paychecks hostage, threatening a government default that could stop military pay, threatening the security of 1 hadn't 4 million active duty troops, the people who fly skies, course the seas, and run toward danger to defend and protect the united states. thank you don for joining us. won a criminal complaint is filed in a case like this, it's

not unusual for there to be an affidavit that makes up the bulk of the complaint. an fbi agent or some other law enforcement officer basically writes a first person narrative. that's an explanation of why the charges are being brought. the law enforcement official or the fbi agent explains his or her background and expertise in law enforcement. the person describes the investigation that has led to the charges being filed against the defendant. if the defendant got interviewed before or after the arrest. the fbi agent of the officer will explain what the defendant said in that interview. it's a narrative. it explains basically the nature of the evidence, what's the investigation turned up, and why the charges are warranted from the point of view of the prosecution. so that's often how these things are structured. we and along those lines, here's what we got from an fbi agents affidavit filed in support of criminal charges against a nnsylvania woman

named dawn bancroft. the fbi agent says thi quote >> on or about january 12th, the fbi received a tip with a video reported to be filmed by defendant don bancroft. the video was a so-called suffused video which depicted bancroft and another woman in the process of attempting to exit the u.s. building in d.c., the video also captured a large mob of individuals who have become bobble necked at a capital exit point. during the vide bancroft stated, we broke into the capital. we got inside. we did our part. we we looking for nancy to shooter in the forgotten brain. but we didn't find her. you're a fee, meaning the person who is filli out this affidavit for the purse pissf this criminal come plain, believes that the 90 bancroft was referring to was the speaker of the house.

nancy pelosi. bancroft stated was wearing a make again. make america great agn ski cap. a screenshot of this video is depicted below. and actually included a colors screenshot ithe criminal complaint. there she is. make america great again ski cap. quote > bancroft was interview on or about january 20th, eit days after the tip came in. interviewed by your advent, bancroft said she had entered the u.s. capitol building on january 26. in particular bancft explained that she followed other protesters up the exrior stairs of the capital building. she saw window to the capital building which had been broken she, witnessed people entering the capital building. ncroft stated that she followed and enteredthe capital building through this broken window at approximatel 3 pm. bancroft stated that she was ere she was entering a restricted grounds when she entered through the capital building window. bancroft that she had taken

videos but had deleted. it bancroft further stated at she had sent the video to her children, and subsequently instructed her children to delete. it bancroft showed the fbi agents additional photographs and videos of her cell phone that she filmed on january 6th, 2021. on or about that same, day january 20th, european reviewed cctv footage that captured bancroft attempting to enter the capital building on january six, 2021. >> so this is the basis for the charges. this is an fbagent saying i have seen the cctv the footage of this woman entering the capital. she admitted to me in an interview on january 20th that she had entered the capital, e in fact had climbed through a broken window. and knew that she shouldn't be doing that. she then filmed a video inside the capitol, in which she said. we >> broke into the capital we got inside, we did our part, we were looking for nancy to shooter in the african brain but we didn't find her.

she then sent that video to her children we >> hate kids look mommy's doing. >> but then told her kids to delete it. presumably that mom wouldn't do it when the fbi came looking. >> we were looking to nancy to shoot her in the front can bring. >> she sent that to her kids. today in court in washington d.c. something really interesting happened. and something quite provocative. there's been a lot of these january six cases where people have done and said shocking things, and been caught in charge for it. but this was one of those cases where the judge basically balked. federal judge today, accepted a guilty plea from this defended from the tutor in the african brain defendant. and you are not going to believe me when i say this but the guilty plea that the judge was accepting from her today, was her guilty plea to a single misdemeanor charge.

which is something that prosecutors are fine with even if the judge doesn't seem to necessarily agree. the defendant is charged with basically being disruptive and the capital building. as it's laid out, in the criminal complaint against her, what she's charged with is the misdemeanor charge that prohibits parading, or picketing inside the capital building. parading? picketing? that's what we're calling the snow? today in accepting her guilty plea tohat system go pulley, parading misdemeanor. federal's hearing dawn bancft this case, had a hard time accepting that this is really how the case is going. and this is really how it's going to. and here's reporting from w. usa reporter george fischer who was in court toy for the case. a feral george pressed to the justice department, a capitol ot defender who said she wanted to shoot speaker nancy pelo, was only facing misdemeanor charges.

saying during her plea hearing that he was appalled by the comments. >> then fisher quote the judge >> it is ve troubling to hear someone say the reason the entered the capitol on january x was essentially to murder a speakeof the house. u.s. district judge emmet g. sullivan told donbancroft that it is very troubling. >> here's ryan ralls republican polls for huffington post. >> sullivan called bancroft's comments about pelosi horrible he asked a federal prosecutor on the case why didn't rise to the level of a threat. he said bancroft was very force janet at there was not a more serious charge. judge sullin said that the comments will certainly come up at bancroft sentencing in january, and she should be prepared to explain her language at that point because it should ha an impact on her sentencing. i dot want to anyway minimize the very troubling nature of a pretty outrageous statement. >> judge sullivan then reflected on one of the large questions of january six how so many law abiding citizens like

dawn bancroft had turned against the government. d he quotes the judge, so many people up until januy six were outstanding members of the community never be in trouble. but on january six they mored into, they morphed into terrorists, the judge said. >> i guess that these are provocative remarks. but this sort of thing keeps happening over and over again in cases involving the january six defendants. the justice department is bringing hundreds of cases in people who participated in the attack one leveller neither. but over and over again, judges keep asking prosecutors, once these cases get into court, you sure this is all you want to charge this person with? you know what this person participated in right? you know this was an attempt to overthrow the government by force? and you're charging the participant in that effort with having a parade in the wrong place? that was today inederal court

in washington, d.c.. here's another piece. the republican accountability project. you might remember that made. th was a group that was formed that had lots of attention when they came together last year. these are republicans. many of them, high profile former trump administration officials. who have changed their mind. who reject trumpism and their party. who are horrified by what happened while donald trump was in office as president. republican accountability project is sort of seizing its role now, as trying to expose the ugliness of trumpism in the republican party. and trying to break the former presidents hold on the current party. a few days ago, they posted a tape online which showed pro trump republican named paul gosar, addressing on september 11th what appears to be a small crowd of supporters at a restaurant in scott still, arizona.

the tape is really quite something. for one thing, iis just hard to believe looking at this that this is a sitting member of congress. but it is. >> we can do that and follow through on this audit, if it's what i've been told, and i have people come to me early hours of the day after, from the security exchange department, to the cia department. and between 450 and 700,000 in the state of arizona. and i'll give you some validation. the dominion which happens to be in the shields of america and the county, why do i bring that up? because they're known for switch and dele. kind of suspicio? if this audit comes out the way it is, i have to tell you, we have to charge people. >> yes absolutely. >> the supervisors have to be charged, --

what i'm telling you the governor knew exactly what i just told. you and he still certifying. it cod've been avoided. now there's also some [inaudible] news. in georgia, they're doing an audit called faulting county, which is the atlantic area. jody hice is the one running for the secretary of state, and has told me that there's an arid of over 60% in many of the precincts. >> 60% errors in the election? he's got sources from the security exchange fraud department. anybody got any ideas? the security exchange front department, he's got those sources. and also the cia front department. now when somebody email do congressman, until do they were the cia front department. they also ask for your bank account number? they also ask for you to wear them a little something? is it possible the email came

from a nigerian prince? he's got his sources. the security exchange front department, and the cia front department, and the guy his friend who is running in georgia knows it's 60% error in the election. this is this month. this september 2021, his name is paul gosar he is a serving member of congress. i should tell, you and i don't mean this with any, stark but there have been some reporting that it is possible that he is not well. that there may be something healthwise going on with congressman paul gosar. we have no reason to believe that's true. and i shouldet you know that the congressman has said in response to that reporting that he is fine health wise. but this was not -- paul gosar was not saying i'm sorry about that i was having a meltdown. this is what congressman are selling right now. and all the press are saying this is normal press happening in washington. what's going on in the

republican party? it deserves looking at. it deserves attention. because what they're saying particularly at home to their constituents, particularly as they get start getting ready to run for reelection, is all this stuff. and it is occurring animating force in one of the two major parties in our country. pretending that it's not now and it's not in the past. i'm going to show you another piece of this now. i mentioned a few days ago that the colorado lawsuit was about to become a font of information, about where all this stuff came from. about how these lies and conspiracy theories about the election got invented. how they came up with this stuff. how they started propagating it. you heard this congressman in arizona, for example, selling the stuff about dominion voting machines. dominion voting machines. that's been one of their big villains. that's been an animating conspiracy theory around why the arizona election results needed to be auted, and they

had to bring in the cyber ninjas because e results could not be believed. that's been there lying from the beginning. that's what they've been selling from the beginning. and an executive from dominion voting systems, filed a lawsuit. againstformer president trump and trump's lawyers and his allies. who have been proming these conspiracy theories and dominion voting machines. and as we have reported, the discover process in that lawsuit has led to a lot of really important information. in part because it has led to a lot of the people involved in concocting those lies and conspiracy theories in the first place, having to sit for depositions under oath. having to explain under oath why they said this stuff, and where it came from. and that gives us a priceless window into how this stuff came into being. how this nonsense came into being promoted by the former president's lawyers, and the former president himself. and is now in overdrive. and more than anything else in the country is driving the politics in the republican

party today. as far as i know, and i may be wrong here, i will correct myself if i am, as far as i know this has not been reported on tv. we know that in colorado where the story has been reported, they picked up some of this and reported on some of this deposition. but we think we are the first national outlet of the first national tv to report on this, i'll correct myself if i'm wrong. what we have is deposition from this lawsuit in which former president trump's lawyer rudolph giuliani, is under oath. and the deposition that leads out into where all these conspiracy theories and complicated lies came from. all the things that he sold to the public, and he tried to sell to the courts and the press was wrong with the election. all the initial seeds of this whole conspiracy theory that is the animated -- rudy giuliani was pressed under oath to express where that stuff came from. where he learned it from.

here is trump lawyer rudolph giuliani. i should mention that he is right now waiting word whether this suspicion of his law license will be permanent or whether he will get it back. but here is under questioning and under old explaining the due diligence e give as an officer of the court, when he decided that he needed to go public with these claims that the election was stolen. he needs to go public that the dominion voting machines and the executive of the domini's where the villains who somehow stole the election fm donald trump. and remember, this conspiracy theory was not just for than, it is absolutely still alive today, it is absolutely still entranced on the right that 78% of republican voters say they believe it, and don't believe that joe biden was letimately elected president. and donald trump should still be in the oval office. because of all the things they've heard of things going wrong in this rigged election. where did that kentucky shun come from? now we know. because here is the president's

lawyer explaining how hard he worked to make sure that hi story from the rigged election s a re thing. beforee started spreading it. here's what he said. >> as i'm hearing your testimony in rms ofyes on information about your demote ensure, we've got some media reports that you genuinely scribedand then you looked at some facebook postings that you described? >> i don't remember if of was facebook, those social media polls get all one to me. facebook instagm, twitter -- . >> social media postings >> i think itas facook. >> anything else that you laid es? on >> right now i can't recall anything else that i lead eyes on. >> so the president's lawyer maybe he looked at facebook post to come up with the dominion didn't conspiracy theory. but he can't really remember and all social media looks the same to him. but facebook sure is probably facebook. he doesn't remember looking at

anything else. then the deposition turned to mr. giuliani's claim that there was a source. there was a witness. who claim to know that dominion voting systems had rigged the election for joe biden. thers a witness. oh mr. giuliani did you talk to the supposed tness? >>

>> lawyer than says to him >> it wasn't trial by pressure conference, it was investigation by press conference. i ad some stuff i think it was maybe on facebook. i laid it up to the publ as

what we knew to be the facts. and no, i had no idea if it wa true or not, i didn't even try to check, why would i tried to check you wouldn't have a story then. he literally says, why wouldn't i believe? him i would've had to been a terrible lawyer. i would've had to be a terrible lawyer? gee let's go find out if it's untrue. i didn't have the time to do that. there was nothing to me that said i should do that. this is a position falling coat in colorado in a case ought by an executive by one of the companies who was featured in the republican parties conspiracies, ongoing conspiracies about thelast presidential election. the president's lawyers admitting that when he seated that copiracy theory with the public in the first place, which is now grown into the animating principle of the republicanarty, at the time he ceded that conspiracy theory in public, he doesn't remember if he even read a single thing about it except maybe he saw

facebook post that he can't remember. he never intervwed anybody. and supposedly supplied the evidence back into theory. he made no effort, took no steps whatsoever to determine if any of it was true. because that would've run the story, why would he do that? again this deposition is from rudolph giuliani, in a depotion case brought by the former executive firm voting syst. but that story that he admits was just concocted is what ultimately led to the attack on the u.s. capital building on january six. a federal judge today saying in the bewildment that >> where repuicans did spend nths undoing and re-trying their election results. and even today the republican

congressman paul gosar,saying because of their audit because of the review and dominion system and the blob of law there should be a redo of the election between biden and trump. because dominion, etc. that story that concocted story is behind all of these editorials you might have seen in the newspaper, in texas today. if you live in tes, all these editorials and different texas papers today. as even the states homegrown press which have seen everything, today they cannot quite believe that texas also is going to audit its election results. because trump insists the most. because dominion. because of the story, that on their oath they will admit advantage out of [inaudible] . 's all made . this was a scene today in chicago. rmer prident barack obama when he picked the spot on which this would happen toy he, was actually still

president. it was july of 2016, when president barack obama chose this site back in chicago to be the official home for his post presidential brary. today in chicago was the official groundbreaking, officially kicking off construction on the project, you can see the former president and the former first lady there. a new presidential library is always a cool thing. it's a research center, a museum, a monument for history for the public to engage with. this one though is also a reminder that our immediate past president, after president obama, who ibeen out of office for a better part of the year not, he hasn't done anything to start planning his own presidential library. he hasn't even announced where he would like it to be. not a general terms, not in specific turn, and in fact no terms at all. and these things to take a long time to get off the ground. barack obama selected the location for his presidential location more than five years ago. they just are to putting shovels into the dirt today. why is it that there's no trump presidential library being

ted as we speak? for donald trump to start planning his post presidential library, that would require him to acknowledge that he is post his presidency. and apparently we are not there yet. the animating life force in the republican party, right now, means that their last president inks he is still the rightful president. and three quarters of the republican party voters agree with them. president biden, tonight, canceled his old plan trip to chicago tomorrow. so he can stay in washington and keep working on negotiations to try and keep the government from shutting down. to try and invoke the debt ceiling crisis, to pass this infrastructure bill and his budget. and all the press looking at this fight in washington is thinking about two parties to have two different ideas about what's the governing principle of the countries all to be. how much money we ought to be spending or raising in terms of revenue. why didn't the operator from the beltway press. off look around.

what's going on in the republican party has nothing to do with governing the country. what's going on in the republican party more than ever, has to do with overthrowing elections. overthrowing small d democracy, and getting stuff done by force. ignoring that when you're looking at the rational negotiation positions of the two parties in washington is to put your head in the sand. with that being said, we do see president biden and the democrats trying to get stuff done. we see them under the gun incredibly in terms of timing trying to get it done by the end of the week. got live updates on that and more ahead.

almost unbelievable. the build back better legislation has 80% support statewide. just ask self identified conservatives in deep wart west virginia, how many of self-identified conservatives hold on the build supported. while that number is 77%. i don't know if senator joe manchin knows that about the views in this constituents back home, but to the extent that he wants credited for being the democratic senator who's holding the built up, his went through back home might not be happy about that. and it's not just senator joe manchin of course, and it's not just west virginia and which the home state rumbling might just be disconcerting. to democratic senators who are holding this thing up. if senator kirsten sinema's home state of the states democratic party is so fed up with her not being on board, with the bill that they passed a resolution this weekend. part of which reads, if cinema cinema votes against the reconciliation bill supported by president biden and the vast majority of democrats in both

the house in the senate, and if she continues to delay disrupts or guts the reconciliation package of its necessary funding, and the arizona democratic party state committee will go officially on record and will give senate cinema a vote of no confidence. >> if you have been following the news about this dispute at all, we are probably well versed in the public will dynamic. democrats almost unanimously want to pass a huge potentially groundbreaking piece of legislation on climate and the social safety net and infrastructure. in the senate these two conservative democratic senators, joe manchin and current stint cinema are holding this thing up. but they have a problem and that is when you look at what's in the package it's all very popular stuff. including in their home state. but take for instance what's the bill would do on electric vehicles. reporter david roberts did a really good job of translating this from sort of entered g to

english. talking about how if the bill gets passed, here's what you get in terms of buying an electric vehicle. if you buy an electric vehicle you get a tax credit, you get a rebate essentially a $4,000. but it goes up from there. if you were to buy that car before the year 2027, there's an additional extra three and a half thousand dollars on top of that. if it was an electric car made in the united states by a union auto shop, well then your rebate would go another four and a half thousand dollars on top of what you're already getting. and it keeps going like that until the tax credit available under this bill reach a grand total of $12,500 back. you can get $12,500 off the purchase price. if you choose to buy an american made electric car instead of a traditional gas engine vehicle. we that sounds less like a dry piece of legislation, and more like a car at right? who doesn't want to see if 12

and a half thousand dollars on their car, and also hope the environment will. doing it's very easy to get swept up in the will they, want the political narrative around this bill. and this week that is all very dramatic. will they won't be? but it's also worth talking about what's in the bill. not just because it's popular, and that should and will affect whether or not it gets past. but also because if this thing is going to get past, it's important that it be right. that it be the best bang for the buck that we can get. and this could be the biggest piece of climate legislation that we passed as a country ever. as such, is it a collection of the right ideas, would it make a dent? is it moving us in the right direction. joining us now is bill mckibben, he's a climate expert and in the environmental group, mr. mick evince it's nice to see you, thank you for being here. >> what a pleasure. rachel >> i imagine that you are rooting for the reconciliation bill, the build

back better bill to pass because it seems like america's biggest stab yet at doing something on climate. but what are you actually think substantively about the climate? does it appeal to you? >> absolutely, not only is it our best stab, it would be really the very first piece of climate legislation that they've ever passed. and the ones who have looked through it with great detail, and they're very good at this, have said that the provisions in there [inaudible] the tax credit, the home electric vacation things, there enough to get us to the percent reduction of emissions in 2020. that joe biden has promised. that the scientists have told this is the absolute minimal we can possibly hope for. and that would give john kerry importantly, something to negotiate with when he goes off to this international climate conference in glasgow.

i know that in addition to being an expert in climate, you're also pretty distinguished expert in knowing how things get done in this, and how the politics and power works around these issues. are the right people making the right arguments to help get this thing passed? if it would be as consequential as you are describing, in terms of climate, it's obviously a very high stakes decision this week for everybody. for whom that's the number one issue. >> well first of, all the presses in of itself it's obviously crazy. senator kyrsten sinema and joe manchin, are behaving in the most cruel fashion. trying to play off one constant dnc against another. let's not hot this it's going to be implied but. the sunrise movement and the dreamers and the nurses that are working on health care, they're moving a rally together to get this three and a half trillion dollar bill through. and to negotiate with people who won't even tell you what

they're ending the negotiating with, and that senator kyrsten sinema and joe manchin. with that being said there's remarkable work being done to get this bill in place. and it's been very powerful to watch the progressives in the house stand up and insist that it's got to pass. you know the bipartisan infrastructure bill by itself doesn't really do much, it's mostly a series of [inaudible] to the industry. the only reason to doing it is so that you can have the chance of past seeing this actual really important climate bill. we don't know if it's gonna have been. and we know that if it doesn't have been, this is just as it did in passing 2009 the last time congress did something like this up. there's something that we know for climate -- that scientifically relevant to dealing with the greatest crisis we've ever faced. already miles behind.

among democrats in arizona who work so hard to get hurt that seat. feeling like now they're having to fight against her or even democratic priority, she said she agrees with. but will tell you though, to the extent that senator kyrsten sinema has been somewhat inscrutable in this, the one thing that she's been frequently saying, is that she really cares about and once you get done about, is climate. that's one of her biggest priority, one of the main reasons that she wants to be in the united states senate. which makes it all the more difficult to imagine why she is standing in the way. she and senator joe manchin, are standing in the way of putting the only significant climate legislation we have in the hopper. and the biggest shot we've had in this generation. anyway on her own terms. lots more stories to come tonight, stay with us.

something that probably deserves more attention than it's getting. as recently as this summer, as recently as july, the percentage of white adult americans who reported getting at least one shot of the covid vaccine was 70%. that's according to a kaiser family foundation poll. compare that number in july to black adults, the number was just 65%, and for hispanic adult the number was 61%. so again this is huddle to have said they got in their first shot as of july. whites 70% blacks 65%, miss panics 61%. regional divides that was in july. but te a look at the new poll just released today by kaiser, shing that that gap has closed. and there's a different gap now that explains what's going on in the country with their vaccination rates. look at the gap closing. as a baseline the number of all american adults a report getting at least one shot now, that number for all american

adults is now 72%. but look at it by race. the numbers have really evened out. the percentage of white adults who have gotten at least one shot is now 71%. compare that not to black adults and hispanic adults. those reporting it because one shot, 70% of among black adults, 73% among hispanic adults. those are all really really tight. and hispanic adults are the highest proportion. this basically means that race is no longer exist distinctly -- factors for those who have chosen to become vaccinated. there really isn't a racial divide anymore. but there is another factor that sticks out like a skyscraper. take a look at this as i said 72% of american adults have at least one shot that's our baseline here, but in blue there that's the of democrats who say they've got in the least one shot, that's 90%. now look at republicans who said they've gotten at least one shot that is 58%.

that is the gaping divide now. that is the difference. now that is where we are as a country. how do we defeat that? challenge joining us now is lewis hamilton's vice president and director of public opinion and surges for the kaiser family foundation. miss kaiser thanks for having appreciate you being here tonight thank you me. . >> let me ask you about the significance of these findings in the change over time. to me it feels like positive news for the country, positive news for public health, to see the racial divide shrink. it wasn't a gigantic divide as recently as july, but larger than today. in significant terms, have those numbers tightened up meaningfully? >> yes. and even if we go back further than july, if we go back to april in may, what we found in our surveys is that many black and hispanic adults were telling us they weren't yet

ready to make a decision about getting the vaccine. they had questions and concerns, and also concerns about effects in addition to access. one in terms of vaccinations, the gap has closed in our surveys in large part. >> in terms of the divide that remains, with political affiliation, is there anything in your survey datahat indicates, other than calling yoself democratic republican, what may be driving those decisions? you just spoke about the kinds of concerns that were driving what we had previously seen as a racial gap. where there e other subtleties about why republicans are more reluctant to get vaccinated, that your surveyor's and polls were able to figure out? >> yeah. well, it's not a new thing, that we see these partisan divides and how people think about the vaine. it reflects a lot of other

attitudes toward the pandemic in general, that divide along partisan lines. think one of the big ones, in terms of understanding attitudes, is the fact that republicans are much more likely to feel that the seriousness of the pandemic has been exaggerated by the news media. they are much less likely to be personally worried about getting sick, as opposed to democrats who are more likely to feel like the seriousness is being appropriately reported and they are more worried about themselves and family members getting sick. >> one of the things that we have seen in terms of policy intervention that has been, at least in my trained eyes, been shockingly effectiv are these vaccine requirements. i'm saying that they seem to ve been shockingly effective, mostly on se reported results from the entities putting in place the rules. for example, united airlines announced that once they were going to requirvaccination for employees, 97% of their u.s. base workforce is now

vaccinated. today, with the vaccine requirement for new york health workers going into effect, today the percentage of new york health workers who've gotten an additional vaccine is up to 92%. it does feel like employment based vaccine requirements, at least anecdotally, are showing themselves to be very effective in terms of raising numbers. does it is there much that survey can tell you about whether that is in effect? and in terms of the differences that underlie those differences in the first place between democrats and republicans? >> we did ask people about these employee requirements. not surprisingly, there are not popular among unvaccinated people. and if we asked unvaccinated people, what would you do if your employer requires you to get a vaccine? about 3:10 say they would have

to get it. but when you give thean option to get tested weekly, over half take the tested weekly option. so i think, over how successful the vaccinations are, what may have to do with how employers roll them out. >> right, exactly. lewis hamilton, vice director of public opinion research for kaiser family foundation. thank you and your colleagues for putting this out in a way that is understandable violate audience. and thank you for helping us understand tonight. >> thank you for having me. >> it is important to understand these dynamics. i will say, that one of the things that caught my eye today in terms of vaccine requirements is that the vatican is now putting in place a vaccine requirement. owas a catholic, it has been interesting for me, personally, watching people try to say, they should get a religious exemption, from the vaccine because they are catholic. well, not only is pope francis

[laughs] i get a hive somewhere. but this is a real thing. it's still happening. we are now more than eight months into the biden administration and you know who is still running a major federal agency we all count on? this guy. his name is louis dejoy and somewhat unbelievably, he is still the postmaster general of the united states. he was appointed to that job, running the u.s. post office, during the trump administration, last year. he has zero postal service experience. but lots of experience running companies that compete with the post office and therefore which the post office to be worse at what it does. he also has lots of experience shoveling huge amounts of money to republican candidates, including trump. as you may recall, as soon as louis dejoy took this post, he started deliberately slowing down mail delivery in this

country. you may remember some of his greatest hits, like destroying 10% of the postal services custom-made voting sorting machines. just as they were sorting through millions of votes for the presidential election. he has done well personally, and under louis dejoy leadership, the u.s. postal service ramped up its services with a logistics business that was louis dejoy used to run. it's a company that continues to pay him millions of dollars through investments and contracts. so the postal service is doing more business with the company that he is involved with. to top it all off, he is under fbi investigation, for an alleged, brazen, illegal campaign donations scheme. former employees describe to the washington post and almost comically blatant operation,

which dejoy he pressured someone ploys to make donations to republican candidates of his choosing. he would then reimburse those employees for their quote, donations. that's part of a straw donor scheme and that is against the law. how canhis guy still be running the postal service? it is true that president biden nnot fire him directly. he technically reports to a board of governors, many of whom are also holdovers from the trump administration. the chair of that board, who has backed dejoy, the chair is the head of an investment firm, from which dejoy has purchased hundreds of thousands dollars worth of bonds since he has had the postmaster job. how is this tangible, that he is still the postmaster general? this means more of his plans for ruining the mail are going into effect. usa today reported that, affective end of this week, the
