, they work for a man, whose first goal is to unite the
4:20 pm
country. that is what he says he wants to do. and so, i think the reason they're keeping an eye on trump and -- and on this coverage over on fox, tonight, is because if you want to unite the country, you have to understand what the other half thinks. and we're in this period, now, where donald trump just said, on national television from the white house, that he does not accept the results as he's seeing them come in. the results are coming in because of the kinds of things that republicans did. in pennsylvania, there's no one leading. it's just what's been counted and what was counted was day of election, election-day vote. and then, what's being counted is absentee and mail-in vote. that's the way republicans wanted it. no one's ahead or behind. it's about what has been counted and what has not been counted. the voting is over. but donald trump has pushed a years-long, a years-long stream of really dangerous propaganda. and, you know, i monitor the trump boys on twitter and they were raging against the machine,
4:21 pm
today. that no elected republicans were at war with them. it strikes me that joe biden ran a campaign against donald trump. donald trump has run a war against the truth for five years, and that is sort of the battlefield that i think we're playing on, in these days. >> real quick, to the very point, if i might. >> sure. >> earlier tonight, lou dobbs, to the point nicolle just made, why in the world wouldn't republicans surround that thing and if you will, at least apply, you know, what would you call it, some sort of observation and a real rigorous, demanding presence in those counting rooms and the polls, themselves? sort of threatening people need to go in there and i don't know what murky thing he was calling for. you had mike levin. because nicolle was talking about this other world, beyond fox. the radio guy. he is very popular and he says reminder to the republican state
4:22 pm
legislatures, you have the final say over choosing electors. not any board of elections, secretary of state, governor, or even court. basically, saying be faithless electors. hold on a second. the supreme court has already said states can enforce that electors have to vote like the voters tell them. if they wanted to change that, they should have passed the law, already. it's too late to say oh, do what you want. it doesn't work that way. but they are feeding people this fantasy that, somehow, people or republican state legislatures can change the outcome of this. but as nicolle said, the vote is the vote and it can't be changed. >> and the question is how extreme they're going to be in terms of trying to undercut the lawful -- the lawful completion of this election process. we now know exactly how extreme they're going to be, including from the white house podium. question's going to be if anybody listens. but there is more vote to talk about since we have been talk being about these other matters.
4:23 pm
we need to talk about what is going on in gwinnett county, georgia. the fact that there's votes there and a potential processing issue there. now that we are getting so much more of the georgia vote. also, in pennsylvania, we have just seen the president's lead in pennsylvania shrink by, like, 9,000 votes just in the last couple minutes. let's talk about both those things, steve, when's going on? >> yeah, rachel. there's just this, literally in the last 60 seconds. forsyth county, georgia. this is significant because we were talking about the outstanding vote in georgia and how there were some trump counties where there were significant chunks of outstanding vote. this is one of them. one of the biggest ones. and they just reported out 2,771 ballots. and the split is biden, 1,460. trump, 1,311. >> whoa.
4:24 pm
>> so, this is what we are saying. the dynamic is a little different in that biden's not getting 70 to 80% of the mail vote but he is doing better. better enough that in a county, overall, trump is winning by a better than 2-1 margin. i think there was some reason to say trump's going to be okay in the mail ballots. biden is winning the mail ballots in trump's best bet on this map to head off what is still to come for biden from places like clayton county. biden just gained, coming out of this county. so, take a look here. statewide. 3,486. that's donald trump's lead, right now. now, in terms of the other counties we're waiting on. we mention clayton county. let me erase this. clayton county is a big one here. we're expecting about 7,000 votes from clayton county. joe biden's winning, overall, in
4:25 pm
clayton county by 80 -- with 85% of the vote. there's no reason to think the mail ballots aren't going to look just like that, maybe even better, for joe biden. so, he can get a huge chunk of votes from there. we mentioned gwinnett county. so, there are, we believe, 4,000 uncounted votes from gwinnett county. >> okay. >> there's a huge, technical issue here with a big chunk of ballots that are being rerun through the machines, there. we don't expect -- they were counted, already. we don't expect it's going to change, you know, the result from those ballots. they're already in our system. we don't expect it's going to change that. if there are any changes, we'll let you know. but on top of that, there are, we believe, 4,000 uncounted ballots there. and so, that's another opportunity for joe biden to cut into the lead. and again, i think the most significant thing here, though, is we have been -- i've been balancing, in my head, all these obvious spots where biden can make up big chunks of vote, statewide.
4:26 pm
with the possibility that trump was going to be able to match him in a few places. we just saw trump in his best shot at doing that, actually lose ground by a few hundred votes to biden. so again, you know, biden's not getting a huge, huge number in the republican county on the mail we are seeing in pennsylvania but he just got more mail votes in an extremely republican county in georgia, than trump did. so, we'll keep an eye on that but i do think that might -- that changes my perception of this, a little bit, as this lead ticks down to 3,486. and then, the other update you just mentioned. pennsylvania where that lead now has ticked down further. that trump lead. 64 to 66. we got about 12,000 from philadelphia. remember, we had a couple updates from philadelphia in the last 45 minutes or so. now, we think there are somewhere in the order of 65 to 70,000 ballots remaining in
4:27 pm
philadelphia. there's trump's lead. 64 to 66. biden continues to get 90% plus of these mail-in votes as reported in philadelphia. 64,000-vote lead, statewide, for donald trump. there's the potential, here, for biden to come pretty close to erasing all of donald trump's statewide lead. just with the vote that's to come from philadelphia. and then, even then, as i say, philadelphia's the lion's share of the vote left to come in -- in pennsylvania. but it's not the only one. and biden's winning it, everywhere. so, again, you have the -- the -- this suggests a possibility here not just of biden barely catching trump and getting ahead of him by a few -- a few -- a few votes. this suggests the possibility of biden overtaking trump, and then
4:28 pm
putting some distance between himself and trump. if the trends that we've been talking about for the last couple of hours, the trends that have been established now in dozens of counties around pennsylvania, where biden, no matter the political, sort of, shade of the -- of the county, is dominating in the mail vote. if he's dominating everywhere, there are more than enough votes here for him to overtake trump and take a sizeable lead. >> steve kornacki, those are -- those are very clear trends that we're seeing both in georgia and -- and in pennsylvania. but we should reiterate to our viewers that, while those trends that steve is talking about are extrapolations from the data that we've seen come in, thus far. you don't know what it is, until you see it. and we really do not have advice from georgia or from pennsylvania, as to when that vote is going to come in. and so, the math is starting to point in joe biden's direction, in both of those states.
4:29 pm
clearly, the way that steve just explained it and i could run through it again but he said it clearer than i ever could. but again, we don't know when we're going to get the actual votes that we are expecting from both of those places. it looks like the biden's campaign enthusiasm and confidence in both of those states is backed up by what the forthcoming numbers of those states look like they're going to be. that leaves arizona and nevada, still, on the board, of course, and north carolina. in nevada, it's been some very interesting news, in terms of when we are expecting vote numbers, vote totals, out of there. we're going to be checking in with nevada with john ralston and other reporting when we come back. stay with us. en we come back stay with us (customer) hi? we have been watching numbers come in while we've been on the air, tonight, in
4:34 pm
pennsylvania and georgia. it's exciting and we are seeing the number of remapiining votes there dwindle. but we have also got eyes on arizona and nevada. in nevada, there is 89% of the expected vote in. nbc's projection is that it's too close to call. look at how narrow it is. 11,438 votes. a very, very slim lead for joe biden in nevada. but with votes, still, to come in. the question is which vote? and when? i want to bring in the world's number one expert on all things nevada politics. the editor of the nevada independent. the one and only john ralston. good to see you. thanks for being here. >> hi, rachel. >> so, since we spoke last night, what happened today? and why are we not expecting any numbers tonight? >> well, we did get some numbers this morning, but not enough to satisfy anybody. but there were some significant developments. you said that it's very close and it is. 11,400 votes. but when we woke up this
4:35 pm
morning, rachel, it was 7,500 votes. and essentially, the only significant amount of votes that were counted were in clark county, which, as everyone knows now, is las vegas, where the democrats have dominated in mail voting. 14,000 ballots released from clark county. and biden won by 2-1. essentially, added 4,500 votes to his lead. he actually added a little bit more than that with the rural counties which had a few hundred votes subtracted from that. rachel, there are about 190,000 ballots out there, now. now, there are going to be some more that come in because mail is still coming in. but 90% of those ballots are in clark county. and if the democrats have been winning, 2-1, in mail ballots, there is just not a way that trump is going to be able to catch up that way. in fact, when they release 51,000 more ballots, tomorrow morning, at least that's the plan, rachel. biden's going to have a

significantly larger lead. and there's just -- there's no way for trump to catch up. >> how many ballots are they expecting to release tomorrow? >> about 51,000 is what they've said. clark county. the secretary of state may release some stragglers from rural nevada. but it is 51,000 is going to be the big dump. and if it's 2-1, you can see how -- how big that's going to stretch biden's margin. >> that still leaves about 140,000 ballots outstanding. is it your expectation, john, that we'll just get those in little bites? a few -- a few -- a few tens of thousands of ballots every morning? >> yeah, i'm afraid so, rachel. there is tremendous pressure, and not just from rachel and john, for them to release more numbers. a lot of people obviously say why are you taking so long? they say, listen. we're going to be meticulous. we're going to be -- we're going to make sure we get this right, as opposed to getting it done
4:37 pm
fast. that's not going to satisfy very many people. they said they probably won't have it done until saturday or sunday. and i'm not even sure they'll have it done, then. but i think -- listen. i think we already know what's going to happen, rachel. by tomorrow, when they release 51,000 of those ballots, i -- i think that biden's lead is going to expand, quite a bit. i assure you that if -- that if that is not so, then something really strange went on some clark county after the first batch of mail arrived because the democrats have been winning the mail two to three weeks, consistently. there is no reason to believe it's going to change. clark county is a democrat county. >> john, there is one other thing i want to ask you about this right now which is that, while i understand and respect and, indeed, agree with the idea that you need to be meticulous and correct, rather than fast and rushing it. and potentially, you know, doing things in a way that is more haphazard.
4:38 pm
i absolutely get that and i know how much respect you have for, in particular, the clark county registrar and how they -- and his team and how they are handling this. the reason that i worry, though, is some of what we talked about last night. which was seeing that, forgive me, wing nut guy in the beer and barbecue shirt, able to walk right up to the registrar in the middle of a press conference and, you know, do his wing nut thing and get physically close there. you talked about how that made you worry about security. i, also, worry that a slow count just makes the clark county registrar's office, and wherever they're doing that counting, a bullseye in terms of people turning out and getting weird. potentially, bringing intimidation to bear on that as a site for their grievance. and the longer that it takes, the longer it seems like they're potentially going to be at risk for crazy behavior. >> well, you know, i agree with everything you said, rachel. in fact, you're prescient
4:39 pm
because there's going to be a big protest, apparently, outside the clark county election department that have been organized by some of the same people maybe wearing the barbecue and beer t shirt-shirt screaming crazy stuff. rachel, we started the day with a press conference by the former attorney general and rick grenell, a trump-campaign person, and american conservative union, calling a press conference right out in front of where joe gloria works to make all kinds of allegations of voter fraud, without any evidence. they refused to take any questions. you may have seen the video of jacob soboroff chasing them down trying to see if they had any evidence. this is what they're doing, and you're right. the longer that this drags out, the worse it's going to be. and i will say, real quickly, rachel, because i have to reiterate this. my respect for the election officials in this state and in this county remains undiminished. but, i have to say, the

communication has not been good. and the explanations given for why it's taken so long have not been good. i -- i -- i just don't think they were prepared. i think it's a very simple explanation. they have been inundated by these mail ballots. they are terrified now that they're the focus of all this national, even international, attention. they want to get it right. but it looks more like paralysis on the outside, which gives fuel to all kinds of rumors and mischief that -- that -- that you refer to. and so, i get where everyone's coming from. but i don't think -- i don't think they're going to speed up the count, rachel. >> john ralston, editor of the nevada independent. as always, absolutely invaluable, john. i am sure we will be back with you later on. thanks for being with us. all right. at this hour, again, we are expecting more count out of nevada, tomorrow morning. but we are watching new count come in in georgia and pennsylvania. we're going to take a quick break. when we come back, we're going

we have posted over 100,000 new cases, the last couple days in a row. the highest, by far, since the beginning of our experience with covid-19. and instead of focusing on bringing us together and rallying against our common enemy, this white house has been focused on sowing the seeds of distrust and hate, american against american. and joe biden's task is large, there is no question. but if there's anyone who's up to it, i know that it's -- that it's him and the group of people that he will surround himself with. it's so important that we heal the divisions in this nation so that we can rise to this challenge that threatens every single one of us and our economy as well. and i know that he can do it but we have got to get through these next couple of days. and we have got to give grace to our incredible clerks and all the volunteers that are helping counting votes. these are tough jobs. i am glad michigan's count is done and that joe biden had a convincing victory here. but we've got to extend patience

there -- there's certainly some of it that we'll never be able to mend. but i think, by and large, there are a lot of good people in this country who are on opposite sides of this presidential election, but are willing and able and eager to find some common ground. and to get vitreal out of or dialogue. we recognize as americans we're the strongest nation in the world when we stick together, when we seek to find the common ground and that scorched earth. joe biden speaks to that, joe biden lives that, joe biden's whole experience has been about that. i think he is the right man at this time and up to this challenge. we got to get through these next couple of days and it certainly is incumbent on all leaders on both sides of the aisle to call to our better angels to bring down the heat so we can get through this election and have confidence in the outcome. >> michigan governor gretchen whither, governor whitmer, it's a real ln nhonor to have you wis tonight. thanks for taking the time tonight. thanks. >> thank you.
