have been deprived of their homeland of our homeland for sev, we would like to respectfully remind our president that is crucial allowing these displayed palestinians to the return to their towns of origin, we must reject israel's experience. of 1 million palestinian prohibiting any medical supplies to enter the area preparation for palestine, from the river to the sea, to show solidarity with our palestinian people and their ongoing struggle for just when people are colonized, people are colonized, resistance is justified. has an end to all normalization,

ladies and gentlemen, our coverage of the war on gaza continues here on press tv, as more palestinians are falling victim to israel's attacks. on the ghaza strip as the regime presses ahead with its steady onslot against uh the besieg territory, dozens of people have been killed after israeli war planes pounded more palestinian houses across the ghaza strip, this of course comes uh just two days after the uh israelis uh targeted the al-ahli hospital in central gaza killing at least 500 people scores remain under the rubble. these are live images that we're
10:06 am
getting from khannes in uh the south of the gaza strip so as as a result of the regime's raids on the territory over the past uh 13 days or so the death toll has risen uh to well beyond 3500 at least 13,00 others have been wounded of those 3,500 palestinians killed reports are indicating that at least 1,000 uh are innocent children uh the uh what took place with regards uh to the uh the gaza hospital was that uh it's the highest single day death toll in the territory since israel launched its war on october the seventh the hospital is packed with people who fled from northern gaz after israel forced them to leave their homes. ashraf shanan is joining us now from hannuness with all the latest updates on what's taking place in gaza right now ashraf what do you have to share with?
10:07 am
and our viewers, well uh, as you were talking about the of deaths, the number, the real of number is much, much higher, my... own estimate personally it's 500 because a thous people are missing and just last night where i'm standing uh around 100 people and other areas that we know of for sure between 80 to 100 - have all right i believe we're experiencing some technical difficulties with the the connection there, hopefully we'll hear from our corresponent's joining us uh from khans and southern gaza, ash are you with us again? yes, i'm with you, all right, please continue, we lost you there for a minute, so as i was. the number of of
10:08 am
fatalities is much higher than that that was released by the palestinian ministry of health in gaza for the fact that according to the civil defense authorities in the gaza at least a thousand people are missing so that makes 4500 and uh since uh last night just this hospital naster hospital in gaza and uh a second, i'm showing you the body of one of of of the the marters right now as they taking it uh for barrial right now, this is one of the one of the people who were killed that, we're not talking about numbers, we're
10:09 am
talking about the lives of real people, real human beings, who once who yesterday or earlier this morning was lot and breathing who had family, had children, had a job, who had house, and that person is no longer with us, and this is because of the atrocities committed by the israeli regime with the support of the united states and other uh western countries. uh, let me add something here regarding the the deaths in the gaza strip within the hospitals in gaza. a lot of those who die because uh hospital equipment is not working because of of of the absence of electricity so they cannot properly diagnose the uh the victims basically what gaza hospitals are right now okay that was
10:10 am
our corresponent we're experiencing some difficulties with the connection hopefully we'll figure that out and uh we'll get back to ashraf once again, we're now bringing in international lawyer barry grossman's joining us from bally indonesia, mr. grossem, welcome to the program, uh, i want to get your perspective on uh what took place on tuesday, uh, the israeli attack uh on the alahli hospital in gaza, this is uh in contravention of international law and all shapes and forms, please share with us your thoughts. well look, there's not any room for anyone to entertain any doubt about this, to the extent is established that the attack was done by by the occupation by israel, it's clearly a war crime, it's not unprecedented for them to do this, in fact since this round of violence
10:11 am
erupted, they've been targeting convoys of ambulances, have hit other hospitals and have done so in the past. uh, and when this first happened, of course there was a measure of international condemnation, even from nations like canada, that usually provide unqualified support for israel, however, it only took a matter of moments, before joe biden, the other day, meeting with benjamin, yahoo! and his advisors, form the opinion that while there would be invest. and it was quite clear to him, he claimed, that this is something that was done by the other team, he said, as though this is some kind of football game, yet, i for one can't ever think of a situation where palestinian rockets have carried a payload that would be capable of
10:12 am
reaking that kind of damage, and there's a long set of precedents of israel launching attacks just like this on on protected. target, so the presumption has to be that this was done by the occupation, they've certainly been attacking civilian targets and other protected targets. from the beginning, including schools, um, convoys of civilians trying to move south as commanded by the occupation, convoys of ambulances and other hospitals, so there's really no reason to assume that anyone other than the occupation did this, and if it's gonna be suggested, otherwise the burden of proof surely has to rest with uh the occupation, having said that, "this is clearly - a war crime, as is everything they've done up to now, there's
10:13 am
this great sort of gap in what, atlantic world countries are saying, for example, joe biden has now repeatedly observed that um hamus does not represent all palestinians or even a majority of palestinians, in fact represents according to him, only a small percentage of palestinians, but then in the same breath voiced his qualified support for the ground offensive and air attacks being launched by israel on gaza as a whole, so on the one hand, he says, most people in gaza aren't connected with hamas and that israel has a right to protect itself from attacks from hamas, a questionable proposition at best, um, but then he turns around and throws as unqualified support as do other atlantic. leaders behind this plan to deprive ordinary civilians in gaza water, food, medicine, and
10:14 am
the essentials of life while bombarding them with the ultramodern weapons and bombs, something which is clearly a war crime and part of a larger crime against humanity that takes the form of long-running ethnic cleansing. it's high time the appropriate international authorities took note of this, and while israel means it's not subject to the jurisdiction of the icc, the icc has issued a judgment saying quite the opposite, and even if one were to accept that position, it doesn't mean that the same laws that the iccc would be relying on, like the geneva conventions, for example, are not embraced by the united nations as a whole and therefore, that they don't carry with them an obligation on the part of the occupation to respect. those laws and we've seen in the past that the the united nations has intervened and
10:15 am
established ad-hock tribunals even to target countries that aren't signatiries to the to the to the rome statutes, for example in rwanda and the former yugoslavia, and in fact my former mentor was the chief war crimes prosecutor in both of those um um tribunals. um, and the un saw fit to establish ad-hock tribunals to adjudicate the rights and the wrongs of those conflicts and it's high time that the united nations took a similar course of action to the occupation of palestine, because certainly people around the world aren't confused about this for the most part, there are also individual legislators who are in no way confused, some very critical. the official establishment position and as it stands, palestinians have no choice but to
10:16 am
exercise their recognized right to engage in armed resistance, because every other option has been shut down to them, instead of searching for solution and trying to descalate, what we see is atlantic world countries, primarily the united states, but certainly the united kingdom and their various proxies, supporting the... escalation of this violence and expressing their full commitment to this clear plan to commit further war crimes against the palestinian people by attacking civilian targets, subjecting them to to punishment as a whole collective punishment itself, a war crime, and depriving them of all the essentials of life, something approaching a crime against humanity, right? all as part of this ongoing thing that's been happening for decades now ethnically cleanse all of palestine of all
10:17 am
palestinians. mr. grossman the iranian uh foreign minister uh he highlighted the necessity of joint efforts by muslim countries uh in opposing the israel crimes and genocide uh against palestinians in the besieg gaza strip how would you rate the overall response by arab governments uh with with regards to the... two, okay, and making things worse and number of them have recently, including the emirates, egypt, i believe morocco, as well, have signed treaties, normalizing relations, but which in fact import a firm commitment to share intelligence and prioritize israeli perceptions of their security requirements ahead of each country's own, security
10:18 am
interest, and to uh be committed to treat. hamas is the terrorist organization, all of which is political goble group, the united nations has in the past passed resolutions which without qualification make it clear that palestinians including hamas are entitled to engage in armed resistance and to resist using any and all available means how it can be said therefore when they're denied every other possibility to seek redress, how they can be described as terrorists for exercising their right to do that, which when it was done by resistance groups during world war 2 in europe, like in france, and greece, and italy, and all it was celebrated as heroic, how that manages to be characterized is terrorism when it's done by palestinians,
10:19 am
sir, and arab countries have performed very poorly, except of course uh yesterday, it was uh somewhat good to see that jordan, egypt and the palestinian authority all stood up joe biden in the planned summit that they had while joe biden was visiting israel in order to discuss the current outbreak of violence, so that's a start, but unfortunately their hands are largely tied in what they can do, because they have signed on and there would be consequences if they break these agreements, to prioritize israel's security requirements, over and above their own domestic laws and their own sovereignty, and it's time, i would say, if those countries are going to be taken seriously by the islamic oma, for them to renounce as the us so often does, their commitment to those
10:20 am
treaties, because there's no place for a treaties like that, which are already from the start built a mountain of lines. in fact everything that the occupation has been saying about this latest outbreak has been a mountain of lines, they talked about 40 babies being beheaded, that had to be retracted, it was a lie, they talked about the brutal treatment of these young uh israelis a ray party at the during the first incursion, since then israelis have come forward and said no, they were treated quite well, but then the israeli security forces came and opened up fire on - hamas fighters and any hostages, israeli hostages near them, killing everybody involved, so really the the the wrongful party in that exchange was as usual, the occupation, security forces, everything that they say has been established to be dubious at best, and there's no reason
10:21 am
to imagine that their claims that this - unfortunate attack on the hospital yesterday, was somehow done by islamic jihat, there's no reason to assume that that allegation too isn't entirely fabricated. it started, we should remember by tweets made by the occupation security operatus, making that claim and including video footage of it, which they subsequently took down very quickly once it was established the time stamps on the videos. didn't match the incident, in fact videos took were filmed like a half an hour, an hour after the attack on the hospital, so already that story is falling apart, but joe biden hasn't wasted any time to throw his weight behind this planned ground offensive, and and he hasn't wasted any time committing another eight
10:22 am
billion dollars of us taxpayer money to support uh... the israeli occupation force. okay, mr. grossman, let's also focus on what took place uh, few days ago at the united nations security council, the emergency session there where a russia proposed humanitarian ceasefire was vetoed uh, how alarming is it to see that happen, and how uh terrifying is it to see how little uh palestinian lives are valued? well, i'm one of those people that has always made. that the un is a useless organization as long as we still have these five countries in members the security council have ved to power, what's particular? disturbing about what happened the other day is that the russian proposal was by no means entirely pro-palestinian, in fact i found some of the language of it to be uh quite offensive, but
10:23 am
it was also quite clear from the start from even before the vote was taken, that the americans were going to uh oppose it and be to it just because they don't want to be seen to be agreeing to any proposal put forward by the russians, obviously is anything but the concerns that all right, i believe we lost that connection, but uh hopefully we'll get our guest mr grosson back from bally indonesia, live images that we're seeing right now from the gaza skyline uh the uh israeli attacks uh are continuing uh against the besige to gaza strip the deven the... defenses people of gaza. mr. grossem, i believe you're back with us now. um, so i don't know where we were cut off, but what is disturbing is that instead of doing what the
10:24 am
permanent members of the security council and the us in particular are required to do, which is use their special authority to further the obligations they have under the un charter to ensure regional security, that they instead use their power. exclusively to promote their own interests and to oppose the authority or the power of any other competing nation. they didn't even get into a discussion of this problem. this was entirely about the state of relations between russia and the united states and the position taken by the us the other day had absolutely nothing to do with this uh outrageous unfolding situation in palestine and unfortunately we see that... happening time and time again, and until the veto power enjoyed by five permanent members of the security council is eliminated. i'm concerned
10:25 am
that the un can never be seen as anything more than the tool of the us hegemony or atlantic world hegemony. so that's uh our guest international barie grossman joining us from bali indonesia. thank you for. to this segment of the program uh we are focusing uh fully on the israeli war on gaza uh as uh the uh israeli attacks on the palestinian besieg territory continue uh if i'm correct it's the 13th day of non-stop israeli attacks on the defenses people of gaza we are going to go for a short break but we'll be right back on the bottom of the hour with uh the world news thanks for watching everybody.

10:30 am
the headlines more palestinians fall victim to israel's attacks on the ghaza strip as the regime continued its genocidal policy against the besieg territory. pro-palestinian rallies continue across the world in the hague. protesters urge the international criminal court to stop israeli genicide of palestinians. and iran calls for joint efforts by all muslim countries to stop israel's war crimes and genocide against palestinians in.
