it's been a very busy week all we start with the continue assault on women's ability t make decisions about our own bodies today, people rallied across the country for the right to have abortions that ryka change in just a few days because a little over a week ago, a federal judge in texas issued a preliminary ruling invalidating the fda' 23 year old approval of th abortion pill, mifepristone. this was nothing short o devastating. the ruling effectively ban mifepristone and further restrict abortion access in ou country, even in states wher abortion is protected. now less than an hour afte that, ruling a judge i washington state issued contradictory ruling in anothe case, ordering the fda not t make changes to mifepristone access the justice department immediately appealed the rulin

from the judge in texas to a higher court, the fifth circui and on wednesday, those judges concluded that the guy in texa was not wrong. -- the fifth circuit order di block the texas judge' decision to ban mifepristone outright, citing the statute o limitations but beyond that, all they agreed with everythin else including requiring multiple doctor visits t obtain the drug and banning it from being sent through th mail so as a result to ensure tha pregnant people in this countr have access to lifesavin medicine, the bide administration appealed again. this, time it went all the way up to the supreme court. and yesterday, justice alito responded and temporaril restored full access t mifepristone that does not mean that th battle is over you can see here, in his order that alito state that lowe courts ruling for just a few days until this coming wednesday at 11:59 pm to be exact after, that the high court's conservative majority coul still rule in favor of nationwide restrictions on

i will give you a story. last, week when i sat down wit my team of organizers to map out prior to, this to map ou what goals we wanted to set. we base them off of the last two years of organizing nominee people we have bee able to register to vote how many people we have been able to sign our commitment to vote plan. and so we created our metric based off of that. it lasted three, days my organizers were able to hi their metrics. and, fact in nashville w exceeded our voter registratio goal not just for the quarter simone not just for the week before the year. we have already hit our ears voter registration goals so republicans thought it was game, as representative jone said we are now in the find ou portion. >> how are you going to keep those folks involved tequila because you have directl connected the expulsions t republican fears about black voter participation. it seems to me that now thos fears should be amplified give the numbers that you just told

us how will you keep those folk engaged and involved >> we'll know it's some to tak that energy that pearson and jones and lawyer johnson mobilized and actually organiz them during the protest, we had wha we call our vote mob and the mob since for more, belies organize and build power they were out at every actio with q r coats, clipboards backpacks, just old-school voter registration oh score organizing style, collecting as much information and data as possible we are now looking to put abou 100 organizers on the ground this year across the state t one register as many people as we can two, to build up our voter education program, the liberty collective that we have retrain people on actually becoming organizers, sitting o boards and commissions and running for office and, three we will make sure these people get to the polls. i mean it is not a, game the literally lit a fire under a movement that we thought had died down.
