the concerns from the residents, summer who are worried about their own safety. >> that's exactly right. there are a lot of growing concerns. now, not just among the loved ones and people affected by the collapse, but also by the people who live nearby. spoice with a gentleman who lives in the north tower, about a block away from where i am. he says he's already seen many of his neighbors just pick up and leave. officials say that nobody has taken up on their offer to get relocation assistance yet, but they expect people may in the coming hours and day, but we are hearing from families that people don't want to be at the site. the mood here is one of fear and anxiety, as we stretch into day four. many people are starting to lose hope or worried there will not be a miracle for their loved one.

we learned this morning that the death toll rose to nine, that additional human remains were found and 156 people are still entirely unaccounted for. i want you to listen to what the mayor of surfside said earlier today. >> it was decided we would not evacuate the building, but give residents the choice, offer an alternative, because of their justified fears of living, at least for right now, in a billing they don't understand or don't know is safe or not. quite frankly, i think we all understand that, given what's happened and given this building fell down out of nowhere, which was completely inexplicable, i think those fears are justified. >> reporter: all of those fears are also fueled by the discovery of a 2018 report that found major errors, major structural damage to the building. this is years ago.

that has not only the people who were connected to the site that collapsed angry and fearful that, you know, this was directly potentially responsible for what happened a few days ago, but also worried people who live nearby, who live in buildings constructed by the same architects, by the same builders. you know, as these fears spread, we expect people who don't even live directly in this one-block raddies fear what their buildings may have suffered being close to the water so there is a lot of conversation about additional reforms they needed in this city, and people want there to be answers as soon as possible, what happened to this building, but also about the safety of the buildings they live in now. >> so many questions coming at us, and we'll be digging into the inspection report later on, because there is a lot there. by the way, antonia, just quickly, when are we expected to

hostage for the sake of the democrats-only bill. there's still plenty that could go wrong with lawmakers back in their home districts. it has to be put into a piece of legislation. we heard from senator bill cassidy from louisiana, who says he thinking mitch mcconnell will support this, and we heard from mitt romney and others. >> do you buy his explanation? >> i do take the president at his word. i aim totally confident the president will sign it if it comes to his desk. the real challenge is whether the democrats can get their act together and get it on their desk. the problem is not with republicans. republicans will support true infrastructure that doesn't raise taxes. >> reporter: the president will be returning from camp david, where he's been spending the weekend. the next task for his administration, to sell this to the public and to lawmakers who remain skeptical. we just got word that pete

this lawsuit is the first of its kind. do you think at all this will move 9 needle when it comes to republican efforts to change voting access? >> well, the department of justice joining in in georgia is important, because it is the biden administration -- or merrick garland's first bite at the apple on voter suppression. advancement projects, they have already filed in georgia. so we are happy to be joined by the department of justice. i mean, this is a fight that is on every level. so we have the big lie about a stolen election, that then was used as an excuse to pass voter suppression laws, to make it harder for black and brown voters, young voters to participate. we're fighting and suing over those, and then we have congress

we conducted a survey a few months ago, mostly cheever, and they said 74% approved of a registry. interestingly enough, we asked if the registry was available, would you use it for your screening process? 95% of the chiefs said yes. we're very optimistic, but most importantly, the public has sent us information to help us pop ulate this database with people who have been fired. >> you use this term "blue grace." if you think this list is public, if the hiring officers have access, do you think they will still allow for the blue grace in their hiring practices? >> i want to be as optimistic as my co-guest here, but, you know,
