hello and welcome, you're watching world news on press tv, coming to you live from our headquarters in tehran. thank you for joining us, my name is gisumi shahmedi and these are top stories this hour. there is no end in sight to the israeli genocidal campaign against palestinians in gaza as the regime keeps. pounding the

blockaded territory indiscriminately with air and artillery strikes. in the latest attack, at least three people were killed in israeli bombing of a palestinian home near the necera refugee camp in central gaza. to the south, the women and her daughter were killed after israeli war planes struck the almanara neighborhood in the city of kanunis. meanwhile, the israeli forces opened fire a group of palestinians in the town of al shabaka near raffa, killing a number of people. israeli occupying forces also opened fire directly on ambulances as they were trying to retrieve those injured in the regime's attacks in raffa. the israeli regime launched its war on gaza in october last year. since then, nearly 41,00 palestinians have been killed and almost 95 thousand others have been injured. students in almost all over the world are going back to school these days, but in gaza pupils trapped in a
5:33 am
cycle of suffering due to the israeli genocidal war remain without educational facilities. remaining schools in the besicht territory have become shelters where palestinians can find relative refuge from the regime's intense bombardment. our correspondent has a report: as the israeli genocidal war on gaza continues unabated, the undestroyed. of gaza have turned into the only relatively safe places for the displaced, but at the same time this has become an obstacle to young garzans to return to their schools and resume their education. the israeli regime has systematically of targeted the education sector through three main roots: the first one was targeting and destroying the schools and universities. 122 schools and universities have been completely destroyed. while 334 others have been
5:34 am
partially damaged, the second one was killing roughly 9,00 students, and the third one was targeting teaching staff by killing more than in 500 teachers and lecturers. at this time of the year, palestinian students like their counterparts all over the world would normally experience the vibe of back to school if gaza was not suffering from israel's genocidal war. however, 11 consecutive months of the war have deprived approximately 625, i wish we could live like other children around the world, they could go to school and get education, while we can't after the israeli forces destroyed our schools, i want this war to hand in order to be able to go to school once again. israel
5:35 am
has killed tens of thousands of palestinian students and teachers in gaza. the regime has also systematically destroyed. of schools including those run by the un and international aid agencies, while the undestroyed facilities are now packed by the displaced. the main aim of this genocidal war in gaza is to eliminate all aspects of life and send the territory back to the stone age.v, the central area of gaza step. a geneva big based human rights group says the israeli regime is deliberately targeting schools and shelters, housing displaced palestinians in the gaza strip. in a statement, a europe mediterranean human rights monitor says the regime has bombed at least 16 schools in northern gaza, killing more than 200 people in just one month. the
5:36 am
statement added that israel has intensified its targeted attacks on civilian homes, shelters and tents in recent weeks. euromet said this pattern of attacks on refugee centers is meant to forcibly displace palestinians. the rights group also accused the us and its european allies of complicity in the ongoing genocide with their military and political support for israel. it called on the international community to shoulder their responsibilities and put an end to the extermination of palestinians in gaza.
5:37 am
the palestinian resistance movement hamas has hailed the shooting operation that led to the killing of three israelis at the border crossing between the occupied west bank and jordan. hamas says the operation at karama crossing is a response to the israeli crimes in gaza and the west bank. it added that the shooting reaffirms the arab people's rejection of the israeli occupation. the military wing of hamas has also issued a statement in praise of the operation the alkisasam brigades as move is the result of the alexa flood operation early october. it added that the shooting is also a sign of nightmare a waiting israel. jordanian national maher al-jazi, a truck driver was
5:38 am
shot dead by israeli forces after he carried out the shooting operation on sunday. since the start of the gaza genocide, there has been a surge. in retaliatory attacks against israel in the west bank. and earlier in our news review program we discussed the anti-israeli operation at the crossing between the occupied west bank and jordan. let's say could listen to an extract from the program. to discuss that further, we're joined by sarah flounders, an international action center from new york, also joining us live is robert fontina, author and journalist joining us from kitchen. thank you very much to both of you for joining us on this edition the news review. let's begin with sarah, what
5:39 am
is your take on the response coming from hamas and the alkasson brigades, stating that this was a clear and obvious consequence of israeli occupation. and particularly let's not forget the recent attacks on the west bank, well this is exactly right, they're stating the obvious fact that the whole world knows that the horror that has gone on now, closing in a year, year of non-stop bombing, destruction, hospitals, schools, tents, refugee centers, bulldozers and tanks into the west banks. cities, there's just no end to the horror that everyone has seen, and it's holy justified response, what happened, three israel is killed, i'm sure the zionists know that they're sewing the seeds of their own destruction, by the very viciousness of
5:40 am
their crimes, and from here in the us, i have to always say that none of this would be possible without full 100% us equipment, political, support that is open-ended toward the settler state and all of its crimes, so that's whose to blame, but this is a marter, very much part of the resistance in every way. heart and soul and they gave their life in order to strike back when they had an opportunity, and this is what awaits, you you can't, so this is seithing in the whole region, and nowhere is safe while these crimes continue. let's bring in mr. robert fontina to elaborate more on that, what do you think awaits israel, now that we see a jordanian national, now this time it's not a palestinian, it's a jordanian national carrying out retaliatory attacks, let alone. uh yemen, iraq, lebanon, that have been behind the palestinians ever since this
5:41 am
happened. yes, i think the expression the other commentator used, that israel is sowing the seeds of its own destruction is very apt. if israel wanted peace, then it would end the occupation, that is what the demand has been for uh decades, that is what will bring peace to the region. israel is not interested in peace, it's interested in slaughter, it's interested in uh annexing the entirety of palestine, this isn't going to succeed, it hasn't succeeded in all these decades, it's not succeeding now, when israel invaded the gaza strip back in october, the israeli government expected a quick quick victory, a quick defeat for for hamas in gaza, this did not happen because they underestimate the strength of the resistance, underestimated the will of the palestinian people, we're seeing that in the west bank as israeli ter... are killing, arresting mass numbers of people, killing people, uh, bulldozing roads,
5:42 am
just making life miserable for the people of the west bank, of the palestinans of west bank, they are, this is not going to bring peace, this not going to lead to security for the israeli state, it's only going to continue to make it extremely insecure, people are going to be afraid in their homes as they are now, and they have reason to be, because their government is committing genocide against the people who will... not stand for it, who will not allow it and will not not sit still for it, and as you mentioned, this current uh act was by a jordanian national, so it isn't just palestinian it is jordanians, it's syrians, yemenis, people from lebanon, uh, from iraq, these people are all opposing zionist state, and they are becoming more and more uh, more public, more bold about it, because the zionist state is involved in genocide, and that is... not being tolerated by many of the people throughout the middle east, the resistance will continue to grow, israel will
5:43 am
not be able to to break the back of the resistance, and they will pay up heavy price for their long decades of oppression. thank you very much, that was sarah flounders, international from the international action center in new york, and also robert fontina, author and journalist joining us from ken, thanks for sharing your thoughts and views on. on this edition of the news review and that brings us to the end of this edition, thank you for watching. thousands in the jordanian capital, aman have gathered for a symbolic funeral for maher alijazi, the jordanian national who killed three israeli forces near a bridge connecting jordan with the occupied. west bank. aljazi's martterdom has ignited widespread solidarity and outrage

administrators in amman are sending a clear message, there is no choice but action against the israeli regime. this symbolic funeral isn't just a tribute, it's a passionate call for change and resistance. press tv, the israeli regime has carried out fresh strikes on syria, targeting number of military sites in the arab country's northwest with missiles and drones. syrian media say at least five people were killed in nearly 20 others injured in the attacks that targeted the city of hama. syrian officials. say several of those injured are in critical condition, the syrian ministry of defense says the country's air defense system managed to intercept and shoot down a number of missiles and drones. israel routinely carries out air strikes on syria, often targeting the country's military positions. damascus has time and again called on the un security

council to put an end to the regime's attacks on syrians, it argues that the strikes violate the country's sovereign. and territorial integrity. the hazbullah resistance movement has launched a new round of operations against israeli targets in the occupied territories in solidarity with palestinians and in response to the regime's intensified attacks on civilian areas in lebanon. our correspondent maram saleh gives us an update from beirut. well the issue this evening, the israelies launched several bombs towards the town of qurbet, actually in areas that are towards the outskirts of the town, closer to the el sultania town. this is area that is inhabited, it is far away from the border, and so we learned that hazbullah launched a direct retaliation against that attack, saying that they launched a swarm of

drones towards the alzaura baracks where they said they targeted the... arm dome launchers as well as positions for israeli officers and soldiers, leaving scores of israeli soldiers and officers killed or wonded. they also launched some four operations alone for the massacer that was committed in the area of foon where paramedics and firefighters were launching civil civil uh fighters actually were trying to stop the fires from the night before and that led to the marturdom of three and injuring two. has bellah in addition to the earlier operations in the morning where they launched ketusha rockets and f rockets towardsmona in addition to the ketchusha rockets towards shamir, they also launched another drone attack towards the alaquura uh coastal base where they said they targeted directly soldiers. iran's islamic revolution

garscorer says israel will taste the... bitterness of revenge force vicious acts in the west asia region. the irgc chief commander, major general hussein salami said the zionist cannot escape the retaliation, and they will see when, where and how it will occur. general salomi added that the revenge will take place differently. the remarks are an apparent reference to iran's repeated pledge to retaliate against the israeli assassination of hamas chief. of ismail hania in tehran in late july, the irgc chief commander also appointed to mass protest against israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu over his failure to secure the release of captives held in gaza. salami said israel is unable to continue its current political existence, adding that the regime's officials are confused these days. he noted
5:50 am
that the war has been spread to the occupied territories. anthony hall, a professor of globalization at canada's leth bridge university, says the israeli prime minister is doing everything he can to expand the war across the region an attempt to save his political career. let's take a listen, uh, the murder of the chief. negotiator for hamas, this requires some response, which hasn't been forthcoming, we've had a long time where is fire, maybe yes, maybe no, this, that, the other thing, "now the uh israeli government is upping the anti, there's no hamas involved, but they're going to war, outright war with the palestinians in
5:51 am
the west bank, uh, maybe in israel they want to widen the war to involve iran, because uh, they don't look, as long as the focus is on gaza, uh, many people around the world identify with gaza, they don't necessarily identify with iran and aren't going to all be inclined to see. iran in a positive life, so maybe israel is hoping that they can get iran involved to some extent, because of course it's no secret that they want to uh, netanyahu wants to drag usa into a war with iran, it's been his goal really of of his lifetime, so the general of the islamic revolutionary guards is making it clear that the uh response has not yet occurred, that it's going to be surprising. i am quite sure that general salami's words have lot of meaning behind it, that there is going to be
