and we begin this morning with back in jail. the former neighborhood watch volunteer charged with the murder of unarmed teen trayvon martin turned himself in to florida police yesterday. george zimmerman's bond was revoked friday after a judge said he failed to disclose about $135,000 raised through a website set up for his legal fund. and nbc's jay gray joins us live from sanford, florida, with all the details. jay, good morning. >> good morning to you, lynn. yeah, sheriff's deputies here describe george zimmerman as, quote, quiet and cooperative on his first night back here in central florida and back behind bars. for the first time in six weeks, george zimmerman will wake up in the seminole county jail this morning, the 28-year-old accused of second degree murder in the death of trayvon martin turned himself in on sunday, two days after judge kenneth lester revoked his bond. >> i find that good cause exists based upon the material misrepresentations that the

court relied upon. >> reporter: prosecutors have accused zimmerman and his wife of hiding information during his initial bond hearing about money raised for his defense through a website. >> i don't know what other words to use other than it was a blatant lie. >> reporter: zimmerman's attorney says the omission was a mistake, not a lie. >> if deception was their intent, why did they disclose it to me the first day that it was discussed and why did he follow all of the money i asked him to follow. >> reporter: mistake or lie, the martin's family attorney says it strikes to the core of zimmerman's claim that he acted in self-defense the night the florida teenager was killed. >> the credibility is the issue, and we think it is the most important ruling so far in this entire case. >> certainly as mr. crump said, there's a credibility question that now needs to be sort of rehabilitated by explaining away what they were thinking when they did what they did, if that's what happened. >> reporter: an explanation the defense hopes to offer judge lester in the next few days here.

now judge lester has said that he will give george zimmerman a new hearing to allow him to explain himself. his attorneys hope that happens sometime this week. live in sanford, florida, i'm jay gray. lynn, back to you. >> all right, jay, thanks so much. over seas this morning, a horrific scene is playing out in nigeria's largest city after a jetliner slammed into a busy neighborhood sunday killing everyone on board. in the second air disaster in that country in as many days. moments before the crash, which also killed an unknown number of people on the ground, a military official says a pilot reported engine trouble. nbc's rohit kachroo reports. >> reporter: moments from touchdown, the aircraft crashed into a residential area. the weather was good when the plane appeared to land onto a two-story building in the suburb of lagos, striking a store an apartments. >> translator: my children were outside playing ball. we asked them to look up because the plane was about to land on top of my head. and the minute it passed, it bent. it was going down.

>> reporter: it was late afternoon. many people were in their homes when the passenger jet fell from the sky. thousands poured outside, trying to find survivors in the burnt wreckage. >> the tail's fin was clearly sticking up. you could still see the painting from the dana airline company on the part of the side of the wreckage, but then from there up basically the cabin of the plane had been destroyed and reduced to rubble. >> reporter: government officials say all passengers and crew, around 150 people are feared dead with more likely casualties on the ground. nigeria has a poor air safety record. investigators are already trying to find out what caused a cargo plane from lagos to crash in nearby ghana killing ten people. now a new investigation into another major air disaster. the cause is yet unknown. >> that was nbc's rohit kachroo reporting. we shift gears to a much lighter note. london's biggest party of the

>> you're like, i can't even believe i'm awake by now, yes. a week does do a number on you. >> it was times ten. i'm just tiesing. >> always helps. >> it's nice to be back in the routine. good morning, everyone. hope you had a wonderful weekend. out there this morning, two or three trouble spots, definitely from oklahoma, into areas of tennessee is the worst of it. tulsa, oklahoma, flash flooding reported last night. some water was getting in homes, so they're doing a little bit of recovery there. another batch of storms that just moved down on top of you from the north. so tulsa, all the way down to fort smith, arkansas. severe thunderstorm warnings for you. interstate 40 is not a fun ride this morning anywhere heading from little rock all the way in to oklahoma is going to be the worst of it. now the other trouble spot, we have a lot of rain over the weekend. and even some flooding concerns. especially in the mountainous areas of western maine. we're still getting a lot of rain coming in off the ocean here. it's not a pretty day in northern new england. temperatures are going to be in the 50s, with on and off light rain. and this will continue through

much of the day, from vermont to new hampshire to maine is the worst of it. even southern new england, down towards new york city, it's going to be a very cool monday out there. definitely want to wear a light jacket or sweater. don't expect the warm temperatures that we've seen lately. so here's how you set up for the day today. the cool air all through new england, and that's going to spark a lot of afternoon showers and clouds. we have the thunderstorms this morning that are in oklahoma and arkansas later today. those will head up towards st. louis through tennessee. areas watch out around south carolina, including atlanta. and then the hot weather today, about 96 for your high in dallas. and the west coast, if you're joining us, you're going to be very windy, unusually strong storm coming on to the coast. we've been talking over the last week if you've been watching the news about the big fires in areas of new mexico and this windy weather spreading into arizona and nevada and utah will not help the firefighting efforts for any blazes there. so your forecast for your monday, 64, that's in new york city. much cooler weather for you. d.c. a chance of an afternoon

welcome back to "first look" i'm lynn berry. and here are some of the top stories making news this morning. syria's president bashar al assad told syria's parliament his government was not involved in the massacre of more than a hundred people last week. he said that not even, quote, monsters, would carry out such a crime. in egypt the top prosecutor plans to appeal the life prison

sentence given to former president hosni mubarak. massive crowds in tahrir square are demanding he get the death penalty for protester deaths in the uprising that forced him from power last year. today in northwest pakistan a u.s. drone fired rockets that killed 15 people in the tribal region near the afghan border. it was the third attack in three days and all tolled, 27 people have died. the largest wildfire in new mexico's recorded history is now about 17% contained. so far, 377 square miles of the national forest have been burned. and firefighters have no estimate when it will be fully contained. the space shuttle "enterprise" made its final trip on the barge in the new york harbor past the statue of liberty and downtown skyline. today it will be lifted up to its permanent home, the flight deck of the "uss intrepid" sea, air and space museum. and a new miss usa has been crowned in las vegas.

rhode island, olivia culpo answered a question about transgender contestants saying it would be fair for a man who became a woman to be named miss universe. now is your first look at how wall street is going to kick off the day. the dow opened at 12,118 after nosediving 274 points on friday. the s&p shot down 32. the nasdaq plunged 79. taking a look at overseas trading this morning, in tokyo the nikkei sang 144 points. while in hong kong the hang seng fell a whopping 372. the first full week of june is already off to a rough start. overseas this morning, the broader tokyo market fell to a 28-year low as investors worry about a trifecta of economic fears, a potential eurozone break-up, a u.s. economic relapse, and a sharp slowdown in china. on friday news the economic economy added only 69,000 jobs in may wiped out all the dow's

gains for the year. that dismal jobs report pushed oil to fresh eight-month lows near $82 a barrel this morning. looking ahead fed chair ben bernanke delivers his economic outlook to congress on thursday. friday's sell-off has sparked some talk about whether the fed could signal further stimulus later this month. also this week investors will gauge the strength of the economy from fresh factory data and the fed's beige book report. "the new york times" reports bank of america shareholders have filed a lawsuit alleging the bank's executives knew about mounting mortgage losses at merrill lynch, but failed to inform them before they approved the $50 million purchase back in 2008. "the wall street journal" reports facebook is working on technology that would allow children younger than 13 to use the social networking site with parental supervision. all the latest video game gadgets will be on display this week at this year's electronics entertainment expo. in l.a. and it is that time of year again.

welcome back to "first look," i'm lynn berry. in sports last night the nba's eastern finals the celtics hung on after blowing a huge lead to tie their series with the miami heat. here's nbc's mario solis. hi, there. good morning. lebron james fouled out for the first time in four years. dwyane wade missed game-winning shot and the celtics have evened up the series with an overtime win in boston. game four of the eastern conference finals, celtics wanted this one from the start. rajon rondo threads the needle to paul pierce. rondo with 15 points and 15 dimes. sets up 14 at the break. heat make it the game in the second half. lebron james calls his own number, throws it down. miami starting to claw their way back into it. then in the fourth it's lebron again. this time he ties the game with under a minute left. he had 29. off to overtime, moments after paul pierce fouled out, tangled

up with pie stchlt rus. lebron fouled out. first time ever in a playoff game. final seconds, heat down two. no lebron so everybody on the planet knows wade is going to get the open look. can't knock down the three at the buzzer. celtics hold serve and even the series with a 93-95 win in overtime. nascar now, jimmie johnson took the checkered flag at dover. it's his record-tying seventh win at the monster mile. let's go to golf. tiger began with four shots off the lead, but came roaring back. just getting warmed up. on 16 with his ball buried in the rough jack nicklaus is calling this the most unbelievable gutsy shot he's ever seen. if he leaves it short, it's a difficult downhill putt. if he pushes it long, it's in the water. so tiger does this, right in the cup. there's a first pump. we haven't seen that out of tiger in awhile. takes the lead with an amazing shot. then on 18 caps off his fifth memorial championship with another birdie.

"men in black 3" took in a sizable $28 million. but speaking of sizable, yep, thaert, "the avengers" still took in just under $20 million for third. but more importantly a $1.3
