be serious consequences for killing children, for targeting hospitals, for targeting schools, for targeting un run, facilities which were intended to give refuge uh to those fleeing uh war and and these these types of attacks, so when will we see uh any form of accountability, if there will be any, of course, on the first point, i grew up in northern ireland and there were killings on both sides and we've seen that here as well. and those who have killed and murdered, especially when you think about the number of children and innocent people involved on both sides, they must be held accountable, and that is an accountability that will should affect everybody from hammas to the israeli defense forces and the politicians have sponsored some of those decisions. on the second point, uh, even this morning i was watching uh the state sponsored media outlet in the united kingdom bbc, and they gave a long opportunity for... an israeli
12:01 pm
spokesperson to claim that they had not perpetrated the attack on the hospitals, so we can't really expect uh balance from the media. what should happen is an independent analysis of who's done what, and more over an analysis of who could do what to descalate the situation. the word revenge is being used again and again and again, and once again in yesterday's press conference with the palestinian ambassador, he was pointing out: and i asked him a question about this, he was pointing out that if you measure this dispute as being a fortnite old, then people tend to blame hamas, but if you look at this as a 75 year old issue, it's far more nuanced than people are making out, and back to your first question in this interview, uh, why are the people around the world responding? because perhaps for the first time they're beginning to hear the problems facing the palestinians, and that doesn't mean you justify murder of innocent people. but it does mean that
12:02 pm
there's a case to answer and it will only be answered by negotiation, not through the wholesale destruction of gaza by israel, and of course addressing the root cause of all of this, which is the israeli occupation uh in the first place, yes, and even that's complicated, you go back to something called the balfer declaration, which is a century old, you can go back to the 1940s when primarily the united kingdom and america displaced a large number of people to create israel with well meaning intentions, but in so doing, they set in place the seats of dispute which has happened ever since, and then after that we have had the fairly aggressive land grabbing by israel, we were so close to two-state solution, maybe decade ago, but all of that was thrown away in an unforgivable act of neglect by western powers, so actually we have, we know, we all know that... has to be two-state solution,
12:03 pm
and until that happens, then israel will simply be perpetuating problems which were fundamentally created by the west in the first place. live images that we're getting from more rallies taking place across cities in tunisia. these rallies are being held worldwide in condemnation of the recent israeli attack a hospital in central gaza city.
12:04 pm
rally's taking place in various cities uh across the world, we've been focusing on some of the demonstrations taking place in tunisia, there you can see the tunisian flag and the palestinian flag being held side by side as demonstrators are uh denouncing the israeli massacre of uh hospital in central gaza which took place yesterday leaving hundreds of palestinians dead uh former

member of british parliament lemped opec joins us now uh from the british capital london mr. opec we keep coming back to the issue of the uh the international uh strations that are taking place in cities, they keep popping up as we speak, and the increased level of global awareness with regards to the palestinian cause, which you just alluded to a little earlier, would you say that the uh, the israelis, the israeli regime uh is uh is at its most cornered, most isolated right now that it has been in recent memory. yes, there's no doubt at all that the israeli regime has now got a which it hasn't had for decades, but it's worse this time, when israel has conducted major military initiatives in the past, and i don't need to list those, there's been international concern and condemnation, but it's been managed by the politicians more than the
12:06 pm
general public. what's different this time is that the politicians in the west have lost control of the media management here, as has israel, and despite the fact that all of this began with incursion by hamas, which was costly in terms of lives, somehow the pendulum has swung back because perhaps of the overreaction by israel, and they've managed to turn global sympathy into global disgust and rage, and the public are not being organized in some clever way by pro-palestinian bodies, though obviously there are those bodies, the public are stepping up because they've had enough, because they'... now understand that israel is essentially seeking to flatten gaza, that's what it looks like, whether that's right or wrong, the attack on the hospital, which i've taken soundings, no one really believes was a missed fire gun, missile by by palestine, has made it even worse, and so now
12:07 pm
the politicians are going to be watching the public and probably having to nuance what they say more in favor of the palestinian situation, and that's a tremendous. go for israel right, also uh what the iranian president has said in the past that uh uh what's taking place right now specifically the recent uh attacks uh on which took place on uh on the hospital uh it has to have happened with the green light from the united states. would you agree with that? i i'm not sure that the united states would explicitly. have approved the attacks, but i am quite certain that the united states will have known of israel's intentions. why do i feel so so? there is no way joe biden would have gone to israel if he had been caught completely unprepared for israel's actions
12:08 pm
and even in the extremely unlikely event that he was not kept informed, he will be now. the fact that joe biden has gone to... see benjamin netanyahu is absolute commitment by america to share the responsibility of what's happening to one of its biggest by what's being done by one of its biggest allies so in a sense whatever the excuses the united states may have put forward before those excuses are all gone and if israel continues its campaign now and america does not publicly stand against it then the united states has to hold that responsibility too as any other world leader that goes and stands next to netanyahu. mr. opic, when we go back to what took place uh on uh october 7th that saturday when the gaza-based uh resistance groups, they carried out the operation alasa
12:09 pm
storm. what do you think about the enhanced capabilities of the the palestinian resistance uh front. and resistance factions when they managed to to carry out that large-scale uh operation, how improved have have the capabilities come to be right now, and should the israelis now feel less and less secure? yes, i have to predicate what i say with this point, i i'm not in favor of the deaths of any civilians in any situation, and hamas, as we said before, has to be held accountable for the death. it has created in the injury and the suffering, although there's plenty of propaganda about the level of death, we do know that civilians have been killed, and and that's a very important point to recognize. that's said, and leaving aside the morality of the situation, israel, either
12:10 pm
by accident or design, has been exposed as weak as not being the impenetrable, iron dome country that it has persistently sought to present itself as, not least to the settlers in the occupied areas, so the answer to your question is simple, if you're living in the occupied territories, you have a right to be very uncomfortable now about the capabilities. of your country and the israeli defense force to defend you, this is probably one of to interrupt you there, uh, we're gonna get as we get live images from these demonstrations, we're going to explain what's taking place to our viewers, and we'll get back to you in just moment, more demonstrations are taking place right now uh in tunisia, this is the third city that we've shown, pro-palestinian demonstrations taking place, you can see how invested these demonstrators are in uh the uh in the rallies, holding up the palestinian flag just early we saw uh the tunesian flag and the palestinian flag being uh flown side by side
12:11 pm
all in condemnation of the israeli massacre that took place on uh uh the hospital uh in central gaza yesterday back to you mr. opec please pick up where you left off. yes, uh, well, what you've just shown there is absolute proof that there is a public response, not a party political response, not a governmental response, but a public response going on all around the world, and even though in some places and perhaps ironically, security forces have been used to prevent that pro-palestinian demonstrations, they carry on from london to australia. across the globe, the public is saying, we don't accept the legitimacy of israel's response to what happened. i think there are
12:12 pm
only two things that israel can do, the weak thing to do is to say, well this is anti-semitism, hamas began this problem, it's not our fault, and we're simply defending ourselves, that's weak because the public doesn't really feel that, the public feels that whatever hamas did, the israeli response is disproportionate, so they've squandered the moral advantage there. which they could have played much more intelligently. the second problem they've now got relates to what we've just been discussing. western politicians care a lot about something called optics, how things look? biden is clearly there because it's an election year and he wants to look like powerful american president, but even while he was in the sky going to israel, the situation changed dramatically because of the attack on the hospital. politicians in the west now have to ask this question, how far are they willing to go against public opinion and in favor of israel, and i suspect the answer is not very
12:13 pm
far at all. right, lemped, opec joining us from the british capital, london, thank you for contributing to the segment uh of the program, so we're getting live images from across the world, as pro-palestinian rallies are taking place, most recently in condemnation of the massacre that took place on uh the hospital in central gaza where hundreds uh have been killed, according to our correspondents and reporters uh 700 have been killed as a result of that attack and many more remain under the rubble, i believe we're going to take a quick break, but we'll be back uh with our rolling coverage of the war on gaza.

gatherings and protests showing solidarity with palestine and especially gaza are taking place a daily basis in the lebanese capital bayrut. lebanese and palestinian factions have all stress that the operation al-axa flood is a prelude to a drastic change in the region. the operation of the resistance represented the... transformation, and i believe the impacts of this significant battle will go beyond the palestinian cause itself. the focal point of the entire conflict is palestine, and everything that you witnessed, whether the drawing of new maps or the... the attempts to integrate design regime in the region at the expense of the rights of the palestinians was all invain after this battle. therefore, the palestinian resistance and the resistance alliance have a duty to enforce their equations on israel and the us, and this will have an impact on the region as a whole. albanese factions have also voiced their support for the resistance, but also say now is the time for action, the

battlefield will draw the road map of the future. we are nearing a... which will change history. gaza is a stead fast and it will endure. therefore, i support what my brothers have suggested that we have operation rooms on various levels, whether political, financial, and social, and in the media, since the time now is for action, not is speaches. one of the protests was held in front of the french embassy where the protesters denounced france's support for israel. over 500,000 palestinian refugees in lebanon have continuously demanded their internationally recognized right to. return to their homeland, palestine. we are palestinian refugees here for 75 years and we are calling for our right to go back to our land. we are calling out these hypocrites and these governments so showing full support to our resistance against their colonial project in our land. and you can see our people are right here, we're not going to give up, we're

not going to surrender, whatever they do. the people of gaza have been under a choking bloccade and they've been... tortured for years and the world was silent. now they blame them for being angry and for fighting. where was the world when they were being killed? where are their rights? it is our right to retrieve our land, and the only way to do that is through struggle. in all past israeli wars, lebanon has been always part of the conflict, continuous israeli shelling has hit targets in south lebanon and has led to the killing of two civilians and one journalists in addition to several lebanese and palestinian resistance fighters. the lebanese resistance has begun daily retaliatory operations against specific targets all along the lebanese southern border. lebanes officials have said they hold israel responsible for the escalation, especially after israel directly targeted journalists in south lebanon. many here fear that failing to end israel's crimes in palestine could ignite the entire region and

over the constant bombardment of gaza. narvine adwan says she fled gaza 20 years ago, but now her heart is there with her people. people are not allowed to travel, i'm not allowed to find food, there's no food, there's no water, there's no medicine. and the people who seeked mixican to medicine and uh cure in the hospital they get they got killed. demonstrators gathered here focused on reports that an israeli air strike on tuesday killed hundreds of people a hospital. the death toll, the highest of any single incident in gaza in recent days, triggering protests there and around the world. protests like these have been happening across the country both day and night. most people outraged over the climbing death toll, not to mention the growing humanitarian crisis affecting the most vulnerable. many hangered by united states alignment with israel and its president joe biden, calling him

complicit. he can go to hell to be honest with you, like he he the americans have never been on the side of palestinians and they never will be, and he's just uh, just aiding israel, he's just empowering israel to move on and to continue their their war efforts. others say legacy media are also to blame. the main media is directly culpable and directly responsible for these deaths, they have done everything from platform uh israeli officials spew their pure hatred unchecked, these demonstrators are demanding seasfire in gaza, they say they hope for the best, but expect the worst. it's ourland, where else to go. hollen campel, press tv, washington. تحت الرادم واش نشره حللها ما تعرف غير المحبه بزوين هلها ويا ربي من عالي السماء نزلنا حلها

by the israeli forces. we feel that the united nations should play its role and the americans also should realize that war crimes are being committed over there and the innocent peoples are being killed over there, even the hospitals are not spared over there. the participants in the conference demanded that legal proceedings be launched against israel in the international court of justice for its brutal crimes against humanity in the gaza. i believe that the rule of international law requires that all these people should be brought to justice as war criminals, this is a blatant violation of international law and it is a clear commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity and i believe that israel should be dealt with the same standards of law as israel and its supporters united states of america expects others to behave like the speakers at the conference urged the islamic

world to f iran which is raising its voice with full courage for an end to the ongoing israels atrocities against palestinians. let me comment and appreciate iran for its very clear and strong and bold position on the ongoing war between palestine and israel. iran's stance is the stance which needs to be followed by other muslim countries. especially the arab world, if they want to have an independent palestinian state. the conference concluded with a resolution, urging the international community to take concrete steps to support palestinian cause and hold israel accountable for its actions. the national conference on palestine saw a unified voice from participants with different backgrounds, all advocated for the
