friend of the ussr, but i have never seen it come out so openly in support of any move of the ussr as our present government has done. on israel and i think in that they have really you know they are understanding the that lot of damage has been done because they have surely lost if they had any hope of any support of muslim votes, i think that hope has totally gone or they have understood that they are not going to be supported by muslim votes because this kind of open you know support of power like... israel, i don't think it has ever happened in recent you political history, this has been a wake up call for for indian muslims, because this this one issue has brought them together on one platform, which hasn't happened any

individuals globally and nationally are not represented and we've seen that very clearly. now for course, one place where there has been a lot of support and solidarity for what's going on in. palestine and even before that has been the north of ireland, especially and ireland overall. how do you account for that? well, the best way for me. to account for that is to give you my personal perspective of what i see or the parallels between ireland under british colonial rule and palestine under british colonial rule and the british mandate because it's exactly the same, it's a military occupation of another sovereign nation that has its own culture, that has its own religion, has its own language and dialect, uh, we for 800 years in ireland suffered under military uh british pression and occupation, we had the famin in 1847 to 1852

and which two million people either died or emigrated and what was a man-made faman caused by the fact that there was the potato blate, but the british took the surplus food out so there was enough food in ireland to feed the irish people, but for profit and for money they took those uh excess potatos and larm and beef and milk and cheese and... everything that the people needed to subsist on, and they took that to britain and sold it for profit, and a parallel right now between what's happening in gaza where people are being denied water, being denied food, they're facing starvation and dehydration and malnutrition, completely man-made, 100%, yes, yes, yes, and when you have people like churchill, he is claimed by the british public to be the statesman, the elder statesman of great britain, he was involved in the farming and uh, i think it was bengal, where four million people stied of died of starvation, i think there was a farman also
