day 14 of operation alaxsa flood is continuing along with the massacre of the palestinians. the israeli regime forces have continued with their onslot on the gaza strip. the latest figures putting the death doll at around 4137 with 13 injuries. the death toll of children and women. continue to climb by some estimates putting that at 30%. meanwile the international community, if it can be called that, has failed even address the humanitarian assistance, even though the un secretary general has uh effortlessly tried to make sure aid flows into the ghaza strip to the rough border crossing, but that's being met by technical issues like the israel's rejecting that at least for now. where is this war going to go? our palestinians going to uh get closer to the
10:05 pm
dream of having having their lands liberated, just a couple of the questions we're going to be asking our guests in this edition of the spotlight, first let me introduce them, spokesperson at the masar bidil movement joins us from vancouver, also joining us is of mick here, co-founder of the scottish palestine solidarity campaign, who joined us from edinburgh. welcome to you both. i'll first start with you, if i may halid barakat, just to give you an example about the way that israel um has continued with not only the the killings, but the way that uh other mass atrocities, which many have concluded or war crimes a minimum is being committed by israel, before we came to this broadcast, this news of alco's hospital, to have been received warnings from israel that it needs to be evacuated, and "this is an
10:06 pm
impossibility because you have many patients there based on even the red cressent that uh are intensive care and they're hooked up to machines or they need medical attention uh the war crimes committed by israel are so astounding um what do you think is going to be done about that? are we going to see some accountability in any shape or form? uh thank you for the invitation and good evening to of you and your guest ' "i think the israeli war crimes are going to continue as long as the united states and the western powers like uk, germany, france, are providing the full support of these war crimes, they are complicit, and they have been supporting israelis not just with weapons and financial support and political support, but also selling is. the israeli narrative and lies
10:07 pm
and fabricating these lies to the world, also they have been blocking any kind of a real - peace or justice to happen in the area, and we know that the united states, although they might say that they are, for example, you know, they are for the human rights or palestinian rights or they're against israeli building settlements, but in reality, the united states does not care about palestinians, does not care about palestinian rights and we have heard. biden, and all along all these us administration, they've not just justify israel crimes and adopt the the israeli narrative, we know that the united states are an initiators of these wars, in 2006, their wars against lebanon, it
10:08 pm
was condel was pushing for that war, and this war too, and all along these aggression that israel have been conducting against the people in gazza in 2008, 2012, 2014, the united states always back israel. i think that this time there is a, we are revealing new balance of power on an international level, and gazza is revealing that, gaza is also revealing the true balance of power that it's new world it's coming along and usually in these kind of interim periods we see the atrocities that could happen at the hands of empire that is retreating, sure, the united states is weaker than actually what it used to be ever, and it is empire that is
10:09 pm
crumbling in my view. if you agree with that, make nap here that the us has actually a leading role in this, which all fingers are pointing to that. um, how much of risk does the us play in terms of uh, not only its international standing, but also revealing the true color and nature of the us in the previous wars that have happened in this region, for example the yemen war, we don't have your voice, mc napier, i'm sorry. okay, while we get that fixed, while that gets fixed, let me let me come to you, khalid barkat, so let's expand on this a little bit more, because it can't be just summed up in in in your response, um, in terms of the
10:10 pm
amount of military assistance uh that the us has given israel just since this operation broke out, and especially in the past days after the visit of the... us president is quite astounding, we understand that uh the the us so far in terms of military equipment uh had five planes carrying weapons to have arrived in israel today, and then since the start of the alasa um operation, 45 cargo planes carrying 1,00 tons of weapons have entered the um occupied territories, and there was as of days ago 6,000 tons, which i'm sure is... now lot more than that, at least 30% more, to have been dropped on gaza, that's quite remarkable, does that doesn't that require a rethink from whatever organization that should prevent civilian deaths to happen in terms of the assistance
10:11 pm
that the us is given to be directed at the us, so this doesn't happen, the united states since 1990, i'll say. after the collapse of the soviet union and the socialist block have been leading the world from one catastrophe to another and from one war to another. let's take a look at our region for example, all the wars that happened in west asia, in iraq, in yemen, in afghanistan, the the uh funding all these sectarian wars in the region, the killing of millions of people. most of the people of the region under sanctions, it has all been united states of america, orchestrated wars, sometime israel have role to play in that, sometimes regime have role to play in that egyptian regime, but this is
10:12 pm
a united states led war and atrocities and war crimes and they don't care about united nation or international law, just take a look at what happens destruction and they did not care, the united states doesn't care about international law, in fact they don't use that word anymore, if you ask any of these western leaders about international law, they won't talk about it, they don't want to talk about that, the the world has been um restructured in a way that the us decides the fate of of you, uh or wants to decide the faith of of humanity and now they've been met
10:13 pm
with opposition all over the world, um, the united states cannot okay, actually lead the world, the united states is a regional power, it's not an empire anymore that what it used to be 30 years ago, very well, we have mc nap here now with us, co-founder of the scottish palestine solidarity campaign, welcome to the program, mcnapier, where would you like to start with - my question, if you want to pursue answer to that, because there's so many different angles to this, and uh, what uh, i think is important is is to look at the way that the uk maybe has acted in this with rishi sunak, the way that joe biden is uh, giving the green light for this war to continue, and this is just a complete failure and breakdown uh when world leaders are giving the green light for maskers to take aways. i think your other guest has made the case, and if we had enough time we could... chapter and verse and statistics that the usa has been creating uh blood bath around the
10:14 pm
world ever since 1945. i mean it's important to know that the the international law against seasing parts of a country by force against - aggressive war, aggressive war being the the greatest crime of all in international law, because it contains within itself the... of all the other crimes, america is going to 1945, overthrowing governments, drowning governments and drowning people in blood, um, who who did not act in a way that the u.s. empire approved of. i mean, bill clinton went, apologized to the people of central america, when he was president, because it was a it was a bloodbath, it was a charnal house, america had support. the most bloody dictators who made no pretense of uh anything other than
10:15 pm
using ultra violence against the peoples, they went into vietnam and killed 3 million people before they were defeated, and you know the international law from 1945 was not meant to apply to asia and africa and latin america, it was for europeans and it and it was never invoked against the french with their bloody conquest and and sense of their rule in algeria and so on and so on and so on, so anyone who's surprised by the usa being ruthless, being ready to apply huge violence in order to maintain its domination of a region, simply doesn't know their history, and this terrible example today of is of israel enjoying us backing in order to commit genocide against the people of gaza. this has been known to anybody who could read for for 50 years, there's nothing hidden,
10:16 pm
design is have been very public, very clear, ever since the founding father herzel, but every other sign is government israely government since then, they want palestine with no palestinians, this is clear, it's not a conspiracy theory, it's written in their documents, they envisage a state based exclusively on... jews actually a weird state, because that means that jews in in uh, in in in scotland or or germany, they can determine the future of palestine, but palestinians may not, and that was the that was the the clear content of their so-called nation state law several years ago, that only jews have certain democratic rights and jews the whole world have never been to palestine, over and above the native. palestinian people, so it's an eggrigious crime, it's full spectrum criminality, because in order
10:17 pm
to clear the people out, whether this be north america, argentina, australia, canada or or palestine, you must use huge amounts of islands and and and of course it's a very ugly scene, the the the the additional point i would make is that as as opposed to say canada or australia, israel has become a the crusader state in the middle east, it's a kind of attack dog for america, and i made the point before, may i make it again, american support for israel was very modest until israel in 19. 67 defeated egypt, syria and jordan, and they proved that they could terrorize the the area, so then american aid to israel goes through the roof, but it's only because not because they care about the population of israel or anywhere else, but because it could be ally in order to patrol the local uh states. all right, we are
10:18 pm
reached a juncture between uh palestine and israel where um there is uh... point where uh things can't go back to the status quo. i don't know if you agree with that or not. if you do uh then there needs to be some kind of decisions made here. what i asking here? first of all operational loss of flood obviously just trashed the notion of israel's invincibility. defense one um is a website uh that is close to the american uh military establishment and they described hamas. in so many words and i'm paraphrasing here, but they knew exactly where to go, including things that were not marked in terms of side gates of bases, they knew where the critical communications nodes were that they were able to destroy with jones and other kinetic strikes to impeed the response, this was a lengthy article talking about the capabilities of hamas, so we know that hamas can't take on israel, and that's just hamas,
10:19 pm
of course with the other palestinian factions in this case, we were united, israel is going to go into the... a strip by all looks of it um what will it take uh in order for there to have a winner come out strong? many are pointing to the fact that hamas is going to uh defeat israel if israel decides on this invasion if that happens what will the aftermath look like? well mean israel is committing genocide and killing people for a reason also. so they want to triple the palestinian ability to fight back and they want to pressure the palestinian resistance and they want to be able to come out victorious or at least come out with a an image of victory, but these crimes doesn't actually cut that for israel, so they're
10:20 pm
going to have to fight, and if that happen, and this actually was a direct question. from binding to netanyahu that if you go to ghazza, how long would it take and how much you know that you can actually the palestinian resistance. i think that gazza is going to be a graveyard for israeli soldiers and israeli tanks, just like what happened in lebanon in 2006, if israel invades gazza, israeli army is going to suffer a great casualties that they might not be able to withstand. the other thing is that the israeli generals are complaining now that they don't have a clear orders from their political leadership, in fact they are publicly complaining that they don't know what they're doing, like are they going to occupy gazza, for example, and then what they gna rule gazza, and can they actually
10:21 pm
determine the faith of the palestinian resistance, this is not an organization, whether we're talking about hamas or... islamic jihad or others, these are not organizations who are operating in vacuum, they are part of the palestinian national liberation movement and their relationship to the people is like the relation between blood and flesh, you can't separate the two, so that's why one of israeli objectives is to displace palestinians from gazza because they feel that the palestinian resistance is a threat to israel and allies plans in the region, whether we're talking about normalization or their you know big economic project in the region, they feel that the the palestinian resistance and the lebanese resistance are an obstacle, and they know that this is part of camp of resistance in
10:22 pm
the region that is getting very, very powerful popular support. in in the entire arab and muslim world. defeat for israel here uh would would not just be defeat on the ground there in the ghaza strip, which many are are pointing to that, like our guests there said and many other actually military analysts, but if israel was to be defeated there, then going back to the occupied territories would also would also be facing such huge uh challenge on multiple fronts, mean you're going to have uh first as we're seeing in the occupied territories you're having crimes occur, you having many palestinians who uh are being detained, they're being killed a much faster rate, you have economy that's decimated, and who's going to invest in in israel when israel? can't guarantee them security, so um, you know, the whole foundation of israel is a jeeparty here, isn't it? well, we have to
10:23 pm
think back to the 7th of october, and what did the world look like then? um, palestinians were supposed to live and die in the ghaza cage, and their children were supposed to live and die, and israel was triumphant, a technological... a giant internationally who sold its means of repression to governments all over the world to control their people, it was a model for repression, it was a planetary uh number one in many ways, all all because it was tested on the bodies of palestinian people. israel had automatic machine gun, robot machine ter machine gun towers around gaza, high tech, the palestinians were supposed to be in the disgusting words. of raffitan, an israeli general, like druged cockroaches in a bottle, well they weren't druged cockroaches in a bottle, it was astonishing, and in the
10:24 pm
animals of asymmetric warfare, the vietnamese against the american invaders, you know, so many the the the algerians against the french, it's not just that the the the the the colonized people were weaker militarily, this... this was such a gigantic difference between the military powers that is utterly astonishing what happened that the the palestinian resistance was able to break out of ghaza, was able to kill 300 soldiers of this apparently model army, it was remarkable, so israel has always had had fixed point that they must not just win against arab countries and arabs, they must be invince. they must have such an edge that that they terrorize the whole area, they call it their deterrant edge, well they lost it, they lost it in 2006 of course, they lost a
10:25 pm
lot of it, but what does this do? so i think the only way the israelis can redress this is uh is to exterminate the palestinians and mean i'm reminded of the words of one american general in vietnam, we had to destroy the town in order to liberate it, now that's what that's american double. but they did use b-52 bombers, they did destroy, they did kill millions of people, so i yes i'm afraid, but i'm also inspired, and so are millions, 300 million people across the arab world, so there's everything to fight for, but i would just say despite, despite the amazing heroism, ingenuity, intelligence, strategic genius of the palestinian resistance, they cannot win on their own, they need the support of people. across the region and across the world, and are they going to get that? in a minute, please. i think that palestinians are already getting
10:26 pm
the popular support, i think they are managing to change the course of the compass the people of the region. let's remember that in the last 12 years, there has been a lot of destruction in the region, the arab societies and the... serian wars and now jerusalem is back to be the compass of the arab and and muslim and the free will of the people of the world, i mean millions and millions are marching again, not just saying free palestine from the river to the sea, but they're saying that they support the palestinian resistance, and palestine is still the cause of the region. thank you, khalid barakat, spokesperson, masar badol movement in vancouver, mc napier, thank you so much, found of the scottish palestine solidarity campaign from edinburgh. with that we come to an end for this edition of the spotlight, from the team. it's goodbye.
10:28 pm
10:29 pm
israel started two wars on gaza, it resulted in destroying the infrastructure and ruining most fields. israel has been imposing a siege on the strip for more than seven years, in addition to blocking the crossings and preventing people from traveling. palestinian women played a significant role in highlighting these issues in media. we as journalists are capable of delivering our message to the world through the culture and the mind energy we have. i haven't faced any difficulties, i mean the palestinian society accepts the woman as part of it, so they even support us. for mind you right now to brief that you are strong to be here in this position.
