there was a lot of protest for months. social media the not have the same kind of multiplying effect that it does. now this is a huge element of it and i think that it is one step of the puzzle. you and i were at an event together a couple weeks back where the former secretary of state, hillary clinton spoke about the importance of online movement but the shell so made it an important point that that is just one piece of the puzzle. and that is not the thing that will topple the regime and iran or china or anywhere else. it is so important and galvanizing support, interests and the political will of leaders in the west to do something about it. >> you, know what i found is sounding us what the iranian government is doing and as you and i both know the reporting coming out of iran is incredibly scattering. it's hard to verify a lot of times because of the closures of inter -- and the government trying to

justifies its existence essentially by saying that their rule by the right of god. but ultimately, they have no regard for human life, for international law or basic dignity and we are seeing that over and over again. not only how they put them in protest but how they respond to the deaths of the people that they kill. >> jason, one last one to you and it's a big one. what do you think would squeeze the islamic republic, the regime to the point in which they are being real, demonstrable change? >> the challenge and frankly the problem yasmin is that i don't see this as a regime that is going to stand iran for its basic activities in the way that it run itself for the last 43 years. it is not capable of fundamental change. and for that reason, i think we will be in a period of a protractive, prolonged apprise
