romney is definitely headed for a win in florida? >> romney appears to be if safe bet. we had polls show a margin of five points to one of 20 points. they all seem to differ on what the margin will be, but they say it looks like romney will be the winner tomorrow. >> early voting has started. already 600,000 people casting their ballots. what does this tell you about the election this time around? >> well, the republicans are saying that it shows a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from their base to vote now and more importantly in november. voters in florida are very pragmatic. they will be looking for who they think can defeat president obama in the general election. >> herman cane has endorsed newt gingrich. even sarah palin came out.

>> annoy a liberal, vote newt. keep this process going. keep the debate going. >> does any of this help gingrich? is there anything that can at this point? >> well, the thing is, the election in florida starts so early. people have been voting by mail and voting early for weeks now that romney had an advantage even before gingrich won in south carolina. there's so many absentee ballots that had been sent in. he had been sending campaign flyers and up on television way before gingrich. gingrich has been very active on spanish language radio and trying to reach the hispanic voters here in miami-dade county, but it might be too little, too late. >> we do appreciate your time, patricia. one day to go until the primaries. romney and gingrich have been targeting the hispanic community hard.

2:09 pm
ronnie turned it over to newt and the republican members of congress to keep that dream alive. >> all right. hearing that full quote, does newt have the righting to say president reagan passed the torch to him? >> i think he does. i think a lot of the reaganites have said there was a lot of strife that was taking place and it wasn't as if newt gingrich's priorities also lined up 100% with the priorities of ronald reagan as the president. why are they fighting so much over the reagan mantle? the answer can be found in the composition thoefz republican voters who are calling the shots in primary season. they tend to be very conservative. mitt romney was a registered independent at the time reagan was in office.
