not just other potential charg but legal matters an proceedings going forward. how long could the stretch and, we know, of course that will happen against th backdrop of trump' presidential campaign, further complicating matters >> yes, it is a great question i do think we are very soon to be in a position of really thinking about what will the former president due to dela things i think it is really important to remember that the new yor state charges are differen than the federal charges in on incredibly important respects. they are federally pardon proof, whatever happens in th presidential election, pardone at the federal level could not affect the state charges and, there is another way that new york charges are different that is different than the georgia charges. which is, we are seeing that the georgia governor and legislature are trying to take steps that allow them to remov

-- and other das they disagre with and so, new york charges are particularly deadly fo somebody like former president trump. because, you do not have any effort by the governor, here or the legislature to signal that they are in any way going to interfere with that case. that being said, the forme president can try and slow the case he needs discovery, he needs time to prepare. as any defendant would he can try and claim that ther is federal preemption, he ca try and claim that he wa immune from prosecution. i don't think those will likel go anywhere. your question is really is enough to help them slow dow the case the answer, unfortunately, i think the answer is that yes t that and, in any criminal case he will have a bunch of novel issues because, we had never been i this situation before. and, no court has been in this situation before so, it will take some time after charges are brought. >> andrew, the legal consensus

>> too many close calls as h weighed out there so well in your piece i want to go back to the story we read coming into you, which was this man on a flight fro los angeles to boston, attempting to open the door, stabbing, or attempting to sta and the way. we get some scrapes in on flight attendant what more do we know about him and what exactly happened on that plane >> we know that the starte with an alert that went off in the cockpit, the cockpit got a alert, a warning, that one o the doors between the coas section and first class that s many had tried to open it, o at, least that they, the lover had been moved that set off in the law in the cockpit. they called the flight attendants and said, can you g check that door? when they did, fligh attendants aren't yet, somebod had attempted to prove the lover and open the door. when they asked around, th other passenger said, this guy right here, they confronte him. he said, do you have any video proof? do you have any cameras? it escalated from there. he got up and he took a spoo he broke it in half, allegedly and stab the flight attendant.

this i remember, we did a read throug a bunch of sketches, and mel came on and said, you know, liked the musical numbers, because you can't do a mel brooks project without musical numbers. he said, i like the musica numbers and i like some of tha reads. which is very funny. and then he said at the end, we're going to get some letter about this, and that's good. he's still talking about letters. you get the idea but it speaks to a larger thin about what mel wanted out of the show, which is continuin to be provocative. mel brooks's work is alway provocative, but always sill as well, and that was a goal for us to try to make some o that, something that was ver funny that was social satire but never taking itself to seriously. >> when you say letters, tha proves he is actually 98, no 96 >> exactly he didn't tell us, though. he said, don't be afraid t make dirty jokes we really took at the heart. it is absolutely disgusting. >> before we let you go, by the, way off to congratulate this
