course after the out outrage on the first day. >> i think they were stunned by the level of outrage. the ceo of planned parenthood gives credit to social media and to all the women, including people who had been to planned parenthood in the past who went on websites and twitter and you tube and spoke out for reversing this decision. within the last hour, the ceo of komen has a conference call wl affiliates around the country. some affiliates had publicly spoken out against the policy. we spoke to one of affiliate directors, and she said she views the statement put out today as a complete reversal. if you read the fine point, there does seem to be a little wiggle room, but the people on that call were left with the impression that the situation of planned parenthood would go back to where it was before the new
2:04 pm
rules were instituted at the end of the year. >> you mentioned a bit of wiggle room. i know this conference call took place around 1:00 p.m. eastern time were they were explaining where they stand. what is the possible wiggle room. might we see this battle brew up again? >> i think it's unlikely we'll see this battle brew up again. i can't imagine that komen would want to revisit this issue on any level. the wiggle room is that one of justifications that komen had given for taken this money away from planned parenthood is much of the money was pass through money. money that went to planned parenthood that they provided to other providers for giving the actual care and komen argued we can't measure outcomes that effectively. there's nothing in the statement today about that argument but, again, it's hard to believe that komen would take the risk of not just completely resuming its

full partnership with planned parenthood. >> thank you very much. the "news nation" is following another story. growing concerns israel will attack iran over its nuclear program. l leon panetta sidestepped by responding that all u.s. options are on the table. according to u.s. officials panetta believes there's a strong possibility israel will attack iran in the coming months possibly as early as april. also iran supreme leader rathched up tensions. he warned iran would not yield to to international pressure. washington post columnist david

joins us. we know the secretary did not deny the report. the information in your report. give me a little more insight into the debate between a strike and whether or not sanctions and a unified front against the u.s. why isn't that seen as an option that could work the sanctions? >> well, i think the u.s. is arguing strongly to israel that the program of internationally economic sanctions is having an effect that is really squeezing iran and that the military strike option is not wise. it's not in the interest of the united states or in our judgment, israels. what i reported in my column is that according to u.s. officials secretary panetta and others have believed that despite these american warnings, there's a strong likelihood that israel
2:07 pm
will decide to attack. the time frame is over the next several month, april, may, june is what i said in my column. this is cause for real concern. i should stress, according to my sources, no decision has been made yet by israeli prime minister to take military action. there is a feeling that he will decide to do it. >> david, in your column you point out that he does not want to leave the fate of israel dependent on american action. many intrigued by the line that israel does not want to be dependent on american action. >> yes. let me try to explain this. the u.s. trigger for action, the u.s. red line, if you will, is evidence that iran is
2:08 pm
constructing a nuclear we. weapon. we have no evidence they have crossed that line. they say if you wait that long, it's too late. their argument is iran enters what they call a zone of immunity when it will be impossible to strike, and take away the elements that you would use to make the bomb. that's why they say a different timetable from the u.s. they have a different red line or a different threshold for action. the u.s. military capabilities are so much greater than those of israel, that it would be possible for the u.s. to wait longer because it has more fire power once it decides to act. israeli fire power is limited. >> thank you, david, for your time. joining me now bob windrum. what happens if it does take

2:10 pm
otherwise, this all has to come into play with whatever decision the united states follows, i would imagine. >> one thing that some diplomats in the middle east fear is this will take place at a time when optimum time politically, we are in the middle of an election campaign and at that point the politicians will go forward and try to vie among themselves for who can be most supportive of israel and that could affect a decision on the u.s. military action. >> all right. bob, thank you very much. new job numbers out today. unemployment is at the lowest level in three years. the nation's unemployment rate fell from 8.5 to 8.3%. the labor department reports a much larger than expected, 243,000 jobs were added. speaking in arlington, virginia, president obama cautioned the unemployment numbers could still go up and down. he also sent a warning to
