hezbollah flak. now, why is this interesting? it's not entirely clear what it is, but it is the first and we are seeing him in live action. we got a photo of him just last week, showing him sitting with other leaders of the so-called access of resistance, those groups that are backed, and in many ways beholden to iran like hezbollah, like hamas. we also saw a leader of palestinian islamic jihad in that group, and it looked like they were having some kind of deliberations, of what to do next. and that is the question everybody here is asking, in lebanon and further afield, what is hezbollah going to be doing next? we have even heard from some hamas, leaders with some very mild careful complaints of the last several weeks, wondering why hezbollah hasn't thrown themselves into this, more in defense of hamas, fighting against israel just as israel moves into the gaza strip. so, these are questions a lot of folks here want to know, because they are really worried that haslett could drag this nation into yet a now they're massively destructive war, after the one in 2006 really, nearly brought lebanon to its knees. but, i am also seeing right

here, some real live action behind me. not just on video, we are seeing over the, stretch this is where the israeli border. is and we have been hearing and actually feeling, as i told you in the last hour, some of the concussive blasts that we have been getting from incoming and outgoing fire, the trading a fire between hezbollah and the israelis. now, this is very troubling. we've been seeing this for the past three weeks, we have been hearing from our position here in lebanon. but we have also been hearing this increase in tempo, and velocity. just today early, we really saw what looked like some of the biggest volleys we have seen. i'm not going to say it was the most violent day that we have seen so far. but, there was also unifil, which is the u.n. force on the border. they said that one of their personnel went a blast, when a projectile landed around in there, area which is that they have a base right off in the quarter which, is right down there, right near the border of israel. so clearly, things are heating up. we also saw the city of khiry of -- which was just evacuated more than ten days ago, which is in

israel. that took a strike, apparently from hezbollah. that city of course had no people and had been evacuated. but it looks as though, hezbollah is expanding its zone of attack, deeper into israel. that is just the kind of thing that can cause what is already been a major fight, not nearly what we are seeing in gaza or in israel, but a major conflict turned into a wild war, the kind of thing that nobody can control. because so far, there is a sort of -- modus operandi. there is an understood, unstated means of fighting here, that both sides of silver been sticking to the past three weeks. but that could change at anytime. if they got a signal from iran, their main benefactor, or have from kherson mullah, the man whose back we are seeing on that video. today that could change this, that could change the calculation for the entire region. that could drag the u.s. into. or because, again we are now seeing that there are not one, but two aircraft strike groups off the coast of israel, waiting to see if this -- so that is why this is such a
