reacting to the supreme cour ruling in his favor ahead of his expected big announcement? >> this is something the white house was bracing for, waiting for this as it takes so clos to the deadline. yesterday richard, everybody from the president, the vice president, the prosecutor said yes, this is essentially temporary relief and they were happy to see the supreme court take this action for now overall, they are still very concerned about what could happen in the future as it relates to abortion access the president said that he wil continue to move alongside his vice president and fight for millions of women and thei reproductive health and rights to this kind of medication he's going to continue t defend the fda's what they cal evidence based approval of thi drug for more than 23 years. it has deemed safe and effective so far but you're right, this is a bi backdrop and important context

anticipated reelection announcement that could have a early as next week as abortion is likely to be a key issue in that race. that's something the white house points to, but last year 's midterms cooley showed that this issue is and energizing one for voters this is something also that th president, when he does likely announce this via video in the coming days, this is something that he is going to add to other accomplishments in terms of what they feel they've been able to do from a legislativ point of view. and then on battles that the are still waging like abortion access i think we'll expect to hear a little bit about that. overall we are hearing fro lawmakers, democratic allies o the president on how they ar assessing another run the whit house. here was congressman adam smit just last hour on that >> president biden, all things going on for last two years, h has a really good job. when you look at what wa accomplished in the last two years as we are trying t combat the pandemic. the passage of the

natural disaster hurricane ian which struck seven months ago is stil leaving its mark stephanie stanton is there stephanie, good afternoon, wha is the scene like? >> good afternoon to you richard. happy earth day as well. as you mentioned, it has bee seven months since hurricane ian came ashore here in cape coral. it came ashore as a category four hurricane but just earlier this month, the national hurricane cente actually upgraded to a categor five the storm caused more than 100 million dollars in damage, als more than 100 people lost thei lives. here's more interesting fact provided to us by the city o cape coral about the hurricane in case you didn't notice. the hurricane was, is th largest storm in u.s. history. it also left behind 4.5 year of construction and demolition debris and seven years o vegetative debris. officials say that while man

but they are mortars it is important that we push back on that and we recogniz how we've gotten to this point yes, don't culture plays a hug role in that but for why we have the gu culture, the race, the class issues, the political issues those are all intersecting right now how determined >> what will be generational issues as you saw, that was the grandson talking about the grandfather. in these cases, we're no seeing the typical, if you will, prototype or architect that ha been reported on in the past where it is a young man. in this case, and in a coupl of cases in the past week, i has not been that ti defecation >> we know that young people overwhelmingly support mor liberal policies, they are recognizing them they are more impacted by gu violence young people, this is th generation of students who gre up with active shooter drills. they absolutely recognize ho harmful our gun culture is they absolutely recognize an see their grandparents, thei parents, their neighbors being radicalized. we have been speaking ou against it we have been marching agains
