texas, but here's what i will say. are they making them by trump bibles? or is it a bible of your picking? what bible are we using for this curriculum? to me, it's insane that we talk about religious freedom, but apparently that only pertains if you are a christian in this country. because, again, we have a multitude of religions. so you're telling me that if somebody wanted to propose curriculum that was around the quran or the torah or what have you, that we would be offering that in texas? this is rife for a lawsuit, because there is no separation between church and state, they want to teach the golden rule but this is who they chose for their president-elect? miss me with it. >> you will be missed. let me play from you a sound bite from a seventh grader who weighed in on this. this is a private school student. watch and i will get your thoughts on the other side of it. >> do you want to protect the
5:43 pm
rights of a parent to choose what their student loans, vote against this proposal. if you want to protect the constitution of the united states, vote against this proposal. if you want the best of the students of texas, vote against this proposal. our public schools are not sunday schools. we should teach about religion, not teach religion. if you do pass these materials, at least tell us who wrote them. >> is good. >> he should have his own show. >> first of all, i am selling my own chiron's that i have signed, and ayman is doing the show. big hit, big seller. >> made in china, as well? >> look, if you're going to teach genesis, the old testament, are you also going to teach children what it says in the old testament, but if woman is not a virgin on her wedding night she is going to be stoned to death? are you going to teach kids that if on the sabbath you works you should be put to death? that's all in the old testament. genesis is one of the five books in the old testament. so that is right in there.
5:44 pm
let's be honest, what are you going to teach? you should not teach the bible at all, but you can teach beautiful things, like in matthew that you are hungry and you fed them, you are a stranger and you welcomed them in. but they are doing the opposite of the new testament. nothing beautiful, nothing love. they're using it to demonize and foster hate. this gop, it is games, it is showmanship, and nothing about jesus or the teachings of the bible. >> the ironic thing in all of this is that republicans, conservatives, they love to label schools as bastions of the far left and the woke ideology. they are banning books, always talking about how the liberal ideology is creeping into our school system. but they don't have a problem if it is a christian agenda or this kind, as dean was pointing out, selective parts of christianity that are being taught. >> exactly, and let me build
5:45 pm
off of dean. finally, the guy from texas with a funny cowboy hat gets to say something about my great state of texas. my career started working for ann richards way back when i was skinny and had hair. let me tell you, i'm one of these christians from texas. i went to the schools. i was in sunday school every sunday. born again, all the things. baptized. in the bible that i was taught when i was a little boy in east texas, deep east texas. i mean deep east texas. not a lot of mexicans when i was growing up. we taught people about love. and we taught people about the separation of church and state. we taught people about how you welcomed the most vulnerable amongst us. we talked about jesus. we talked about jesus being a poor carpenter. all the things that the gop would teach us we are supposed to hate. especially brown skinned immigrants, like my family was and many other immigrants. this week, i am sad to report, in my firm, you know i only largest latino owned firm in the country, both of my business partners are immigrants. one of the statuses expires in march. you know how scary that is for me and for them? now we have to figure out if she has to self-support, or what we do with a little girl
5:46 pm
who is been here since she was four years old and live in this country for 21 years. we sent her through school, now she is an equity partner in a firm and she may have to deport. it is just disgusting. >> disgusting and disgraceful, and compounded by the fact that as we said, the texas commission are now offering trump land, 1400 acres, to basically build a mass deportation facility on the border. and it just kind of makes you wonder what the priority of the state is. and certainly this commissioner, who, is, i suspect, angling for some kind of political future in maga world. >> you know, i think it was reported that when the election came through that the following day on trading that those who owned in the prison industrial complex, those stocks rose. when we look at and listen to this woman saying here, the largest facility, ask yourself who is making money off this. there are tons of people in trump world that are going to make hundreds of millions of dollars of cruelty and pain.
5:47 pm
that is what this is about. this is not about quote unquote violent criminals. this is a moneymaking grab and steal on the backs of the most vulnerable people. >> all right, let's go around with your picks. what is your west of the week? the commissioner and the land, or the bibles in the schools? >> i'm going with the blue bonnet. as a former teacher, i find this incredibly troubling, and it's going to be a trend that grows. >> chuck, i will go to you next. who is your worst of the week? >> it is the land and the detention centers. because u.s. citizens are going to end up in there. he should ever end up in there. that is going to be the story, is going to bite them in the backside. >> dean, you've got the deciding vote. >> i'm going with chuck on this one. i feel you, these camps, it does not end with migrants. it ends with political dissidents and others. history tells us to be aware of that. it is deeply concerning to do that. that is something physical. >> daniel moody, chuck rocha,
5:48 pm
dean, you did not stay here for the whole hour. dean was worried at the top of the show, i said dean is going to be with us for the whole hour. technically you are off the hook. you still have 13 minutes left. >> i'm not leaving. staying on the set. it's going to be awkward. >> thank you very much. we greatly appreciate it. next up, president biden's head scratching decision to authorize landmines and long- range missiles in ukraine. furniture and cookware, holiday decor, and more at wayfair's lowest prices of the year! plus, score 24-hour flash deals you have to see to believe! and get free shipping on everything! save up to 80% off wayfair's black friday savings spectacular! now through december 2nd! ♪ wayfair. every style. every home. ♪

with 57 days left until his presidency is officially over, joe biden is spending his final weeks in this lame duck period expanding the u.s.'s role in the war in ukraine, and that is now raising eyebrows. take, for example, his decision to approve the use of u.s. landmines on ukrainian battlefield. last year biden initially opposed the point landmines into ukraine, saying that on exploded minds will put more
5:53 pm
civilians at risk, and called their use unnecessary from a military perspective. and he wasn't wrong. in fact, the u.s. is still running up unexploded mines left over from wars in vietnam, cambodia, and kosovo decades later. long after wars and, experts have noted that landmines cost a heavy toll on civilians, especially children. in 2023 alone, nearly 6000 people around the world were either killed or injured by leftover minds, according to the landmine monitor. which means that years from now , long after the russia ukraine war is over, the countries will still be paying the price for the landmines being placed now. and it is likely that the u.s. will, at some point, have to be in bold in that the mining lien up effort. yes, biden policy reversal may give ukraine a slight military edge today, but the aftermath will be a deadly one for years to come. and, believe it or not, that is not even the only surprise
5:54 pm
biden delivered. he is now allowing ukraine to use u.s. long-range missiles to hit targets deep inside of russian territory. a move that was perceived by russia as escort tory. as soon as the u.s. approved the use of those long-range missiles, guess what ukraine did with them? it struck deep into russian territory for the very first time since this war started. ironically, these are things ukraine's president, volodymyr zelenskyy, wanted from joe biden for years. as russia continues to push into ukrainian territory, striking civilians and residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and so on. before this week, biden's reasoning for not making these concessions with these moves was that he did not want this war to escalate. a principled and found position. so, how is vladimir putin exactly responding to all of this? as one would expect, literally hours after biden's shift on the long-range missiles, putin updated russia's nuclear doctrine to allow strikes against nonnuclear countries
5:55 pm
like ukraine if they are backed by nuclear powers like the u.s. after that, putin claimed that russia fired a new kind of missile but is in cape being intercepted. and now he is ordering the mass production of these missiles. instead of de-escalation, as biden had previously thought, a growing list of russian and ukrainian officials are now saying world war iii is already here. and as peace in the nation, argues that mindless escalation on biden's part comes in a strange time. the war in ukraine is going badly for ukraine, and there is more pushback against conscription now rather than before. according to polls, after two years of fighting, ukrainians are increasingly weary of this war with russia. he also added that negotiations would be welcomed by the public now, but the best time for ukraine to do that was back in the spring of 2022. the russian army was suffering from heavy losses, in ukraine
5:56 pm
has secured the best deal possible back then. so, why did president biden reverses policies now, with just weeks left in his presidency, instead of years ago? what is the strategy here, as trump repairs to inherit this war? and does all of this help ukraine and long-term? these are the questions that many who have been following this war are now asking joe biden as he leaves office. thank you for making time for us tonight. come back tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. eastern on msnbc, i will be talking to jody ginsburg, ceo of the committee to protect journalists, as donald trump strong arms republicans into killing a bill that would have defended the freedom of the press. and starting saturday, december 7th, you can listen to every episode of ayman as a podcast for free. scan the qr code on your screen to follow now and listen to the trailer before our premier.
