counter offensive against russia, but also as russia makes progress in countering ukraine remember, russia is now receiving drones from iran, potentially munitions from north korea, there's an extra level of spotlight on this issue right now, president zelenskyy said he had a great dialogue with lawmakers on capitol hill this morning. as you mentioned in an hour, we expect him to meet with president biden in the oval office, and have a wider meeting that will include vice president harris, potentially in the east room, and the focus of that meeting will undoubtedly be what more president zelenskyy wants to be able to continue his counter offensive against russia, but also how much the president is going to be willing to meet him in the middle and match some of those asks we expect the president to announce more military aid, but that's part of a preapproved package that congress has already passed but what's going to be so important to watch is whether his posture on sending things like those longer range

on strike at all three of the big three, ford, general motors, and jeep owner, stellantis have now had their jobs impacted by this strike. that is in addition to the nearly 13,000 workers who were members of the uaw who have been told by the union to go on strike so we're already seeing the domino effect, if you will, beyond those who are officially being told to walk off the job, and what is worth keeping in mind right now is we're looking at less than 10% of the uaw's work force at the big three auto makers currently on strike so this has the potential to get a lot bigger and have a lot more impact on these three companies. and what we're looking at right now is we're on day seven of this strike, and the promise from the uaw is that if there is not substantial progress, that's the general term that's being used by the union by tomorrow at midday, more strike sites will be announced and they're not sharing where those will be at
11:05 am
this point, because part of the strategy of the union on the targeted strike plan has been the jeep the company is guessing they don't want the big three to know where they're going to hit next we are expecting if there isn't a big update in the next 24 hours or so, less than 24 hours at this point, that we are going to see the strike get broader, and i want to underscore again, we're talking about less than 10% of the union on vistrike asf now, and the impact on multiple communities and companies that are not directly tied to the big three. there are suppliers, other firms being impacted as well this is all going on with a fraction of the uaw work force that could be on strike actually striking at this point so we're going to be watching to see how this thing can potentially continue to have a ripple effect. but it's already prompted so far the pressure from the union, prompted at least one new offer, stellantis, according to the union made another offer to the union yesterday. we don't know the details of that at this point but obviously the negotiations

11:08 am
that led to that lethal dose, that sedative that was administered to elijah mcclain, and it sounds like they are going to try to pin that on the paramedics so obviously going to be a lot of finger pointing as this trial goes on, chris. >> dana griffin, thank you for that. hollywood studios and the writers union may be nearing an agreement to end that month-long strike nbc's chloe melas has the latest for us what's the word? do we have any idea how close they might be? and then what could a deal mean for the actor's strike >> great to see you. as we speak we know that the day two of the negotiations are takes place, and what you're seeing is something very unprecedented where the studio heads, these hollywood heavy weights, they are coming to the table, and these people, the people that run netflix, warner brothers discovery, even our own parent company comcast uniform, so they are having these
