more palestinians fall victim to the israeli air and artillery strikes pounding civilian areas across the beside gaza strip. in central gaza, israel's artillery shelling hit nosera refugee camp, killing and wounding several palestinians in the north, air strikes targeted the vicinity of a school where refugees had taken shelter in beit laja, resulting in a number of casualties. at least six people were also killed in an israeli shelling of the sheikh. zayat towers area. local sources say palestinians had gathered there to get internet signal when the attack hit them. according to the palestinian health ministry, 42 civilians have been killed across gaza in the past 24 hours alone. the total palestinian death doll has surpassed 40,860. some 94,400 others have been injured. our correspondent mati abusaba

is joining us live from the city of deral bala in gaza to give us more updates. what more can you tell us about the recent developments? yes. actually the israel attacks are still ongoing against multiple areas of gaza strip taking more lives of the palestinian people. according to gaza's health ministry, the israel incubation forces have killed at least 18. palestinian civilians since don hours so far and this number is highly expected to rise as the israel attacks are still insistent targeting ellswering gaz strip uh maybe the the most opining massacre took place in the northern part of gaz strip when the israeli artillery shilling targeted a group of the palestinian people in the surrounding area of the sheikh zayat residential towers which is located as you know and the northern part of gaz strip near bit yesterday in addition to that more

palestinian residential buildings were targeted and destroyed by the israeli fighter, just one of them was and uh city basically in a sheima uh neighborhood, as you know the israeli occubition forces have been intensifying the attacks against those areas, particularly betly city for the past couple of days. in addition to that, gaz city were under gaza city was under heavy attacks of the israeli fighter jets whereas multiple residential buildings were targeted and destroyed. where the israeli fighter just one of them was in a sheikh ridwan area as you know at least four palestinian civilians were reporttedly slain as a result of the attack in the meantime uh more palestinians house houses actually were targeted in a zitoon neighborhood at least touristenal buildings were knocked by the israeli war planes over the past couple of hours leaving multiple palestinian casualties in addition to that the israeli artillery shielling was maintained chronically against the zitoon and assabra neighborhoods respectively uh in the meantime the israeli artillery with the

israeli fighter jones attacked gathering of the palestinian people in a zeitoon neighborhood claiming the lives of two palestinian civilians and here in the middle area of gaz strip a palestinian man was reportedly killed a after he was targeted by the israeli fight jones and the northen b of anasarati fiji camp needless to mention that the northern part of anosarati camp is still under heavy attacks of the israeli artillary shilling uh which as you know which has been all along under these attacks as it is still adjacent to where the israelicuvation forces are still located and mobilized in corridor when it comes to the southern part of gaz strip basically khan city as you know the israeli artillery shing was maintained heavily against abasan and those areas are still under the ongoing and non-stop israel arting nestamition that those areas have subjected to a wide scale ground offensive over the past couple of of days leaving massive and sheer destruction in the

infrastructure and the residential buildings there. when it comes to b asiras you know the israel activation forces continue to detonate and blow up more residential buildings and squares in the western part of the city those areas are still overcrowded with thousands of the palestinian evacuees who are still taking shilter in those areas uh unlike what many palestinian people unlike what many people think that those areas are vacant and no people are still there uh we can say clearly that thousands of the palestinian people are still as you know uh existed and uh present and despite the ongoing and nonstop israeli strikes and attacks and the non-stop israeli operations. of detonating and blowing up more residential blocks and squares, attacks are still incent against all areas of gaz ship, amit the catastrophic and unbearable humanitarian conditions are still befalling the palestinian people due to the severe shortage of the basic humanitarian essentials

vice prime minist premier. this is while ukrainian troops are facing pressure around the strategic. city of aporoskov, which is on the brink of falling to russian forces. for more on that, we're joined by our correspondent johnny miller, who is with us from moscow, and also mr. christoph horstell author and politician joining us from berlin, and let's begin with our very own johnny miller, you're right there on the grounds monitoring what's happen. give us the latest and why is this cabinet reshuffle so important? well, the truth is, we don't really know uh the reasons for this cabinet reshuffled yet, you very well sumed up the events in ukraine at the moment, the and in russia, there are many of them at the moment, russia making gains in the east, major russian missile strikes and this uh,

increasingly looking very much of a disaster, ukrainian incursion into cursed. but the reshufle we don't really know yet, i think we're at another um point in this conflict of which way will it go, and that's what i think the c cabinet reshuffles are about, uh, but we don't know which way they're going to go, will this be another escalation, at the moment ukraine is asking the west for permission to use western missiles deep inside ukraine, deep inside russia, meanwile russia is warning in the very strongest terms that if there's another escalation from ukraine we will hit back in dev in a devastating fashion. the other option is that there may be uh signs that ukraine and more importantly the united states that really hold uh hold the power here, they want to negotiate. i think that's less likely sadly, or it could be some signs that zelensky's power is uh in trouble, but these cabinet

reshuffled this cabinet certainly is significant uh and people are strong to figure out just what the motive is. okay, interestingly, you mentioned zelinsky, so let's bring in mr. christoph hostel from berlin, do you think that zelinsky's position is now shaky or not? zelinsky's position is of course very shaky, he has taken a really crazy decision which was very much criticized in the west, that means the incursion into a cursed region in russia, old russia, that is to say where there was no military installation. and he wasting uh supplies and manpower on on this adventure and it didn't help them anything uh whereas on the other front as our colleague correctly pointed out uh the ukrain army is losing all over the place and they face very bad winter so this cabinet reshuffle for example is a reshuffle out of utter weakness and we have pentagon

paper saying that for the next five years they are planning lull. in the fighting and not an escalation, so we do have an unintended mission creep of the warfare in ukraine into something bigger if missiles striking deep and say inside russia are being mentioned, because russia will answer, and it's going to be worse, and the red line was already crossed that russia has said beforehand that if the lency stops the warfare and says he doesn't want to enter nato, there can be peace immediate. and then that means cease fire stop of exchanging fire and sending missiles and drones and aircraft and things like that, but that red line was crossed that now president few days ago has said this offer is no longer valid and that means in fact total catastrophe per so in the

event that ukraine is still seeking a way to peace and let's have johnny miller on that. in that case, would that be the only way out for ukraine was would be to uh have zelinsky out of the picture? well, you think that many people, i mean through my work frankly here last two years in dumbas and and and moscow and many people around the world have been saying that peace is the best option for ukraine, two years ago they would have got a much better peace deal then they they will do now and so uh the kar it's just saying ukraine should negotiate now, there's there's hardly been a time the last two years in which that hasn't been the case, it's been in ukrainian interest, it's been in british interest, it's been in german interest. interest in european interests, but nobody seems to be able to stop this war machine, this kind of incompetent foreign policy that continues to take place in british and

european establishments, so we keep hoping, but frankly, i've been saying for the last two years in in interviews, we've reached another turning point, this is another opportunity for ukraine to pursue peace talks, but it never seems to happen, instead, the escalation continues to happen, so i do fear that, what's going to continue, but to answer your question specifically, to have peace in ukraine, you would have thought that there would have to be changes uh and zelensky would would have to to to go, but it could well go the other way, maybe they want to be more aggressive and zelensky has to go as well, zelensky is not popular in ukraine, people can call him a hero as much as they like in the west, but he's not popular in ukraine and he hasn't been for a long time. okay, and mr. hursel, uh, we have less than a minute left, what is your opinion, do we have to have zelinsky? out of the picture to have peace? i think that's necessary, he has tied himself too much towards the war, he has no perspective, and all his peace offers were nonsense. thank you very much. that was mr.
