uh the one of the biggest ones if not the biggest by some accounts for for it to have experienced it uh puts a it gives a warm feeling to one do you think that these protest rallies will have an impact in one way or another to lead to to ultimate first step and that is uh a ceasefire uh of of that to happen on the ground what do you think well it's not just washington dc and new york where these protest rallies are being held in fact i'm heading out to one shortly. in toronto where at least 100,000 people are expected, and in addition to that, in small towns and cities across canada, there are other rallies that we are that are being held in fact, one in our locality as well, we hold that and then we head out to the big rally downtown in toronto, so there are massive rallies all over the world, number one, secondly, definitely these rallies are big.

to have some effect or at least i can mention that in canada while the canadian government is solidly behind the zionist regime as and is providing political, economic, military help, there we have noticed a perceptible shift in the attitude of the canadian government in terms of saying the prime minister in fact saying that security of israel cannot be achieved at the expense of killing innocent people, and that's the first time that the canadian prime minister has issued any such statement since october the 7th, and this is definitely the result of the massive, massive demonstrations that have been occurring throughout canada, not only every weekend, but in fact during weekdays as well, in the evenings, candle vigils etc. that's that's one aspect of it, the other is that there are now countries around the world that are breaking off diplomatic. relations
7:02 pm
with the zionist regime, not as many as we want and we hope, for instance bolivia has broken off diplomatic relations, chile and mexico have withdrawn their ambassadors, jordan has withdrawn its ambassador, bahrain has done, we are looking forward to egypt doing the same thing and in fact cutting off diplomatic relations, similarly with turkey and other muslim countries and countries in africa that they should cut off diplomatic relations with this zionist regime. which is perpetrating war crimes and have a complete boycot of any trade with it, i think that will definitely have an impact. okay, we appreciate it, thank you very much for that zafar bangash, zafar bangash there, director of the institute of contemporary islamic thought, spoke to us from toronto, so don't forget we mentioned this protest rally in washington dc, 17:30 gmt in about two and a half hours time is when that's going to happen, we're going to be covering it from 9:30 pm local time here.
