sentence, the prevalence o sexual violence in this country, and are woefully inept responses to it. and they were angry abou racial disparities i sentencing that a white privilege college kids would have gotten a different sentence tha somebody - a person of color or somebod who was low income i believe it all those thing are absolutely right to be outraged about but i don't think the recall was the right response to it what we know now is that in th six weeks following th announcement of the recall sentences increased 30% across the entire state of california that did not affect the rock turner's of the world, but i disproportionately affected lo income and people of color the exact people tha proponents of the recall wer claiming to serve. i think this is a real momen to step back and reflect and re-frame our conversation abou what happens when we deman
