capitol in nashville look at these images this is today. you might have seen in the news last week, thursday last week, a lot of kids at nashville did the same last week tennessee kids crowded into the galleries overlooking the state house floor, calling for gun reforms. that was thursday last week. today they rallied on the state capitol steps in nashville in huge numbers, they lined up, they went through security and they just poured into the hallways of the state capitol. at one point mounting a kind of sit-in of the house speaker. the same house speaker today stripped two democratic legislators of their committee assignments and threatened to expel three democratic state legislatures from the state legislature altogether, threatening to throw them out because those three democratic

state legislators joined with the kids in the gallery last week tonight those kids are back at the state capitol. and joining them are apparently a bunch of parents who had their little kids in tow with them and they are planning to stay through this evening's legislative sessions in nashville at the state capitol in tennessee we're keeping an eye on nashville as that story unfolds. just some remarkable images today out of tennessee meanwhile today, the republican governor of forward made a sort of telling decision to do this behind closed doors today ron desantis signed new legislation for florida. and he did it in this session that was closed to the public. only the nra was invited another pro gun lobbyist nobody else knew about it. but the bill that he signed with the nra behind closed doors will now make it legal in florida for anybody to carry a concealed,

loaded weapon with no permit, no training, no background checks, no license if you're in florida and you're breathing, feel free to put a loaded gun in your pants and take it wherever you want. a new law signed into effect today by ron desantis. interesting go that governor ron desantis chose to do this signing without the public invited. without anybody even notified in advance that he was doing it just him and the gun lobbyists behind closed doors. that said, that same governor, ron desantis got a political gift today from his biggest supposed political rival whether or not you really wanted to see the moment by moment o.j. simpson style bronco on the freeway coverage of former president trump leaving his house in florida, and going to the airport, and then leaving the airport in new york, and going to his house in new york,
6:06 pm
whether or not you wanted to see the moment by moment motorcade coverage of that today, tracking the progress of him like he's instantly, and we're all norad, tracking the progress of him today so we can see him leave florida and go to new york so he can be arraigned tomorrow. whether or not you wanted to see that moment by moment coverage today, the fact is donald trump did leave his house in florida to be on time in court tomorrow. however excited you were to see the coverage, or not, one thing that means, at least one thing that appears to mean for sure is that former president trump is apparently not going to hide out in florida and refuse to surrender himself for arraignment. i say this is a gift, a political gift to governor ron desantis
6:07 pm
you may recall last week governor desantis got up on his proverbial hind legs, he said as for the governor, he would refuse to take part in extradition proceedings to get trump from florida to new york that remarkable story from florida governor ron desantis raised the prospect that trump might refuse to turn himself in. that he might try to, what, barricade himself, somehow stay in florida and initiate some kind of stand-off where he is daring law enforcement to come get him at his florida home while florida's governor tells florida law enforcement not to help arrest trump. nobody quate knew how that would go if trump tried to pull that off. that is a spectacularly unconstitutional thing for desantis to do on trump's behalf but trump saved him from having to put his money where his mouth
6:08 pm
is trump saved ron desantis from having to show what he actually meant by that when he flewhis big plane from florida to new york conceding that he will be arrested tomorrow and he will not fight it so the florida law enforcement stand-off over trump being extradited, that is not going to happen which is good news for the country. the prospect of that happening taught us that florida's republican governor is happy to defy the constitution in order to help trump. that's good to know. we had to assume he would try it today we learned he wouldn't do that the other half that is now becoming known is what had been a very open question at how trump supporters would respond to the arrest indictment of the former president
6:09 pm
you might remember what trump first said when he announced to the country that he believed he would be indicted and arrested do you remember what his first statement was? he had a declarative demand to his supporters he said, protest take our nation back we must save america protest, protest, protest. do you know what didn't happen that didn't happen that was a couple of weeks ago now when trump first said that he would be arrested he demanded that his supporters get out to the streets, that they protest in response to the threat to arrest him that did not happen. nobody protested and you could say, okay, maybe that's because trump was wrong about when he would be indicted. when he would be arrested. he wasn't arrested that tuesday when he thought he would be.
6:10 pm
that day passed without him being arrested or indicted then it happened we learned late in the day on thursday that trump had been indicted and trump's lawyers confirmed that he had been indicted then the d.a.'s office in new york confirmed he had been indicted we learned tomorrow, tuesday, he will be arrested he will be arraigned but nobody protested a handful showed up and waved flags at mar-a-lago but wasn't anything that constitute an event by any stretch of the imagination. we've had headline after headline after headline that everybody is bracing for mass protests by supporters it's not happening at left a so far it's not happening. and that in itself is an interesting political fact a known outcome. he specifically called on his

6:13 pm
in any jurisdictions in september he said it again. he was asked if he would be indicted he said in response, i think it could happen i think you would have problems in this country the likes of which perhaps we've never seen before i don't think the people of the united states would stand for it now we know, the people of the united states are standing for it, it turns out and we'll see what tomorrow is like we will see whether there is a massive millions of people filling the streets protest in manhattan tomorrow maybe there will be. who knows? he asked people to protest, protest, protest, in response to the news of his indictment so far his requests, his demands that people turn to the streets in record numbers on his behalf. number we've never seen before protests like we've never seen before in america. so far, his people are not doing what he told them to do and what

he confidently said they would do but who knows? who knows? we'll see what happens tomorrow. and like we've been reporting on this show, what i've been trying to portray about how this will go, there is lots to come. this is the start of a legal process. if it goes terribly for him will likely end with him being fined for something his lawyer already went to prison for it will take a long time it often takes forever it will take a long time even in the short term, it's going to be a lot of motions, a lot of legalese and be mixed up with other legal processes here we are at the beginning of

republicans have poured in essentially an equal number of millions of dollars all through dark money, undisclosed, far right wing groups that are running are ads that are tried to smear her and terrify people against voting for their own democracy. tomorrow we'll find out. these races can come down to microscopic margins. in 2016 it came down to less than half of 1% of the vote. tomorrow if we win by ten votes, i will be thrilled my hope and my belief is it will be more than that. the wind is at our backs but anything can happen in wisconsin. anyone who hasn't voted yet will cast their vote early tomorrow the weather is bad and we cannot leave anything to chance >> i feel like a lot of the national discussion, reporters trying to say why it is so important have talked about this race between daniel kelly, the

few weeks ago on the show. might remember some of this footage. we heard from a lots of you about it it is footage from a neo-nazi rally targeting trans people i'm not using neo-nazi as an epithet. that's what we're dealing with here >> we showed you this video on the show a few weeks ago protesters including dozens of neo-nazis, some of them conspicuously armed. they're carrying swastika flags, shouting, screaming at a drag queen story hour that was being held in wadsworth, ohio. here's an update this photo is from a newly released criminal complaint.
6:55 pm
this complaint identifies a 20-year-old man you see at the center of the image as a member of the ohio chapter of white lives matter this photo shows him at that antitrans protest that we covered last month on friday, this man was arrested and charged in federal court for allegedly trying to fire bomb an ohio church. he is currently in federal custody. according to the fbi and the justice department, he drove to a church more than an hour from his home he brought with him these molotov cocktails filled with gasoline he then fire bombed the church it was marked with scorch marks. the fbi said they were able to link him to the attack by tracing his cell phone according to the criminal x complaint, when the fbi agents arrived at his home, he admitted to buildings the molotov cocktails. he said it was to stop a drag show event that was scheduled
6:56 pm
the following week at the church he told him his only regret was that the molotov cocktails didn't cause more damage there was nobody inside the church at the time that he attacked it. nobody was hurt but you can see there was some damage. the church said they would like to see this young man prosecuted to send a message to other like-minded people the church also says they forgive him for what he did. in the end, the church was able to hold that drag story event that they had planned for the past weekend as originally planned. there was a protest about 15 minutes down the road at a related drag event in a neighboring town this was targeted by white nationalists called the patriot front. that's done across the street near the gazebo. the ultra right, including the neo-nazi movement in this country, is for whatever reason, extremely energized right now. and yeah

we talk a lot about how the very far right, how extremists are connected to electoral politics and the like but these federal charges were trying to fire bomb a church over a drag story hour it really puts an exclamation mark on it regardless of what it is connected to. again, he's enbe charged in federal court. he's in custody right now. we'll know more later this week when he has his first day in court. stay with us we gotta go again. only pay for what you need. ♪ liberty. liberty. liberty. liberty. ♪ when you have chronic kidney disease. there are places you'd like to be. like here. and here.
