despiration and the inhumanity of a system which is prepared to live on the bones, on the literal bones of of men, women and children. well dan, i guess that makes some good points, but uh the mere fact that you have this war crime taking place through the displacement within the gaza strip on so many occasions in this case i just picked one um and using the excuse uh that we are targeting for example hamas fighters or their command and control centers uh the proof uh when came up even turned out to be false, there was really notion of that in many of these massacers. um, and you had the us come out and support that uh, i guess uh, statement in the defense of the israely regime. why do you think that the us came out doing that, and did it really have any buyers after we saw this recurr so many times? yeah, simply because the united states and the israeli regime are one entity in this case, the israeli regime depends existential. actually
8:31 pm
on the united states, it wouldn't be able to carry out uh these crimes without the full ideological, political, military and financial backing, so uh, whatever the israeli regime does, it does so with the green light uh from the united states and this entire narrative that the israeli regime is targeting hamas fighters which they refer to as terrorists and has been copied now and recycled for so many years and to also remember that hamas was founded in the late 1980s, that is exactly one century after the colonial ideology of zionism emerged in europe, and four decades after the so-called state of israel was uh established and proclaimed a genocidal this possession of the palestinian people, however this entire terrorist narrative has been so productive and it's a very lazy narrative that has been,
8:32 pm
uh reproduced uh by the media uh uh imperialist media infrastructure in the west, including in in hollywood in mainstream news, that is just very easily uh uh to there's no more effort and it's just very easy for the israelis um to come up with these narratives, at the same time of course if we look at not just since october 7, but throughout the past decades israely regime does not even need any justification for its western. audiences uh uh the israeli narratives have been disproven so many times because they are just so ridiculous, but the israeli regime can get away with whatever it does because of this unconditional backing of the us so i think we've reached a point now also one year after uh this genocide and again nothing started on october 7 where very much israel regime is making fun of of the rest of the world yeah unfortunately thank you for that uh well the israely raids into the west bank almost done a daily. bases have increased um
8:33 pm
dramatically, almost exponentially after operational flood, but the violence and the killings have increased uh um as well in a step with that, one of the reasons is that the resistance fighters in the west bank, well they have increased their actions against the israeli regime, the other is that the regime feels that the resistance fighters are increasing in numbers, including the flow of weapons to fight off the regime forces, as we're about to see in this report. before dawn, israeli military vehicles stormed genine once again, turning its streets into battlegrounds, air strikes and chilling devastated residential areas, government buildings and schools. the destruction is overwhelming. 15 schools have been severely damaged in just the past week, jeopardizing the education of thousands of palestinian students. in a horroring incident, math teacher ahmed jabarin and his fellow educators were attacked by the iof while in route to school. tragically, one of his colleagues lost his life in the assault,
8:34 pm
leaving ahmed grabbling with the trauma. every day, mr. alam and i went to school together. on the day we were attacked, we heard distant gunfire, but didn't think we were in danger. suddenly, direct fire hit our car. it felt like a horror movie. when it stopped, we realized mr. allam had been matered. it was indescribable. at the school, another colleague realized he'd been shot in the shoulder. i panicked, screaming for help, but there was no one around. this is the life of palestinians, everything is targeted, the occupation spares no one, yet when a teacher teaches and a student learns, both are resisting. efforts to restore normality in schools are ongoing, but the reality is grim, children struggling to focus on learning amid the trauma of air strikes and violent israeli rates, education has transformed from pursuit of knowledge to matter of survival. in northern west bank cities like tulkaram,
8:35 pm
janeen, and tubas school and university attendance has been repeatedly disrupted due to frequent raids. parents are understandably fearful and raids during school hours, as seen in... batia, further impact families and education. these incursions drain resources meant for development, causing both physical and psychological damage. as infrastructure crumbles and education is disrupted, one pressing question remains, when will the world take notice? the impact of these attacks is profound and far reaching. the people of jin are not just fighting for their homes, they are fighting for their future, for their children's right to learn, to live and to drink. without fear, the struggle is not just against occupation, but against the eraser of their identity, culture, and hope for better tomorrow. naqa hammed reporting for press tv, ramallah. let's speak from to
8:36 pm
give us more about the lives the palestinians are experiencing there. well, we have this one year uh that is coming up, the operation also flood to have taken off um back in october 7th, but what's incredible? is the fact that palestinians have endured what they have, and i think if you agree, and you could add more to it, one of the worst uh attacks was what happened in the jane refugee camp, where in a course of 10 days there was so much infrastructure uh that was ruined, but overall the types of tortures of the palestine's experience, even for a student for example to get to school uh, he has to or she has to go through checkpoints or just have tough time even going through that simple uh journey, you can maybe add to that. well yes, through the last year we have been seeing many horrible stories about about various aspects of the lives of the palestinians over here, but regarding to that report, if we are going to talk about education, for example, this very simple right of the palestinian children have been
8:37 pm
stripped out of of their hands. we are talking about more than 504 palestinian educators have been directly killed in gaza and in the west bank. we are talking about. got more than 3,500 injured and we are talking about only over here in the west bank, more than 200 palestinian educators have been imprisoned by the iof, well as you have said it's just a simple right to be educated for a child, but over here in palestine they have to go checkpoint, they have to go and endure even attacks by the iof almost a daily basis on the uh on the schools, also the they have endure and survived attacks by settlers, as we just have seen in ararabne where settlers have attacked a an elementary school, putting bears covered in blood inside the school's playground and also beating up the uh the educational team
8:38 pm
and arresting the principal of the school only for asking the help for his students. if we are talking also about janine and tool karem as we have seen in the last two days we are talking about all almost a se 70% damaged infrastructure, even if the schools are not totally damaged, we are talking about 15 schools that has been hit inside genine only, not to mention to karim al fara and and nables, only in jenine we are talking about 15 school that has been targeted, also we are talking about streets that can't be walked in by students going to their schools, that's very unfortunate, thank you very much for that, correspondent talking to us from romala uh coming to you ranjit on this uh, you know, i i i can't uh obviously fit in um over seven decades of uh the violations of the apartide regime has exercised against the palestinians, but that snapshot um that a reporter who herself i'm sure has experienced these types of uh challenges um is quite
8:39 pm
telling of how this is continued however throughout this length of time, why do you think that there has not been any progress, real progress for the lives of palestinians throughout the... years and decades uh to try to put aside the violations taking place in order for them to have normal life? the answer in a word is is that is not the ideology of the zionists who run the state of israel? it's quite clear, i was a demonstration, i've just come from demonstration in london to mark the one year of this genocide carrying on since alaska flood battle, and someone held lot of the demonstration there, the nakbar never ended, and that's become abundantly clear, the level of violence seen against the remaining palestinian population in this last year equals and surpasses many times over that of the of course then the palestinian population were naive to this level of violence, so many were frightened and forced to move, it's clearly israel's intention to expel the
8:40 pm
remaining palestinian population, it's their heroism that makes them determined to remain, to outlast, to enjure and in fact to win, but of course they have the... full blessing in all of their crimes, precisely because israel remains an unsincable aircraft carry in the middle east doing the bidding of us and uk imperialism in order to dominate the vast mineral res. is let's not forget that what they're talking about is territory in the middle east and which 60 to 70% of the world's proven oil reserves still rest, and it's this that they care about, they don't give toss frankly for human rights, for the rights of any human being, they care about their returns, they care about their profits they care about, the the the right they have to exploit the natural resources and the human resources, the human beings of this area and the wider world, it's this that they're fighting for, um, is this that the anglo-american imperialism back is or this why they continue to send their weapons, turn the other cheek, pretend they don't see the violence and talk in vague abstract terms
8:41 pm
about the equivalence of of humanity that you they can't see the rights and wrongs of the case and and meanwile allow the genocide to continue whilst they're really backing it to the hilt, you talk about the host schools equally is the case for the health infrastructure which has been systematically destroyed i'm a doctor, i know palestinian doctors who come from the area and it tears the heart out of them to see what's happening to their homeland but at the same time they resist and and their resistance uh is is um is inspiring um a whole generation of people to rise up and this system despite its strength and its crimes at the same time has never to me looked more sure thank you for that daniel yotic um when our correspondent talk about how many schools in just that one particular refugee camp was uh destroyed i think it was up to 35 uh it makes me think about the fact that there's the regime not only the occupied west bank as it's doing now, but what it did in the gaza strip and it continues to do so, if there's anything left of it is trying to erase the uh heritage and
8:42 pm
the identity of palestinians with uh destruction of schools, mosks and uh what have you um in order ultimately to dispell them from their land again another kock by is that curick way of looking at it? absolutely uh because we have two processes here taking place at the same time uh it is the settler colonial conquest that means the israelis the the israeli settlers. trying to establish a connection to the land, while at the same time erasing the indigenous people, and this is very much in line with what uh settlers uh from europe have done in north america, south america, frankly all around uh the world, um, the fact is however that the palestinian people are living on their land and the settlers are coming from different parts of the world and trying uh again to get to to... to sort of make up for their lack of connection to the land but destroying um
8:43 pm
everything there, so as you mentioned, the schools, the educational infrastructure, and in particular the targeting of of journalists of educators of professors of poets, the imprisonment of, if we look into the history of palestine, major palestinian thinkers, writers, resistance figures have been illegally detained, have been kidnapped by the israeli regime, have been assassinated, because what the israeli regime fears most is knowledge, because it's entire narrative is based on lies and racism, um, and so this is very much an existential fight for the israeli regime in order to suppress and oppress the indigenous people and um very unsuccessfully trying to cut them off from the outside worlds and thank you for that, well uh the israel regime has made an or did make announcement on 25th, it warned on that day that hasbullah wanted to carry out an operation similar to operation flood, that
8:44 pm
was their claim, aside from mentioning how had attacked the northern part of occupied palestine since day two of operation flood, well it said it was preparing the world for the carnage that it would execute on lebanese lands, justifying why it would attack lebanon, let's take a listen, a short while ago the idf identified terrorist organization. preparing to fire missiles, rockets towards israeli territory, in a self-defense act, to remove these threats, the idf is striking terror targets in lebanon from which hizbala was planning to launch their attacks on israeli civilians. this follows more than 6,700 rockets, missiles and explosive uavs fired by hizbala at israeli families, homes and communities since october 8th. "hizbala will soon fire rockets and possibly missiles and uavs towards israeli
8:45 pm
territory. okay, that was back on august 25th, the corresponder mariam saleh joins us from beirot to give us her thoughts about when that announcement was was made. mariam, you had the um israely military spokesperson talking about how there was going to be an imminent attack similar to uh the way that operation alaso flood was executed by the hezbollah fighters, justifying the attack. then that suit following that announcement that it made, one thing that was pretty interesting was the fact that he admitted to the success of... targeting the northern part and of course the uh way that the settlers had to be, i guess removed from that area had to remove themselves from that area, but what do you think about that day when they made the is made that announcement, was there any validity to it? absolutely not, we know that hasballah, if they wanted to, they would have done it after the israelis turned all the gal
8:46 pm
maybe almost into a buffer zone or into a military zone, we know that now also 'there's many of the settlements and the occupied territories that have been transformed into a larger military base and so could have even throughout that time from 8 october 2023 until just before the israeli offensive labanon amplified they could have entered because israeli settlers themselves said that we have emptied out that area and has been able to basically invade or occupy of the galili without even'. putting putting boots on the ground. had said from day one, their objective was to make sure there's an end to the genocide in ghaza. they had no intention of going for any invasion or launching any sort of attacks on the israelis going into palestinian territories. however, we saw how how specified they were, how they were
8:47 pm
targeting only military bases and military devices and armored vehicles. however, now we see with the issue of with flashes of course things have somewhat changed, but the israelis continue to use that narrative uh if they're using narrative against the paramedics, they consider paramedics are assisting in transporting um fighters as well, and so they us this is the usual talk, the usual narration from the israeli occupation forces during the time of occupation and during the flood operation throughout that time other in ghaza or in lebanon, so there's absolutely nothing new, but what we've what we're looking at right now is that the israelis uh understand that hazbullah has the upper hand, especially in face to face combat. all right, thank you very much for that. mariam sal there talking to us from bairut. mariam, thank you. well uh, let's talk a little bit more about the icj and what they have held against the um israeli regime. we're going to take a look at some of those uh stances. um, now they have
8:48 pm
not held back when it comes to the way that they have blasted the israeli regime for its crimes, including the apartthy practices. as you you see in this uh particular legal consequence of the construction of wall statement that has come out in terms of a summary uh the 204 advisory opinion found israel's separation wall and settlements on occupied palestinian lands illegal. now in terms of the next piece of uh information on this aside from the icj's lack of enforcement, unfortunately the rulings mean nothing of third states and uh international community fail to hold israel accountable uh and uh in a move that that was blasted, the israeli kenness actually came out and rejected through a resolution the establishment of a palestinian state. the resolution said the creation of a palestinian state would pose an existential danger to israel, that's what they said. let's bring our guest into this, see what they think. uh, and my last questions uh to both of you when it comes to the way that the israely regime
8:49 pm
has actually erased the possibility of a palestinian state. ranjit, what do you think, is that just to put an end? to any notion that the world may have, including uh any uh countries to stand and support uh the palestinian statehood. i'm sorry, i lost some of your question there, would you mind repeating it? the whole notion that the israel rejected uh through a resolution of the uh support for a palestinian state, that there is no longer that opty. yeah, so it's not within the perview of the israelis to recognize or reject. the the stathehood of the palestinian people, what's abundantly clear is this latest period has destroyed the notion that two-state solution is possible, many people had mixed feelings about it, i think at the time that the arafat, yes arafat made the oslo accords, there was some brief hope, but when you know netanyahu had a part to play in this, but when he encouraged and the israeli zianis assassinated their own leader in order to stop two state solution
8:50 pm
happening, from that point on they've driven relentlessly towards the total destruction of palestine, was very clear is that... whilst the overwhelming majority of people and nations in the world do support palestinian stated and have recognized it, the israelis have no intention of recognizing it and what they're doing, you know, as they did during much of the period when they seemed to be negotiating is stalling whilst they create facts on the ground, and their facts on the ground are ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing was a subdivision of the west bank with their border border crossings and and checkpoints with... their ongoing settlements and we we know full well that they have their eyes in particular on the gas fields off of the gaza coast which technically belong to the remaining palestinian state and the real estate which they are. beliefully selling off you zionist parties and events in new york and in israel and they've already decided to fully colonize these territories and they are busyly in front of the world you creating and
8:51 pm
trying to complete their genocide, they're failing and actually the resistance is strong enough to actually threaten the existence of the zinis state itself, but that is quite clearly their plan and intention, they've made this abundantly clear and it's absolutely in violation of international law. all right, i like to thank you for that, appreciate ranjit brother, consultant of the vascular and endovascular surgeon also from london, we thank you for your comments on this anniversary of operational flood. also like to thank daniel, author and researcher who uh spoke to us from barcelona. finally, sometimes there are moments during a period of aggression or violence that stands out for the pure simplicity, yet powerful message that a scene may send. this is exactly what the following scene has done in the... aftermath of the attack by the iof regime forces in the tulkaram refugee camp.
