the headlines at press tv, more than 141 more palestinians are killed, and some 400 oters injured in just one day of the israeli general cyber war in gaza. muslims in iran and around the world host. special morning ceremonies on the eve of thosa and the fbi raids the home of thomas matthew crooks who tried to assassinate donald trump in his campaign rally.
7:31 pm
hello, welcome, live from tehran, you've turned to press tv's world news and hashimi, thanks so much for being with us, first story takes us back to gaza this hour where israel presses ahead with its deadly strikes on the gaza strip, more than nine months into the genocide in the blockaded territory, at least 17 more palestinians were killed after the regime attacked and unros school in the news refugee camp, the school has housed the hundreds of displaced people. israeli war plans also pounded the gaza city and khan unis, leaving over dozen more people dead. according to the gaza health ministry, 141 palestinians were killed and some 400 others wounded during the past day. israel launched its general side of war on gaza in october of last year. more than 38,580 people mostly women and children have been killed since then. well four israeli soldiers have been
7:32 pm
wounded, one of them critically during a car ramming operation near a bus stop, the city of roble inside of the occupied territories. according to israely police, the attacker believed to be a palestinian from the occupied west bank was gun down on the scene. the operation took place near the nears of a military base north of ruble city, concurrently with the general sido on. slot in gaza, the israeli military has been increasing its incursions into palestinian homes and refugee camps, further escalating tensions. well regime searches, arrests and raids against palestinians are a daily occurrence in the occupied territories. palestinians and many observers regard such anti-israel operations as natural reaction to all the crimes being committed against palestinians by the telaviv regime. meanwhile
7:33 pm
the lebanese resistance movement has conducted new operations against israel positions in the occupied territories, how the operations were in retaliation for the israeli regime's atrocities against civilians in southern lebanon and the genocidal war on palestinians in the besieged gaza strip. our lebanon correspondent mariam sallet brings us more. of course has definitely retaliated for the killing of this. civilians and the targeting of civilian areas especially since there was a very heavy shelling on the town of bleeda in addition to hamam as well there was a lot of heavy shelling whether from artillery fire even drone attacks against that area has of course retaliated with several operations especially against a group of soldiers that were seen moving in the surrounding of coast which is in the shaba farms lebanese occupied farms and this the
7:34 pm
the main operation today which was in retaliation for the killing of two civilians and the targeting of civilian vehicles in the main route which is of course taken by civilians a daily basis was a attack of squadron of drones we're talking about maybe tens uh maybe hundreds not clear the number of drones that used in this we know that the israeli war planes failed in stopping or intercepting these drones the extent were pursuing. the drones in several areas all across the galile, but it seemed that those drones made it to their target and reach the area of elite, which is the recent recent barras of the 91st division. definitely this has left scores of israeli soldiers killed or wounded, of course, does not give exact numbers and the israelis have not admitted to the exact numbers. millions of muslims across iran and other countries. taking part in
7:35 pm
morning processions on the eve of tasa, the ninth day of the lunar month of muharram. tasa preceeds ashhura, the day when imam hussain, the third year imam was murdered. how shia muslims hold morning ceremonies during the first 10 days of muharram to commemorate imam hussein a grandson of islam's prophet muhammad and his 72 companions. they were all murdered brutally in the battle of carbala in southern iraq in 680 ad. after fighting courageously for justice against the much larger army of the den omad khalif yazid. tasuwa mainly morns imam hussain's brother abbas who made great sacrifices to... the imam and his family, morningers were black during this time and hold special ceremonies and rituals, mostly reciting the heart-wrenching events of caravela, and you're looking at live images there coming from the city of zandon, as it's
7:36 pm
one of the cities, especially on this day that have very, very large processions, of course... this is towards the end of that procession, now right before on the evening prayer, uh, it ends, again, lots of people have turned out today in zanja as they do every year, this on the eve of tha, and of course, we will be looking at images coming from throughout the islamic republic of iran, the next two days, both tasa and ashhura um and watching the people um commemorate of course this very sad occasion, many might say, well something that happened almost 1400 years ago, but it's a it's a typical battle, the epic battle of right versus wrong, evil versus good, and uh, we bring it up to today's situation, what we are witnessing,
7:37 pm
the situation of the palestinians, of the people in congo, the people in sudan, um, of course, and still the evil, um that unfortunately we're witnessing the killing of many many people, the battle of right against wrong continues. the reason why people are very emotional about of course what happened in 680 ad and imam hussein is because he gave his life in order for justice to remain in order to set the uh criteria of what is right and what is wrong.
7:38 pm
unfortunately is that sajat is taking place in gaza, of course when i was talking about the battles of right and wrong, this one foremost at the forefront of headlines, i'm going to talk to a couple of our uh guests uh, talk about the situation, the ongoing tragedy that is taking place in gaza. i'd like to welcome james string out of london and eric walberg out of toronto, thank you both for being with me, well i'd like to um see... what's your thoughts? i mean, when we look at the situation that it it just seems like it's just getting worse and worse each day, james. what has to be done, what has to be done to stop this? i mean, every day we see either uh civilians being burnt alive, intense, um, kids being cut to pieces,
7:39 pm
schools being hit, hospitals being destroyed. what else has to happen before this stops? we got to get the united nations to uh issue. resolution that a peacekeeping force must be installed in palestine so that any kind of attempt at attacking civilians can be immediately intercepted by proper peacekeeping hardware (i.e) military planes or possibly even military on ground. it's sounds obvious, but it also know it's very difficult because the israelis have got a very strong grip on all the or most of the members of the security council, especially america, but this is a good opportunity because they've attacked a un school again,
7:40 pm
killing 17 people inside who are only sheltering from their vicious attacks on on civilians. and because we've got a president in america who is slightly duali, in other words, is not particularly compositis, we might be able to get some kind of... change in the tendency for america not to support israel in their genocidal campaign. that's my initial suggestion. i know it's hopeless in a way, but i have lot of faith in china, the only country left now, which is brave enough apart from iran, but well, well armed enough to put that sort of force into. eric, your thoughts on that, you heard what james said,
7:41 pm
i mean, do you see the united nations playing role, because uh, we're more than nine months now into this genocide, we have seen various declarations, various activities, various meetings and and condemning this verbally, but we haven't seen any action, we we know that the united nations could... for example, implement no fly zone, they could sanction the israel regime, but we haven't seen anything like that, so so your thoughts on that, well i agree with james that his proposal is inadequate, the un is really not able to do very much, but and israel is notorious for killing un peacekeeping forces, ask ask lebanon and i don't know egypt as well where... where they just boldly kill any anyone that they want and they're boldly
7:42 pm
killing all the palestinians and we really uh we just have to keep going for uh public opinion and we have to somehow turn our own uh complicit governments into boycotting israel, that's the only way forward is to have a mass boycott of arms, not only, it's wonderful that the bds uh caught the div sanctions movement is has really taken off and uh uh is affecting israeli commerce, but the guns still go, so really you got to indict the president of the united states, that's what the criminal court should be doing, uh, they were bold enough to indict netanyahu, it's time to indict biden, and and if he brings down the un, well, russia, china and the bricks are creating a new united nations, and that's what we have to do, need the united nations, but we don't need the us veto there, it's been so destructive that it
7:43 pm
it it paralyzes the united nations completely. all right, on that note, i think both of you for being with me, james string, peace activist out of london, eric walberg, author and journalists out of toronto, and thank you viewers for being with us on another news review. yazd: yazd means pure and holy. it is named as the holy city or the land of god.

7:48 pm
don't think you can um, first of all, lay the the political violence at at the feet of... trump, it has existed for a long time in the us. it's an extraordinarily violent society. it has been from its inception, it was founded on genocide. we've talked about this, i mean, you know, the the police violence in the us is is at an extraordinarily high level, and and i think other nations, sometimes people foroners don't understand just how violent and racist american police are. um, so the fact that 10% of americans think political iolence is okay, um, should hardly surprise anybody, it doesn't surprise me, uh, this is very violent society, uh, everybody owns a gun, there are more guns than people in the united states, uh, and as i said, 700 nonarmed people were shot by by
7:49 pm
police, just last year, uh, so so the police operate in four neighborhoods. like an occupation army and and they're trained in counter insurgency tactics, often they are trained by israeli soldiers, it's a violent country. russia says it has made new gains in ukraine as its special military operation is in its third year. now the defense ministry announced that russian forces have taken control of village in southeastern ukraine. the orazaine village was one of the few. that the ukrainian forces took back in august of 2023. ukrainian military officials claim they have inflicted losses on russian forces and continue to block their advances. russia also said earlier that its forces have hit a ukrainian ammunition depot. the united states has announced a new military package worth $225 million dollars for ukraine. moscow has
