communities, in maryland and nationwide. how would you helped with that? >> well, that's a great question. i think the big challenges with respect to the economy. inflation has been a huge challenge. gas is too high. groceries have been too high. i think the biden administration has taken steps to help address that. the fed has been pushing on interest rates. i'm starting to get worried they're going to push it too hard into her session. hopefully, they will find the right way to thread the needle. they will scale that back. the other part, to we've had issues like growing the economy, getting people to be part of it. getting their jobs in opportunities there. student debt has been a huge issue. i was pleased to see the prescription drug steps taken. the road decision, trying to find ways to make sure we protect reproductive rights.

leaders in the republican party that are finally trying to sever ties with them. i say finally because they are about for years too late. giving all the ridiculous criminal and shocking things that he did while he was in the white house. it is surprising that they waited this long. the problem that they got, there are still a lot of republicans who support the president, the former president. you are going to have to have a civil war basically to resolve that within the republican party. that's also reflected in the house caucus. we saw that last week with mccarthy trying to become the speaker. we're not getting enough votes to get there. i don't know what the republicans are going to do. i don't know if they're going to get on the same page. it's important for the democrats to continue being the adults in the room, moving the country in the right direction. >> all right, representative-elect glenn iv, thank you for being with us. up, next up first for politicsnation. i'm going to talk about soccer. stay with us.
