vossoughian, if you're just joining us, welcome. it's good to see. if you're sticking with us, thank you. to republican governors and potential 2024 presidential candidates trafficking in human suffering to score what they see is political points. more migrants arriving today, outside the residence of vice president harris in a continuing and cruel effort by greg abbott and ron desantis. one group is about to fight back. in a moment and more to talk to -- garcia about what he has in store in texas tomorrow. also this hour, as the doj moves to appeal a -- an ominous warning and which sure sounds like a threat from donald trump. and i'll be joined by a woman who's become a hero in her fight for trans kids, her own and others. texas mom joining us live on
12:02 pm
set to talk about her efforts to fight anti trans laws. it's now inspired a video game to help other family struggling as well. we begin this hour with the migrant crisis at the southern border, in major cities hundreds of miles from the border. this was the scene, earlier today, outside of vice president kamala harris's residence in washington d.c., where additional buses arrived. they're being sent by governors, primarily run desantis and greg abbott of texas, who claimed they're just relocating the migrants to sanctuary city. we are joined from port authority where buses continue to arrive. >> thus far today six busloads of migrants have arrived here at port authority in new york city, the last three busloads, people telling us they came here from venezuela, a few saying they have family in the new york area. most telling us they have no idea why they were sent to new york. point of authority officials
12:03 pm
telling us, all six busloads came from el paso texas. of course, this has been going on for months. republican governors have been sending busloads and as of this week, private planes filled with migrants to cities in the north. democratic strongholds, basically, and sanctuary cities. this week, florida governor ron desantis making big headlines, taking credit for sending two private plane falls to martha's vineyard, roughly 50 people, venezuelan migrants saying that his state legislature has set aside $12 million to make these trips continue, and telling democrats in the cities that they should expect more. as of today, again, that seems to be the case in new york. also in d.c.. the second bus full of migrants arriving this morning. the second best for this week outside vice president kamala harris is washington d.c. home. governors telling us they have no plans to stop this routine anytime soon.
12:04 pm
based on what we've seen here, that does seem to be the case. i'll send it back to you. >> thank you for that. i want to bring in domingo garcia, the president of lulac the nation's largest latino rats organization. thank you for joining us. i know you're planning a protest in texas to prevent more buses from coming. >> we plan to have peaceful civil disobedience. basically first of all notified these immigrants, these refugees, about the race. they don't have to get on these buses. many of them don't know they're gonna be dumped at six in the morning at the vice president's home, or where they're gonna be dropped by -- it's disgusting, it's terrible, the politics are using these refugees. for >> take me inside the minds of some of these migrants. i know that you are speaking to
12:05 pm
some of them amidst this whole experience. i can't imagine what it's like to add them to have to travel by bus, by plane, some of them with newborn infants and hand. and go somewhere they gotten, they have no idea where they are. what are they telling you? >> i wasn't at -- i was at martha's vineyard yesterday, talking to several of the immigrants. almost all of them were venezuelan, they can't be departed back, they're fleeing a communist dictatorship. what they're saying is, i want to go to portland oregon, what am i doing in massachusetts? i didn't ask to come here. they were taken advantage of. they were allowed to. they were promised the real get judge for three months. they can't get a job, they're under federal, legally, here. they have to apply for a work permit. they're being given false premises, lies, by contractors from these two governors. and being abused in a very un-christian, an american way. >> i wanna play for you some
12:06 pm
sound from a boston immigration attorney who talked about the experience of many of these migrants, that ended up in martha's vineyard. then we'll talk about it on the other side. >> they were lied to again, and again. fraudulently induced to board the plane's. they were told there was a surprise present for them, and that there would be jobs and housing awaiting for them when they arrived. this was obviously a cystic liar. not only did those responsible for the stunt know that there is no housing, and no employment awaiting the migrants, they also very intentionally chose not to color head, to any single office authority on martha's vineyard so even the most basic human needs arrangements could be made. ensuring that no help awaited the migrants at all, was the entire point. >> these families, men women children, they are being used as political pawns. that's not an opinion, it's a
12:07 pm
fact. do they know that? >> they do not, they don't know that there being political opinion, is being beat up and abused, discarded on the sidewalks of the vice president 's house at 6:00 in the morning. no food, nor water, no provisions, or what to do when they get there. the attorney said it correctly. this is sadistic and cruel, use of human beings, children, families to try to score political points. this is a lack of common decency. the lack of common christian charity that you would use for any fellow human being who came here looking for refuge in this country. it's spitting in the face of the statue of liberty and telling you we don't want your masses -- anymore go back to where you come from. that's not the america that i know. that's not the america a grew up in. unfortunately, these two governors are using this type of statistic cool tactics and

could you imagine it ending up where it has now? >> no one at all. i was there in that room when giuliani made those comments. it was an extraordinary moment. you could never imagine him becoming the tragic figure that he has become today. i think that moment is really the tip off to what happened, 9/11 was as he recently said, the worst moment of his life, and the greatest moment of his life. giuliani took a lot of heat for the insensitivity of that remark. but he was telling the truth. 9/11 was the best day of his life. until he decided to exploited. and the seeds of his failure, of his destruction, happened because of his desire to capitalize on 9/11. it led to a litany of terrible decisions, all made in his own

he was arguably the most famous prosecutor of the 19 80s, the most famous mayor of the 1990s, and after 9/11, he was more popular than the pope, according to polls. he saw himself as a person who had the corner on morality. he was a person who was led by a moral calling, as he saw it. and who did enormously emerald things in the name of morality. it's an extremely complex person you're talking about. who reached epic highs and epic lows. and for a rider it doesn't get more interesting than that. >> he started the book off with this. it's a question to the former new york city mayor about his legacy. he says to you, i don't care about my legacy. he told me. i'll be dead.
