deciders. today, we are 100 days out from an election, where the script is so fluid, the uncertainty so vast and the story so far: so unbelievable. we have questions, starting with what is happening 100 days out? well, the harris campaign is reporting an eye-popping $200 million raised in just the past week. the vice president also adding to her endorsements in just the last hour, adding former vp al gore. and, one of her potential running mates is on the stump in georgia, part of a massive mobilization effort in key states. the enthusiasm, meantime, of donald trump's base has not do waned. check out this time-lapse video. b a mile long line to see him this weekend in st. cloud, minnesota. some people waiting for hours. more questions. will it be the grassroots group, on the ground, in their own neighborhoods with their own friends, who ultimately swing this election?
8:03 pm
what are the voters in the six r states that are expected to decide this election telling us? how does that conform dewhat harris and trump do next? we will ask representatives from both campaigns and bring you the latest answers to all te the ski questions. but, let's start with four of the battleground states, we are our correspondents have taken up residence and have talked with hundreds of voters, who we call them deciders. let's begin with georgia, where the harris campaign is holding several events today, including one headlined by kentucky governor andy beshear , who go will be joining us later this hour. tell us about the event and the mood there since harris has shaken up the race. >> reporter: chris, voters rs there were energetic, they were
8:04 pm
excited, just like they had been at most of the harris campaign events this weekend. the only difference is that thef event was in forsyth county, a predominantly white conservative county the former president won safely in 2020, picking up 65% of the boat. it also shows you how andy beshear, who is under consideration for vp, could a that ticket. he's able to speak to those voters and rally them around te the vice president harris. i have to tell you, you have really seen the harris campaign make a full show of strength. they have had more than 174 events, they have registered more than 6000 new volunteers. they now have 28 offices statewide, including three that are open this weekend alone. voters here are energized. yesterday, i spoke to several. e many of whom pointed to the history making nature of vice president harris's candidacy is what is fueling their enthusiasm. take a listen. >> i feel like it is history for us. i feel like it is good and to know that we can become whatever we want to become if we put our hearts to it. it is great for the women, it is great for us the black community. it is just great and, i think she is going to give trump what
8:05 pm
he needs. he's not ready mpfor this. >> chris, georgia now a top target for the harris campaign. vice president harris will be here on tuesday. based on the enthusiasm i'm seeing across the state, and feeling that event will be as packed as her event in milwaukee was last week. >> nnamdi egwuonwu, thank you so much for that. let's make our way to pennsylvania now. and, let's get the latest on the ground we are pennsylvania heavy hitters are endorsing shapiro as a central harris running mate. tell us what is enhappening. >> reporter: chris, almost every single democrat here in pennsylvania that i spoke and has expressed great support for governor shapiro and they are go really, really hoping he ends re up being vice president harris's running mate. there are two prmain reasons fo that. the first one is he is currently the only governor in the united states who oversees a divided legislature.
8:06 pm
so, they point erto his ability to be effective and get things done. the second reason is because he knows how to win pennsylvania. back in 2020, when he was running for his second term as attorney general, he was on ther same ballot as president biden and he got more votes than biden. he actually broke the record and became the highest vote getter in pennsylvania. when he was running for governor in 2022, he won by nearly 15 percentage points. here's the thing. nt governor shapiro over and over o again has said that this is a deeply personal decision that should be made without any political pressure. voters, nevermind that them areo still hoping it is him. take a listen. >> welcome i would like her to d pick someone she can work with but i hope that person is shapiro because there are a lots of good reasons for that. g the electoral votes, the fact that he is well spoken and he is a moderate. i think he would appeal in lots of ways. >> well, shapiro is the candidate, he's from pennsylvania. pennsylvania is the key to this country. the writing is on the wall.
8:07 pm
pick shapiro. >> now, it is not only the voters saying that. a lot of heavy hitters here in pennsylvania, legislators, are something they also hope it is governor shapiro. for example, i wrote this article with my colleague, brendan leach, and we reported a lot of democrats in the state are making an aggressive push ar for governor shapiro. everyone from the mayor of philadelphia to the speaker of the house of pennsylvania is really hoping it is governor shapiro. i will end with this. wi the pennsylvania democratic chair, senator charisse street says he's not going to endorse in this particular race because of his position. however, he did say he would be lying and being disingenuous if he didn't say that having governor shapiro as running mate would make his life extremely easy over the next couple of months. >> emma barnett in philadelphia for us. let's go to arizona, where alex tabet is live in phoenix. how has the change in the democratic ticket altered
8:08 pm
things in that state, especially with senator mark kelly as a potential vp choice? >> reporter: chris, i've been >> living here in arizona since february. over the last five months, there hasn't been that much optimism about president biden's chances from democrats. they saw poll after poll showing former president donald trump performing president biden . there wasn't really that sense of enthusiasm. that really changed this past week, where democrats are now feeling a renewed sense of energy. and what you do here how some democrats are experiencing this moment right now. >> the excitement is so palpable for kamala harris. i think she has a much better chance to take on donald e trump. >> it gave new energy to the campaign. i think also she is appealing to the young vote.
8:09 pm
>> you mentioned senator mark kelly, who is also getting a lot of arizonans excited. it is not just because he is a hometown hero. if you want to understand how much arizonans love a hometown hero, ask arizonans about vaughn hilliard. it is not just that he is an astronaut and republicans, democrats, and independents all seem to agree that being an astronaut is pretty cool, it has to do a lot with the fact that senator mark kelly has taken a strong, moderate stance on immigration, which is important to a lot of arizonans, given it is a border state. chris. >> alex tabet, thank you for that. it is no surprise kamala harris's first presidential rally was in battleground, l wisconsin, a state where a pew survey says 42% of voters identify as republicans, 42% identify as democrats . it is de also home to another decider county, dane county, we are defined the university of wisconsin and the state capitol. msnbc political analyst elise c jordan spoke to a group of
8:10 pm
progressive voters there. >> i think what you brings is fresh. she was in office for four years so she might not have the network but she knows the network. she knows who the e players are >> it gives us a chance. she can win, i'm convinced she h has at least a 50-50 shot against trump. i would love for the democrats to nominate aoc or someone like that but i live in the real world and again, this election, democracy is on the line. >> you think vice president harris has a much better shot of defeating donald trump? >> absolutely. >> i thought joe biden had a 0% chance. elise also spoke to a group of donald trump diehards in green bay, wisconsin. they, not surprisingly, had a very different reaction to the harris candidacy. take a listen. n >> do you think that having vice president kamala harris as the nominee dramatically
