when i was diagnosed with h-i-v, i didn't know who i would be. but here i am... being me. keep being you... and ask your healthcare provider about the number one prescribed h-i-v treatment, biktarvy. biktarvy is a complete, one-pill, once-a-day treatment used for h-i-v in many people whether you're 18 or 80. with one small pill, biktarvy fights h-i-v to help you get to undetectable—and stay there whether you're just starting or replacing your current treatment. research shows that taking h-i-v treatment as prescribed and getting to and staying undetectable prevents transmitting h-i-v through sex. serious side effects can occur, including kidney problems and kidney failure. rare, life-threatening side effects include a buildup of lactic acid and liver problems. do not take biktarvy if you take dofetilide or rifampin.
11:48 am
tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines and supplements you take, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney or liver problems, including hepatitis. if you have hepatitis b do not stop taking biktarvy without talking to your healthcare provider. common side effects were diarrhea, nausea, and headache. no matter where life takes you, biktarvy can go with you. talk to your healthcare provider today. you see there is momentum behind the harris campaign. >> 100%. >> in a different way than there was with biden. >> 100%. she can fully articulate what she wants. she can go against him. she says she's the prosecutor

and he's the felon. it is the perfect case. >> at the end of the day he's going to stay the same person but i might see my wallet grow and save a little bit of money. in the long run, thinking the economy might be helped out with this president even though he does sometimes not show the best personal aspect. >> gen z voters speaking with nbc's savannah sellers about what is driving their boat as donald trump and kamala harris repaired a face-off of the first time in tuesday's debate. joining me now, cricket media vice presidential local strategy and political commentator and former republican, ashley pratt. good to see you both. shaniko, an nbc news stay tuned poll found half of the registered voters under 30 would vote for kamala harris while a third would vote for donald trump and i know that sounds pretty good but president biden had a bigger gen z lead in 2020. what does harris need to do on tuesday to win back more of the gen z vote? >> i think she's going to have to do what she's been doing.
11:50 am
she's really been listening to the policies that are important to people. she has come out with a housing policy, to make affordable housing and to have more housing in general and that is one of the biggest issues one people continue to bring up as something important to them. and when she's on the debate stage and as she continues to go throughout the country and these battleground states that the debate, have to keep driving home that she is really focus on housing. she's really focus on cost of living because those are the things that are important to young people and she does have some ground to make up in getting back to where biden was in 2020 but she's doing better than he was in 2024, which is really important. she's making the right strides and the right direction. >> ashley, that poll found voters under the age of 30 rank inflation, cost of living, among biggest worries. we go into the details of what

we are hearing from shaniqua. it is far ahead of abortion, democracy and health care. will harris or trump be more likely to answer the economic concerns on tuesday? >> i think harris knows she's not only has to define herself and her policies and how americans would be better off across all ages, all demographics, all political parties, if she were to be president. and i think that is where she has a big disadvantage, only because she's been in the race for a shorter amount of time. in the time she has been in the race, i think because trump hasn't been able to land any definition of her yet, she's been largely defined by the biden administration's so she really does need to show voters where she stands on the issues. when it comes to the economy, that is the one issue that does transcend political and party lines. and i think it is important that she talks about again, how she and her presidency would allow for americans to be better off. and i think shaniqua mentioned, cost of education, cost of housing and what she would do as president to address those issues.
11:52 am
and i think she has the policies and plans in place to be able to do that and it is just a matter of coming through trumps nonsense on that stage, to get the positions heard, which i think she will be able to successfully do on tuesday. >> let's take a listen to donald trump when he says women love him. let's take a listen to that. >> somebody said, women don't like donald trump. i said i think that's wrong. i think they love me. i love them. >> the washington post reports today, that is not what polls show ashley, could donald trump's latest comments on reproductive rights, on ivf for example, quibec well some concerns about his presidency or not? >> no, women bomb be fooled about what trump has said and that is why they are voting for harris this november and will continue. i think those numbers will go out. at this point i think trump can say whatever he's going to say but women won't fall for it and his policies don't live.
11:53 am
and j.d. vance' -- dances policies don't live. and it was not clear what donald trump was saying about childcare and j.d. vance has made it clear he believes women should stay at home and/or have grandparents help, which is not something that is realistic for many americans including myself. childcare is a huge cost for my own family and it is something we will be paying attention to when it comes to the debate stage tuesday night. again, there's one party that has addressed the issue and really try to help american families and that is the democrats, on the issue of child care. >> should harris lean into abortion-rights? what should the main focus be? >> i think people are pretty clear on where each of the candidates, at least where she stands. donald trump has gone back and forth but i think she should spend a little bit of time on it. point out his inconsistencies. point out his actions speak louder than his words. he said he would appoint

justices to overturn roe and that is what he did and that is what happened. but also point out the fact he's trying to have it both ways. is trying to guess light everyone into believing, not everyone, those of us who support abortion access, that he's never been one of the biggest advocates for overturning roe and even on ivf, he is saying he will have the government or insurance companies pay for ivf treatments, which are really expensive. but this has angered people on the far right. and you know, in response to that, he shifted back over and said he's going to -- he said in florida, his home state, they have a six-week abortion ban and he said that is too short and have the opportunity to vote for a ballot measure, that would do away with a six- week abortion ban, but he's not going to vote for it, which makes it really hard to believe he would not support a national abortion ban if it came over his desk. i think she should lean in it enough, two point those things out to people, but most voters know where each of them
11:55 am
truthfully stand on the issue. >> i'm going to ask about this question. ashley, you first. what do you think the wednesday morning headline will be? >> that is a good question. i think that it will be that harris has reached her goal of reaching those undecided voters by making sure that her policy positions have come through on the debate stage, because that should be the number one goal. making sure that even though it is a small part of the electorate is the most critical part of the electorate come november and that is what she needs to focus on. so i really hope that is what the headline is going to be, that she has made headway with undecided voters. >> we will listen and to your point they say donald trump gets 46, 37% no matter what say you make a good point about the small number and the electorate of undecided. but lastly, shaniqua, what are your thoughts about what will be leading the headlines on wednesday? >> i think a quick headline might be that mice present kamala harris shatters the ceiling that has been in her

way so far and donald trump fails to do the same. i think we will see him do what he always has done but it is going to be a lot worse. i said this last week, him being on stage with the vice president is going to get under his skin and he's going to go for insults that are pretty low hanging fruit, we have heard him say already and he's going to be the worst version of himself. i think that is what we will see on wednesday. >> we shall see. shaniqua and ashley, good to see you both. let's meet up next weekend again and go over what we have seen on tuesday. thank you. a missing person story, after days with an ending you would hope for her. that's next. that's next. good to go unscripted. good to go on a whim. with cabenuva, there's no pausing for daily hiv pills. for adults who are undetectable, cabenuva is the only complete, long-acting hiv treatment you can get every other month.
