mistake like this, i think, in afghanistan. first of all we accomplished our mission to degrade al qaeda. then we caught osama bin laden, but we kept going. and look what happened. we had an endless war with a very, very bad ending. and you look at afghanistan now, it is run by the taliban, women are in the stone age again, and it's all the progress and hope lost. i don't think he's learning our lessons, and i suggested to him that he has a really good opportunity here for the remainder of his term to build a peace structure around israel and create opportunity for palestinians, if they see opportunity, these proxy terrorist movements will decline . and that it seems to me is the long term vision for israel's security, and he will go down in history as a peacemaker for israel. >> let me get you on something

else on ukraine. i have seen reporting that north korea is sending troops or helping russia. what does that do to the dynamic in the calculus here? can the united states and nato and the western alliance avoid getting more directly involved in ukraine? >> well, doing nothing or letting russia win with help, enormous help from china, north korea, and iran, there is this alliance of grievant between the four countries, but letting russia win, russia will illegally invade the sovereignty of a country, when ukraine gave up nuclear weapons, but it will go on into europe and invade

week the state's largest newspaper, the st. louis post- dispatch made a significant move by endorsing kunce and praising his use and policies. it claims josh hawley is "possibly the worst sitting senator in america right now after his role in spring the insurrectionist's on january 6th. and now in a new ad kunce is taking a jab of his own at josh hawley. >> misleading, falls, lies, nothing but fake ads about me by josh hawley and his corporate donors. >> joining me now is democratic candidate for senate in missouri, lucas kunce. thank you very much for coming back to the saturday show. your reaction when you got the st. louis post dispatch endorsement? a very forceful, scathing endorsement against hawley , but a good substance

one in support of you. >> absolutely, we are seeing the dominoes fall here, you know, former u.s. senator the guy that made josh hawley, he said josh hawley was the worst mistake he made, and that he should no longer be a senator. we get endorsements, the numbers are getting so close, and it has got josh hawley so scared he won't believe what happened, but he actually came back to the state of missouri the other day to do a one-day, they call it their step aside, where they said isn't it a beautiful thing if women just step aside? the more he opens his mouth the close of this race gets, and we are super excited about taking it all the way to the 5th. >> what's interesting with hawley jetting around the state is he's doing it on a private jet which is the same thing he took then senator mccaskill for, took her to task

when he ran against her in 2018. >> yeah, there is really no end to the hypocrisy with this guy. he got so shamed by that he decided to do a two week bus tour across missouri which lasted three days. i guess three days felt like two weeks for him, then he abandoned his bus, illegally parked in a parking lot where they had to try to get it towed. the guy has no respect with missourians, and he's the worst member of congress. on the issue of our state on women's rights the guy said women shouldn't have access to no fault divorce is. i guess he's tired of people getting out of safe unsafe situations. when we show people who i am, 13 year marine veteran and repair that up with him we win

across the united states are leading protests against an unprecedented surge of book bans. around 200 libraries stores and publishers are participating in the first-ever freedom to read day. the campaign is organized by the american library association, which found that book bans which have become a major flash point on the right targeted a record 4200+ titles last year. joining me now, linda jones, president and ceo of the brookland library. president johnson, welcome. this is the first time you have organized this event. >> part of it is the fact we are leading up to this election when book bans have been

instituted at an unprecedented level. we wanted a whole session getting people registered to vote. we believe the majority of people in this country are not in favor of censorship, but there's a lot of awareness, and we wanted to empathize the issue. >> you are asking supporters to become "intellectual freedom voters." what does that look like at the ballot box? >> i think the important issue is that we are trying to get elected officials and legislators to understand their constituents care deeply about this issue and will vote on this issue. and so first step obviously getting people registered to vote, second step identifying people, and municipalities, there is a library at just about every municipality in the country where there are now bills being enacted that are banning books of a particular topic or category of topics.
