thing because the correct thing has no political upside to it. this is all politics, nothing to do with the congressman -- have a big debate on the floor about the infrastructure bill, talk about the john lewis voting rights act so we can all come to accommodation to get voters to the polls. none of that is going to take place, there's no money in that. you can't grift that. that requires honest discussion with political opponents who may have different approach or way of solving big questions. this is power, 2022, getting back control, and money. marjorie taylor greene runs her flap, says asinine, stupid stuff ons planet and raises thousands of dollars. okay, is that what you do? we'll do that.

it's banana republic stuff. how worried are you this will become the norm any state that republicans have control and can reproduce this mess? >> i think that's their plan. we talked a couple of weeks ago that as ridiculous as this is in arizona, and as easy as it is to lampoon them because they're clowns, it's a serious thing and part of overall plan. what we talked about is coming true. cast doubt on any place where joe biden won in a swing state, and once they do it in arizona they'll come up with something, i don't know what, but they'll come up with some lame thing and go see what happened in arizona, better check georgia and pennsylvania, go right down the line. when you combine that with suppressing the vote every place they can, gives them hope to win

has to be preserved in case of a lawsuit. you only do that if you're seriously contemplating a lawsuit. is it possible that the republican board of supervisors could sue the senate here in federal court and try to put a stop to this thing? i think it is possible. we have to see what's going on here. i hope so, if they won't do it, justice department ought to step in. >> a lot of people agree on that. one of the other concerns is seeing people around the country engaged in these challenges to a long completed election. trying to overturn it or just shore up those in the republican base who believe that the election wasn't real. then turning around and running to be the secretary of state, to replace people who might have stood up to this in 2020, and replace them with themselves. talking in the break about government by the absolute worst people, we're in position can start to see corrupt people who

believe the big lie in charge of elections in this country. how worried are you about something like that? >> i am going to be optimist on that. they're definitely trying. of course they will try it. we have a really good secretary of state here in arizona, a great secretary of state in michigan, we saw the republican secretary of state in georgia who, not my favorite, kind of a trumper, but even he stood up and did the right thing. look, in arizona the person who is now running for secretary of state was at the capitol on january 6th. he was a donald trump elector and to show he had come full circle, how bogus this alleged audit is, he was in there counting votes in the first week, a guy whose name was on the ballot, who was insurrectionist, was there until the arizona republic spotted him

complicated by motor vehicle collision. people supposed to be filing and putting together autopsies getting involved, you have media who just accept the police statement and report out what happened without questioning it too many times. think that's changing now. but in this george floyd bill, one of the arguments is over whether there should be qualified immunity. some conservatives say don't put it in. should police have to take out insurance to have liability protection? shouldn't there be some personal liability? feels like police are very confident they can murder anyone they want and get away with it. >> in the short-term, only thing that will change or modify police behavior is when you expose them to additional, personal, individual liability. when you scrape away that curtain of protection they operate under, and believe you

me, it plays into the minds of police officers, definitely is impactful and meaningful that police officers enjoy some level of immunity. if you want to modify behavior, you have to begin to take away those artificially created protections from police. you would end up with a more professional police officer if that's what you're going for. i think most importantly, though, joy, we got to move away from this policing model, get to a public safety model and incorporate other disciplines, professions and specialists into the preservation and safety and sanctity of the communities. >> if that sounded familiar to the viewers, it's what they tried with george floyd, trying to use drugs, all of that. >> police affected by that. heard excited delirium. they're guilty of what they
