12:14 pm
seen what should be done about it, which is a high level national investigation. the hope was to have it be bipartisan commission outside of congress, but that was shot down by the presidents allies. so we do have a bipartisan, house committee, that has dug into this issue, has followed every lead, has taken thousands of depositions, review tens of thousands of text messages, all the evidence they could get their hands on, and of course some of it is been denied them by the president's closest allies, but they've done a high-level investigation. they've gone public with what happened. they're gonna present the nation with the final conclusions. they've already done a really great job of pulling together the threats. there was a lot to happen in plain view, in public view. but putting together so we understand why it was happening's been really important. >> my follow-up here is, what recommendations do you want to

12:18 pm
so we really have to do something. we are past the time where we should be doing something. thursday's hearing was about finding bipartisan solutions to gun violence. and it gives you an unfortunate preview of what we will be facing with the new congress when the two witnesses called by the minority. when you are somebody who saw that all of grand violence is the fault of children and fatherless homes and the second one was basically the nra's favorite status, whose methodology's and conclusions have been deepened time after time for the last several decades. so it does not appear that we have serious interest on the other side and pursuing actual solutions to gun violence and my part of the hearing. i tried to highlight the fact that you know, one republican say we have to enforce the laws that are on the books, great. we have good laws respecting who should be able to buy a gun and under what circumstances they can be sold to them. we only have 2600 employees and
