palestine's ambassador riad mansor told reporters that the resolution was a small step in the right direction. the council previously tried to adopt a resolution on the gaza war, but to no avail four drafts failed in october pitting russia and china on one side against the us on the other. face with the council's inability attack, un general assembly adopted a non-binding text late last month, calling for an immediate humanitarian truth. in gaza. the administration of us president joe biden is facing scathing criticism over its unbrittled support for israel's genocidal war on the besieg gaza strip a former state department official says domestic policy concerns or leading us officials willfully to ignore quote israeli war crimes and stifled descent overarming tel aviv. josh paul says many officials are disturbed by the actions of the israeli military in gaza, but they turn a blind. die to rules governing arms transfers to the regime. he says many government officials including elected officials a very senior

level share the same opinion but are not willing to say it in public because they could lose their jobs. paul quit his post last month over washington's support for tel aviv. a leaked memo obtained by the american news website axios revealed that 100 us government employees say israel's committing war crimes. they believe that biden's support for the regime has made him complicit in the ongoing. genocide in gaza. earlier we were joined by sam husseini and american journalist who has warned us officials of legal action for their complicity in the war crimes in gaza. he says every legal mechanism should be used against israel for its genocide in gaza. with the genocide convention israel is uniquely vulnerable. um now will that. stop israel from bombing, it it seems to be the best possible legal

mechanism to do so, a ruling by the world court, particularly emergency ruling, would put tremendous additional pressure on the un to act, would further isolate the us at the security council and could be used by the general assembly to invoke uniting for peace. which is mechanism that many have long sought to use at the general assembly to remedy um the enormous problem of the us veto at the security council, so this is the next best move in order to attempt to use what, obviously the united states and israel, another line of my questioning was the geneva conventions, they're refusing even acknowledge the applicability. the generic inventions um in in gaza and palestine, they
9:44 am
were effectively trying to turn it into a free fire zone, so they have culminated series of insidious legal steps in order to lay the false basis for this massive um assault on humanity, what's needed is many forms of resistance to this, and one of those forms is attempting to use every legal. mechanism at people's disposal. the international outcry against israel's brutal war on gaza continues to grow with people holding new mass rallies worldwide to show support for the palestinians. let live, let live. if we don't get it. in washington, protesters and police faced off outside the

democratic national headquarters as pro palestine groups flooded the vicinity. the protesters were calling for a ceasefire in the gaza strip, police evacuated the area after making some arrests, an anti-zionist jewish group has accused the police of violently assaulting peaceful protesters. elsewhere in the british capital, london protesters rallied outside parliament, demanding lawers fire in gaza, carrying palestinian flags, a crowd criticized politicians for their inaction, also in jordan's capital aman, security forces mobilized to guard the us embassy as hundreds of pro-palestinian. protesters gathered near the facility, the protesters condemned as rary raids on al shifa hospital uh as well as the us support for the regime's atrocities for further insight on the ongoing israeli war on gaza we're now joined by professor meritus of accounting at california state university paul shelden foot who's with us
9:46 am
from mervine california also we have international lawyer mr. barry grossman's joining us from bali indonesia. professor foot, let's start off with you, the administration of us president, joe biden is facing skating criticism over its support for israel's genocidal war on the besieg gaza strip a leaked memo from the state department said that uh also memo uh by the um news outlet axios also pointed to this casm that's growing uh what can you tell us about uh this uh foundation of port for israel uh amongst us diplomats that seems to be showing some cracks in it. it's true with the problem, however that they don't dare come out in the open, the the penalties for them would be the end their careers, they were thrown out of the federal government, where do they go next for a job? uh, we even had as you recall not
9:47 am
so long ago the harvard students, protesting and a professor wrote a letter in the wall street journal say don't hire my students, mean when you have the zias controlled press and control of so many corporations uh that's not really an approach that will work, what will work is for individuals to take action, for example, stop going to church. is on sundays where the preachers are supporting israel, stop uh, stop attending fundraisers, we we had a fund raiser the other day for the president and this lady rabbi went and spent $00 just so she could ask him a question about what what are you going to do something about the people gaz and she got bood out of the place by the democrats in the room, that
9:48 am
doesn't work, you got to do more than that, you've got to just boycot, you got to make it clear that you're not going to support - the people on either party anymore uh, but i'm sure that the surveys are correct, it's just no one would dare take those positions in the open, you're going to be attacked in the internet, be called a jew hater, a self-ating jew or something of that nature, and your your career will be in deep trouble. let's cross over to barry grossman in balli, indonesia, um, same top. mr. grossman a leaked memo obtained by american news website axios revealed that 100 us government employees say israel is committing war crimes. they've also censured joe biden uh for his uh unequivocal support for the massacre that's taking place right now. i want to get uh your perspective on this leaked memo and do you think that the international global awareness and the
9:49 am
worldwide demonstrations are are paying off right now? well look there's enough. two of these memores fl around, so there's not just one, there's another one, for example that is referred to in a in a new york times article, that counts over 500 signatories, and there seems to be a third one as well, there's also been in the last week, lawsuit started by a well-respected ngo in the united states against the biden administration, for refusing to take. action to ensure that international law is respected uh as this crisis unfolds and i certainly appreciate what your other guestt is saying about the concerns people have about coming forward and how it could end their careers, but frankly i
9:50 am
couldn't, i couldn't care less, i mean since the nurenburg principles uh was made very... very clear that things like acting on orders and doing one's duty are not going to be viable defenses where war crimes and crimes against humanity are concerned and while these memos fall short of accusing byden of actually being partie to the commission of genocide or other war crimes, they certainly go as far as they d ago by pointing out that he's shown complete disregard for palestinian lives, both before and after october 7th, and going back from... before october 7th, that the policy embraced by the us government has been, what's the expression they use,
9:51 am
demonstrated a reckless lack of foresight and failed in any way to leave room for genuine dialogue about two-state solution. uh, more generally, i don't think there's any, there's certainly plenty of scope to argue about jurisdiction. for example, at the international criminal court to entertain a case as a result of what's infolding right now, but if we leave aside questions of jurisdiction and the like, i don't think there's any scope to argue that what has been unfolding does not fit squarely within the current accept a definition both by the united nations and by the icc of genocide. uh and applying basic principles of criminal responsibility, it doesn't take much of a stretch, to argue that the biden
9:52 am
administration is an active party to the implementation of this policy, which amounts to an act of genocide, so all of these individuals who would like to come forward, but are sitting quietly boding their... tongue because they're concerned about their careers, i have no uh genuine sympathy for them, i would have of course if they came forward and as a result of coming forward as is their duty um were then made to pay the price by having their careers ended, there's a way to seek redress for that as well, but what we are seeing is something approaching uh you know almost a mutuny within the ranks the bite administration, and i don't see uh things improving as people continue to,
9:53 am
people have grown tired of the propaganda, they see it quite clearly now for what it is, it stands out above and beyond any real facts, it doesn't require any special skill anymore to pick it out, i think people around the world, including in america. and certainly in the united kingdom, where the government's busy trying to criminalize them, have had enough of their government supporting the war crimes, ethnic cleansing and genocide being perpetrated by the occupation against palestinians and we're going to see a change, i i have to respectfully disagree or take exception to what you previous has said, i think these things all uh make a difference, and i don't think any course of action is mutually exclusive with others, i mean he certainly correct to say it would be nice to see uh
9:54 am
upright christians walk away from sermons and churches which are which are apologies for the zionist regime because they're trying to sort of hurry along the prophecies that... promised to them the second coming of their savior, as it work, uh, but um, i think it makes equal sense for people to stop contributing uh, financially to political campaigns, although of course that just opens the door even more contributions by major corporations who seem to shots when it comes to public policy, but what is clear coming out of these uh, these memos is... that there is a palpable sense amongst the the diplomatic ranks and in other government agencies that the united states federal
9:55 am
government has allowed its politically motivated policy to stand in the way of its duty under international law, and and they're coming forward and god bless them for doing that. professor foot, there is uh some... political turbulence uh in israel as well, many uh experts and observers uh believe that uh the uh excessive uh use of force and the this uh this massacre that the israelis are carrying out with it was probably trying uh to buy some time buy some legitimacy with the israeli public and also try to distract and divert attention from all the political strife. and the troubles he was facing inside israel, but now israel, uh, the opposition leader has called on uh prime minister netanyahu to step down, and of course there's growing disconntent um out on the... streets
9:56 am
over his handling of uh the recent uh bloodshed and massacre that the israels are carrying out against the palestinians in gaza so uh it it turns out that that was not the case and uh he's still in trouble and he's still in hot water at home. before uh october 7th there were huge demonstrations against him trying to get rid of him and protests in the streets even for that and so. he was saved by the events in gaza and they formed a unity government where all came together and say well we are we can't agree with each other but we have to be together on this one so these are nice signs of cracks in the unity government uh there's there's hope that uh his unity government will fall apart barry rossman uh your thoughts on the issue as well
9:57 am
well yeah, there's there's no question that since managing to put together a government, a minority government at that, with number of votes, which is equivalent to municipal elections in most major cities, um, that is decided that that himself is decidedly fallen into disfavor amongst majority of israeli voters, and of course he he went into that election. facing a trial on corruption charges, which has been put on hold, and then he launched into this program to modify, essentially israel's constitutional foundations, in order to provide much wider scope for the executive branch to interfere with determinations made by the judiciary,
9:58 am
that's you an idea of how desperate the likes of netanyahu are, to make sure that their particular view of things and how the universe should be must prevail over all else including over the views expressed by their own judicial apparatus, which is anything other than neutral on these issues as well, so he's certainly fallen into disfavor and there are... there's significant resistance to to the way the israeli government is dealing with this crisis and perhaps the grand daddy of them all, the elephant in the in the room, are deep concerns about the intelligence failure, if it's proper to call it that, which enabled the attacks on the seventh of october to unfold in the first place, so i think any view. uh, mr.
9:59 am
netanyahu's uh days as the prime minister of israel appear to be numbered, but he does have an uncanny ability, he has more lives than than a cat, so to speak, he does have an uncanny ability to manipulate every situation in order to put himself squarely in the middle of everything, and at the help, very often at the expense of a great great number of palestinian lives, but the sooner we see the back end of the likes of netanyahu and some of the other players at the hard right of israeli politics, i suppose the better things will be, but let's not lose sight of the fact that as much as we talk about human rights and and the rest of palestinians don't have human rights problem, israel has human
10:00 am
rights problem. palestinians have territorial problem, the palestinian cause is first and foremost territorial cause, which is seen now for over 75 years, foreigners come into their lands and kick them out very often using violence and force, and until that can be redressed, there can't be solution, and just being a little bit nicer to... palestinians by uh, by treating them better as they clean your house and in in the occupied territories, or giving them slightly better wages, it's not going to cut it, this has always been my great concern that lot of the support we see now for palestinians will dwindle the moment re.
