multiple reports it is absolutely unconscionable the highest court in the lan should not be subject to the lowest ethical standards but that's the type of behavio that we're hearing about through these reports. so, inquiries, investigation are absolutely in order. some have raised concerns abou independents of the thre branches of government and there are three. but the system is one of check and balances and the supreme court will not regulate itself. but i do think it's incumben upon congress to do so, ther certainly precedent for that i a number of areas. and it's so critical because o the importance of a suprem court and the consequence of their actions. the most fundamental critica issues of our country are some of the supreme court peopl need to know that. decisions are being made thoughtfully, fairly, we nee to restore public confidence i

reports we could be just day away from president bide announcing his bid for reelection a new polling from nbc showing the president could have his work cut out from. we want to return to monic alba who's joining us from the white house with more. i just spoke with senato padilla on this, briefly, a lo of democrats not linked -- coming from this latest nb news poll. walk us through some of th numbers that we're seein specifically when it comes t the president and his potentia reelection >> yeah, those democrati lawmakers that support the president have remained quit loyal to him despite some of these numbers. you are absolutely correct i saying that. what this poll shows and w need to remind everyone that 2024 in terms of the general election is still far away, an lots can change but still, it' an important snapshot in where

voters are right now especiall as the presidents getting read to announce his reelection and as the former president trum is someone that's currentl vying for the nomination the context is important in th biggest takeaway is when i comes to both these, then ther is very little appetite on either side of the political structure of for a rematch here and as you see, -- joe biden trump or president again. and 60% believe that donal trump should not either. , so when you talk about majorities here for 2020 for they're looking to someone else but really if you look at wher all of this is like we had and it really could be a rematch, replay of 2020 when you look at the president his approval rating this poll, our nbc national picture her shows that it is lower than it was in january for instance, he's at 41% versus 45% fou months ago but if you specifically zoom into his economic job approval

i can't help but continue to bring it up. abortion it seemed as one of the number one issues when i came to presidential elections before the overturning of roe. oh i can't think that they never actually thought roe was gonna get a returned now that we are there. the majority of americans want abortion to the legal in thi country despite the efforts of republican party they don't necessarily seem to want to talk about it as much. >> now, they don't and rightfully so. the polling isn't, there's all kinds of warning signs tha democrats are gonna take thi issue. we need to learn to talk about in a few weighs one, if you are pro-life, and you're against abortion yo need to talk about support for mothers. you need to talk about adoption you need to talk about other things but all the talk about is what we're banning. and what we're denying there need to be other ways to talk about it. i think the best thing to do i probably as a political matter is not talk about it but i don't think -- >> brendan buck, donna edwards thank you as well. coming, up almost three months
