of on day 41 of israel hospital is surrounded by israeli tanks and buldoss. no one is allowed to leave the medical complex regime forces have bombed the hospital's water line, also stolen several palestinian bodies. hamas has presented evidence rejecting israeli allegations that the palestinian resistance movement operates under hospitals in gaza. the senior representative of hamas said the us, israel have aired bases allegation.

against hammas. un experts say there is evidence on quote increasing genocidal insightment against the palestinians in gaza. of the experts have denounced the grave violations israel has been undertaking in gaza since october 7th. the group also censured governments for their failure in achieving the seasfire. in washington pro palestine rally turns violent as protesters and police faced off outside of the... democratic national headquarters. protesters called for seasfire in gaza. also some britain's capital london and jordan's capital aman protesters condemned israelly raids on al shah hospital as well as the us support for the regime's atrocities. leban's resistance has carried out another strike against israeli military positions along the border. thisbolla fired rockets and missiles towards seven israeli military sites. injuries have been reported among israeli soldiers.
11:02 pm
afrika has a long history of solidarity with palestine. 50 years ago, after the october 1973 war between the israeli apart regime and some arab armies, most african countries decided to cut off ties with the israeli regime in solidarity with arab countries. now of the move came after the organization of african unity, oau, the precursor to the african union, called on member states to break off relations with the israeli apart regime. additionally, the organization of african unity in its 12th ordinary session held in kapala in 1975. five became the first
11:03 pm
international body to recognize a large scale the inherent racism in israel's zionist ideology. in february this year a senior of israeli regime's diplomat was forcefully removed from the african union's annual summit in ethiopia after the regime's observer status at the block was suspended. now amid the general war that the israeli regime has been waiting against this has a strip the growing calls for african countries to take a similar decision they took 50 years ago, so will african union once again lead the continent in breaking ties with the israeli apathide regime. hello, i'm mubarak kenya and this is africa today. in this week's episode, we are focusing on growing calls by african people that their governments should cut off ties with the israeli apart regime over its genocidal war against palestinians in gaza. so stay with us and drop us alind through our social. media
11:04 pm
handle as you watch. will africa cut ties with israel? the people of africa have been protesting against the ongoing israeli apartide regime's genocidal war against palestinians in gaza. the protest marches have attracted people from various religious denominations, including muslims, christians and jews. many protest. are calling for total economic boycot of israel and have urged their government to end diplomatic ties with this racist regime. prominent south african anti-apartide activist reverend alan boysak participated in a pro-palestinian demonstration in cape town recently where he called for the shutting down of the israeli embassy in the country. palestinians can do nothing while their children are dying. thank you. do nothing with words when they are
11:05 pm
dying of hunger, when they are being bombed, when churches and mosks and hospitals are being bomb, then words are no longer enough, i think what this government must do and must do immediately is that this embassy of the israeli government should be shut down, we should brand officially the israeli government as an apart government. for more analysis and calls for africa to cut all ties with the israeli regime, we have contacted jamia gallant, the chair person of the palestine solidarity campaign of capetown south africa. thank you for your time, madam. uh, thank you for for inviting me. well. have with us today zahid rajan, the coordinator of kenyans for palestine movement. thank you, mr. rajan for your time. thank you. now, 50 years ago, in 1973, most african countries decided to end their diplomatic relations
11:06 pm
with the israeli regime. now, mr. rajan, what was the main factor behind this solidarity move? thank you, it's not only the arab israel. war, i think the african diplomatic relation with israel finally broke when africa took a step against israel's support the upperside regime in in south africa obviously in link with the us and i think that was the main reason why africa as a whole took a stand to say that we breaking of diplomatic relations with israel i think that is more of a of... of a reason for africa taking that stand. now let's bring in miss jamia gallant, we are witnessing the israeli apart regime committing unprecedented crimes against palestinians in the ghaza strip, now unlike in 1973, we are yet to see african
11:07 pm
countries taking a united front in ending ties with the israeli regime, what could be the reason behind this? okay, um, well, i think the world has changed since 1973, to be honest, i think all of the post colonial regimes that we have in africa at the moment, has been bought by by big capital, so we we've seen increase in neo imperialist interventions in africa, including, including israel, and so we have kind of the condition under which the post colonial states in africa have been muted in any response that they that they may have given at another time because particularly of the of the the kind the dependencies of the political elites in all of these countries who have in in many
11:08 pm
different ways um collaborated with powerful global interests including the us and of course by proxy all of all of its allies and so they they very much constrained at this point as we have seen um at the au itself. some african countries have started to take steps to boycot the israeli regime diplomatically. the south african government has also said it will recall all diplomats from israel to signal its concern over the situation in gaza. south african foreign minister naledi pandor says that the nature of response by israel has become one of collective punishment. chad has also recalled its sharge affairs to the israeli regime for consultations. latin american countries have been more resolute in condemning israel's genocidal war on gaza and even some of them
11:09 pm
have cut ties with the israeli regime. the permanent representative of bolivia to the united nations diego opari rodriguez elaborates here on his country's decision to cut ties with the israeli apart regime. bolivia has the atmost respect for international law for the charter of the united nations and for member states, and we will go down on the right side of history. we are on the side of the rights of the palestinian people as a result, the people and government of bolivia has taken the decision to break diplomatic die ties from today with the state of israel, because we consider it a state that does not respect life of peoples of international international law or international humanitarian law. well we've had the the bolivian envoy to the un announcing that his country is cutting ties with the israeli regime. now mr. raj, this for you, why are
11:10 pm
african countries not taking similar measures against the israeli apart regime? they have been protests and i think you need to distinguish with. between what government say and what the people do, so you cannot equate the support of african government for israel to the african solidarity by the african people for palestine, we are 54 countries on the african continent and that distinction needs to be made, we've had we had great acts of solidarity from kenya, from south africa, from nigeria, from senegal, from tanzania, from malawi and so and so forth, so they have been there been acts of solidarity, there have been demonstrations, there have been public statements. atraali inogadugu in 1983, thomas sankara, the revolutionary leader of
11:11 pm
burkina faso, who was later assassinated, talked about how zionism was crushing arab people, en afrique du sud, en train d'étaler, en train d'égorger les africains, simplement parce que ces africains pensent à la liberté comme vous aujourd'hui, l'impérialisme, il est là-bas en train d'écraser les peuples arabes, c'est le sionisme, l'impérialisme est partout et à travers sa culture... qu'il répond à travers ses fausses informations, il nous amène à penser comme lui, il nous amène à nous soumettre à lui, à le suivre dans toutes ses manœuvres, de grâce, il faut que nous barrions la route à cet impérialisme. fearlessly against imperialists and zionists, many african leaders are now not ready to. come out strongly and openly to condemn the israeli apartite regime. any statements
11:12 pm
condemning israel will immediately uh impact uh these leaders relationships uh with the us and they cannot afford to do that. in fact, we've just seen that that demonstrated in south africa just yesterday amits the current catastrophe unfolding, we still had a meeting of african states and and labor leaders with the the the president of the united states are being here, so the the close alliance between the united states and israel is, i think one of the biggest factors, that that mutes any response from african leaders to condemn, israeli, the israelli aparted regime. before occupying palestine, zionists. had considered settling in kenya during the british colonial rule. on august 26, 1903,
11:13 pm
the founding father of zionism theodor hezzel had proposed the jews settle in present day western kenya. however, this evil plan did not succeed. the existence of such a scheme should be enough to jult african governments to join the people in the continent in strongly rejecting the israeli colonial entity and supporting the liberation of palestine. mr. rajan, this for you, what? what's your opinion on this plan and uh the need for african countries to support the liberation of palestine? thank you for your question, we we are acutely aware of israel's plan to actually take over kenya and uganda, like they've done palestine, so we actually aware of this historical fact and appled by that there was that they even thought about that, but that's not surprising, i mean considering that kenya in particular. africa as a whole have been a victim of colonial and neocolonial rule, and that it is only in the
11:14 pm
interest of the colonialists to capture, colonize and occupy any part of the world for their own benefit, and i think in that sense, the african countries are very well aware, and that is where the solidarity am from, in the sense that we have been victims of colony. now we are acutely aware of what colonialism did to our people and the heroic struggle that the african people waged against colonialism to get independence and so we are completely in in solidarity with palestine because we understand that that israel is settler colonial state that have occupied palestine and that sense our solidarity. with palestine is unconditional and unequivocal, we stand with palestine and
11:15 pm
just like mandela say that the freedom of africa is incomplete without the freedom of the palestinian people. well, thank you for that zahid rajran. we'll now take a short break before we continue with our show, so stay with us. will after. cut ties with israel, the us pushed one-sided mock of seasfire announced in northern gaza comes as a direct result of the... failure of the israeli occupation army to achieve any significant battlefield accomplishments that could be used in negotiations. this suggests that the israeli regime may soon be forced to reconsider its objectives to align with the outcome of the battles on the ground, where they seem to send in their soldiers and they never return. nevertheless, netanyahu and his cabinet are still unwilling to agree to sease

fire before achieving success that would alleviate the accountability they expect to face at the end of... the war in the aftermath of the heroicsa flot operation and the failure of the grand operation in gaza, displacement or death this week on the media stream. welcome back to africa today, and this week we are also focusing on the israeli regime's genocidal war on gaza, and it calls for african countries to cut off ties with his criminal regime. the algerian parliament on november 2nd unanimously voted to authorize president abdul majid tabun to enter the
11:17 pm
current war in gaza and throw his support behind palestine. now the move by the algerian parliament. is tandem with the sentiments of the masses in these north african country where demonstrations continue to take place and people turning out in large numbers to express solidarity with palestinians. obviously the palestinian people and the algerian people are of the same blood, speak with the same voice, be it the rulers, the people. algeria has always been with the palestinian cause. well, indeed uh. the algerian people just like people in the rest of africa are standing with palestine. now this question is for miss galand. what's your view on the historic decision by the algerian parliament to support uh palestinians militarily? i think it's a it's it's excellent and it is to be welcome because the decision really is testimony to the recognition of the genocide
11:18 pm
that is currently unfolding in palestine. it is a recognition. that there needs to be new axis of support for palestine uh to counter the the the backing that israel gets from um the western global global powers at the moment we do not have that kind of access of support for palestine of the arab states as you asked me about the the african states who are muted in their condemnation of israel so to are some of the arabs. precisely not because of their normalization so much of relations with israel, but very much because the their dependency and reliance on on the united states and so for algeria to come out and and make that decision is is to be welcomed because it must encourage other
11:19 pm
african states, other arab states to kind of cooless to to to... a counterpower to what israel has at the moment in terms of its war against the people of palestine. africa has a long history of solidarity with palestine, the organization of african unity, the precursor to the african union, in its 12th ordinary session held in kampala in 1975, became the first international body to recognize a large scale the inherent racism in israels. ideology by adopting, the problem of palestine is also very serious because you can read, you can see for yourself, now over 26 years, zionist since they force palestine
11:20 pm
out by force, they don't want to give back, yeah he has been in united nation, he made clear that palestin, palestinian are ready to leave with the jews in jerusalem, with christians and muslims, because there is palestinians are muslim and the christians, they are all together, and this is rejected up to now by the israelis and therefore what can we do now? we must support completely this palestinian case. and we must do everything possible to see that those people who are against the principle and the charter the united nation which the israeli are
11:21 pm
members and south africa have been members must be expelled from the united nations. the masses in africa expect their leaders and the african union to once again take the lead and condemn. israel's genocidal war against palestinians. it is an indictment against the african union that in fact they've not come out um very explicitly and very loudly to condemn israel's genocidal war against um palestinians but you know as as i've been saying in response to your other questions the african union itself has become toothless precisely because so many of the african states so many of the of the... leadership within africa has has been captured by um global neuocolonialism, neo imperialism, and
11:22 pm
so they've become toothless in speaking truth to power. in its first 10 years, the international criminal courts investigations and prosecutions mostly concerned situations in africa while ignoring crimes committed by the united states and the israeli regime. now this court is seen by many in africa as a... post-colonial tool for western states to control africa. south african foreign minister naredy panda previously called on the icc to issue arrest warrants for the criminal leaders of the israeli apart regime. deepest condolences to the people of palestine for the loss of lives. we have become tired at the abuse of the people of palestine. south africa is a longstanding partner in solidarity with the people of. given that they supported our own struggle for freedom, we believe they have a right to enjoy justice and freedom, and we call on the world to be as concerned about the deaths of
11:23 pm
palestinians as they're concerned about deaths of any other nation in the world, so we really believe we want to hear the icc indicating that an arrest warrant would be issued for leaders of apart israel who are the ones are supporting the massacre of the people of palestine. now next question is to mr. rajan: what role can african countries play in demanding that israeli war criminals perpetrating genocide in gaza are charged before the international criminal court? i think it it it is, one has to be careful of saying that the international criminal court is the only. court of justice available to the palestinian people, like you are aware that the united nations has been a body that
11:24 pm
has supported liberation struggles and the right to justice and and self determination. during the south african struggle, the the united nations did recognize south africa as being an apathite state and set up an apart convention and i think it is important that that part of the the lobbing that is been done and we and we appload the united nations secretary general for having taken a stand against the current genacide that is going on in palestine so i think you know the the united nations first and foremost must play this role in in in calling out israel for what it is for condemning the genus. in the violence against the palestinian people and that the african people under the african union and other international bodies should take, should take and are taking whatever
11:25 pm
necessary steps they are to call out apathide israel for its excesses and its occupation of palestine. the united nations general assembly recently adopted a resolution calling for immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce in gaza. resolution was backed by most african countries despite pressure from the israeli regime and its main backer, the united states. now last question goes to mr. rajan, the un resolution showed that if united, african countries can successfully pile pressure on the israeli apaffer regime and eventually isolate the regime internationally. what's your opinion on this? so uh, first. things first, i think we first of all need our african body, the africa union to to to cancel this observer status of israel with the chair of the
11:26 pm
africa. union unfortunately granted israel without consultation and democratic consensus within the african union, so we need to get our house in order on the african continent and get the eu, and the eu has made a statement calling for humanitarian support, but more so we need to put our footwear mouths and eject israel from au and not allow it its observ status, we also need as as all african countries is to make sure that we call not only for the ejection of israel from the african union, but we demand as african people that all african countries should cut diplomatic ties with the upperside israel without any conditions whatsoever. well, there you have it, the people of africa are demanding that their governments should cut of ties with the israeli apart regime. i'd

like to thank. our guest today miss jamia gallant and zahidrajan for their incisive analysis. that's all we had for this week's edition of africa today. as always, it's great having you watch the show. you can watch this episode and all our previous shows on our website pressv.ir. thanks lot for watching and goodbye for now.
